1 And, these, are the inheritances which the sons of Israel received in the land of Canaan,which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the ancestral heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel gave them to inherit.
1 E estas são as regiões que os filhos de Israel herdaram na terra de Canaã, as quais Eleazar, o sacerdote, e Josué, o filho de Num, e os cabeças dos pais das tribos dos filhos de Israel, lhes distribuíram por herança.
2 By lot, was their inheritance divided,as Yahweh commanded by the hand of Moses, unto the nine tribes and unto the half tribe.
2 Por sorte foi a sua herança, como o SENHOR ordenou pela mão de Moisés, para as nove tribos, e para a meia tribo.
3 For Moses had given the two tribes and the half tribe their inheritance over the Jordan,but, unto the Levites, gave he no inheritance in their midst;
3 Pois Moisés tinha dado a herança das duas tribos e da meia tribo no outro lado do Jordão; mas para os levitas ele não deu nenhuma herança no meio deles.
4 for the sons of Joseph became two tribes: Manasseh and Ephraim,so they gave no portion to the Levites in the land, save only cities to dwell in, with the pasture lands thereof, for their cattle and for their substance.
4 Porque os filhos de José eram duas tribos, Manassés e Efraim; portanto eles não deram parte aos levitas na terra, salvo cidades para habitarem, com os seus arredores para o seu gado e para seus bens.
5 As Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did the sons of Israel,when they apportioned the land.
5 Como o SENHOR ordenou a Moisés, assim fizeram os filhos de Israel, e dividiram a terra.
6 Then came near the sons of Judah unto Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, said unto him,Thou, knowest the word which Yahweh spake unto Moses the man of God in my behalf and in thine in Kadesh-barnea.
6 Então os filhos de Judá vieram até Josué em Gilgal; e Calebe, o filho de Jefoné, o quenezeu, disse-lhe: Tu sabes o que o SENHOR disse a Moisés, o homem de Deus, em Cades-Barneia acerca de mim e de ti.
7 Forty years old, was I when Moses the servant of Yahweh sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land,so I brought him back word, as was in my heart.
7 Quarenta anos tinha eu, quando Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, enviou-me de Cades-Barneia para espionar a terra; e eu lhe trouxe de volta uma palavra conforme esta estava no meu coração.
8 But, my brethren who had been up with me, made the heart of the people melt,whereas, I, wholly followed Yahweh my God.
8 Contudo, os meus irmãos que comigo subiram fizeram derreter o coração do povo, mas eu segui com integridade o SENHOR, meu Deus.
9 So then Moses sware on that day saying, Surely, the land on which thy foot hath trodden, unto thee, shall belong, for an inheritance, and unto thy sons, unto times age-abiding,because thou hast wholly followed Yahweh my God.
9 E Moisés jurou naquele dia, dizendo: Certamente a terra sobre a qual os teus pés pisaram será a tua herança, e dos teus filhos para todo o sempre, porque tu seguiste com integridade o SENHOR meu Deus.
10 Now, therefore lo! Yahweh hath kept me alive as he spake these forty and five years from the time Yahweh spake this word unto Moses, while Israel journeyed in the desert. Now, therefore lo! Ito-day, am eighty and five years old:
10 E agora eis que o SENHOR tem me mantido vivo, como declarou, nestes quarenta e cinco anos, verdadeiramente, desde que o SENHOR falou esta palavra a Moisés, enquanto os filhos de Israel vagavam pelo deserto; e agora, vê que nestes dias já tenho oitenta e cinco anos.
11 I remain, to-day, as courageous as on the day when Moses sent me, as my strength was then, so also my strength is now,for war, both to go out and to come in.
11 Como ainda sou tão forte nestes dias como era no dia em que Moisés me enviou; como antes era a minha força, assim também é a minha força agora, para a guerra, tanto para sair, como para entrar.
12 Now, therefore, give me this mountain, whereof Yahweh spake, on that day,for, thou thyself, didst hear, on that day, that, Anakim, were there, and great cities fortified, if so be Yahweh be with me, then shall I dispossess them, as spake Yahweh.
12 Agora, portanto, dá-me este monte, do qual o SENHOR falou naquele dia, pois tu ouviste naquele dia que os anaquins lá estavam, e que as cidades eram grandes e fortificadas; se assim for, o SENHOR estará comigo, e eu serei capaz de expulsá-los, como disse o SENHOR.
13 So Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron unto Caleb son of Jephunneh, for an inheritance.
13 E Josué o abençoou, e deu Hebrom a Calebe, o filho de Jefoné, por herança.
14 For this cause, hath Hebron belonged unto Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite, for an inheritance, unto this day,because he wholly followed Yahweh, God of Israel.
14 Hebrom, portanto, tornou-se a herança de Calebe, o filho de Jefoné, o quenezeu, até este dia, porque ele seguiu com integridade o SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
15 Now, the name of Hebron, was formerly, City of Arba, the greatest man among the Anakim, was he. And, the land, had rest from war.
15 E antes o nome de Hebrom era Quiriate-Arba; sendo que Arba fora um homem afamado entre os anaquins. E a terra teve repouso da guerra.
