1 Of the sons of Ammon-Thus saith Yahweh: Hath Israel no, sons? Hath he no, heir? Why hath, Malkam, taken possession of Gad, Or have, his people, in the cities thereof, made their dwelling?
1 Aos amonitas - Eis o que diz o Senhor: Israel não possui filhos nem herdeiros? Por que Melcom apoderou-se de Gad, e instalou seu povo nas suas cidades?
2 Therefore, lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh When I will cause to be heard against Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, an alarm of war, So shall she become a mound of desolation, And, her villages, with fire, shall blaze,Then shall Israel, inherit them who inherited him, Saith Yahweh.
2 Dias virão - oráculo do Senhor - em que farei ouvir gritos de guerra em Rabá dos amonitas; ficará ela reduzida a um montão de escombros; suas filhas serão entregues às chamas, e Israel herdará dos que dele herdaram - oráculo do Senhor.
3 Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled Make outcry, ye daughters of Rabbah, Gird you with sackcloth, Lament ye and run to and fro among the fences,For, Malkam, into captivity, shall go, His priests and his princes, together.
3 Lamenta-te, Hesebon, porque Hai foi devastada; gritai, filhas de Rabá, revesti-vos de cilícios e cobri-vos de saco, errando pelo redil, porquanto Melcom vai ser levado ao exílio com todos os seus sacerdotes e chefes.
4 Why shouldst thou glory in the vales, The flowing of thy vale O apostate daughter? She who is trusting in her treasures, Who shall invade, me?
4 Por que orgulhar-te da fertilidade de teus vales? Filha esquiva que tanto confias em teus tesouros, dizendo: Quem ousaria atacar-me?
5 Behold me! bringing upon thee, terror Declareth My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, From all who are round about thee,And ye shall be driven out every man before it, And there shall be none to bring home the wanderer;
5 Vou desencadear em volta de ti o terror - oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos. Sereis expulsos, um por um, sem que ninguém consiga reunir os fugitivos.
6 But afterwards, will I bring back the captivity of the sons of Ammon, Declareth Yahweh.
6 Em seguida, mudarei a sorte dos amonitas.
7 Of EdomThus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Hath counsel perished from the discerning? Is their wisdom corrupt?
7 Contra Edom. - Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Não existe mais sabedoria em Temã? Perdeu-se o conselho dos clarividentes, desvaneceu-se a inteligência?
8 Flee ye turn go down deep to dwell, O inhabitant of Dedan,For the doom of Esau, have I brought in upon him The time of his visitation.
8 Fugi, voltai as costas, ocultai-vos nos esconderijos, habitantes de Dedã, pois que trago a ruína sobre Esaú: chegou a hora da devastação.
9 If, grape-gatherers, came to thee, Would they not leave, gleanings? If, thieves in the night, Would they not have taken away what sufficed them?
9 Se vierem a ti vindimadores, nenhum cacho deixarão. Se forem ladrões noturnos, pilharão à saciedade.
10 But, I, have stripped Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, And to conceal himself, shall he not be able! Spoiled, are his seed, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
10 Porquanto eu sondei Esaú, e lhe descobri os esconderijos: ele não se pode mais ocultar. Arruinou-se-lhe a raça, seus irmãos. e seus vizinhos. E não subsistirá mais.
11 Leave thy fatherless children I, will preserve them alive,And thy widows, In me, let them trust.
11 Abandona teus órfãos, dar-lhes-ei do que viver; ponham tuas viúvas sua confiança em mim!
12 For, thus saith YahwehLo! they who had not been adjudged to drink the cup, shall surely drink, And art thou, the one to go unpunished? Thou shalt not go unpunished, but shalt surely drink.
12 Porque assim falou o Senhor: Aqueles que não deviam beber deste cálice, terão de beber. E tu? Estarias isento dele? Não, tu beberás;
13 or by myself, have I sworn, Declareth Yahweh, That, Bozrah shall become, an astonishment: a reproach and a desolation, and a contempt,And all her cities shall become age-abiding desolations.
13 juro-o por mim mesmo - oráculo do Senhor. Será Bosra objeto de pasmo e de opróbrio, uma solidão maldita; e suas cidades serão eterna ruína.
14 A report, have I heard from Yahweh, Yea, an envoy, throughout the nations, hath been sent,Gather yourselves together and come against her, And arise to the battle.
14 Chegou-me uma notícia da parte do Senhor; um arauto foi-me enviado dentre as nações: Uni-vos! Atacai-o! Erguei-vos para a guerra!
15 For lo! Small, have I made thee among the nations,Despised among men!
15 Olha: faço-te pequeno entre as nações, desprezado entre os homens.
16 Thy monstrous thing, hath deceived thee, The insolence of thy heart, O thou that inhabitest the hidden recesses of the cliff, That boldest fast the height of the hill,Though thou set high as an eagle, thy nest, From thence, will I bring thee down, Declareth Yahweh;
16 O terror... o orgulho do teu coração enganou-te, a ti, que habitas nas concavidades dos rochedos, e que ocupas o cume das colinas. Ainda que colocasses teu ninho tão alto quanto o da águia, de lá te precipitaria - oráculo do Senhor.
17 So shall, Edom, become an astonishment,Every one passing by her, will be astonished and hiss, over all her plagues:
17 Será transformada Edom em objeto de espanto, e o transeunte, estupefato, mofará de suas ruínas.
18 Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and her neighbours, Saith Yahweh,There shall not dwell therea man, Nor sojourn thereinany son of the earth-born.
18 Repetir-se-á a catástrofe de Sodoma e Gomorra, e das cidades vizinhas - oráculo do Senhor. Ninguém mais habitará lá e nenhum ser humano a povoará.
19 Lo! like a lion, will he come up from the majesty of the Jordan, unto the pasture perennial, But I will winkI will make him run away therefrom, Who then shall be the Chosen One whom over it, I may set in charge? For who shall be like unto, me? And who shall appoint me, a time? And who is the Shepherd that shall stand before, me?
19 Qual leão {o inimigo} que sobe dos espinheiros do Jordão para uma pastagem sem fim, assim, num instante, farei fugir daqui {Edom} e aí estabelecerei aquele que eu escolher. Quem se iguala a mim? Quem poderia provocar-me? Qual o pastor que poderia afrontar-me?
20 Wherefore, hear ye The counsel of Yahweh which he hath counseled against Edom, And his devices which he hath devised against the inhabitants of Teman,Surely the little ones of the flock shall drag them away, Surely he will cause their fold to be astounded over them.
20 Escutai a decisão do Senhor acerca de Edom, e seus desígnios contra os homens de Temã: serão arrastados para a morte, como débeis cordeiros, e seus campos serão devastados;
21 At the noise of their fail, hath trembled the earth, At the outcry, in the Red Sea, was heard its noise.
21 ao estrondo de sua queda, treme a terra e até o mar Vermelho ressoa o seu fragor.
22 Lo! as an eagle, he shall mount and dart, and spread his wings over Bozrah,So shall the heart of the heroes of Edom, in that day, become as the heart of a woman in her pain.
22 Qual uma águia, eis que desprende o vôo, estendendo suas asas sobre Bosra; e o coração dos guerreiros de Edom, naquele dia, se assemelhará ao coração da mulher em parto.
23 Of Damascus. Turned pale have Hamath and Arpad, For, a calamitous report, have they heardthey tremble,In the sea, is anxiety, it cannot, rest.
23 Contra Damasco: Foram confundidos Emat e Arfad porque uma notícia funesta lhes adveio, e de medo desfaleceram: é o mar em tormenta que não se pode acalmar.
24 Enfeebled is Damascus She hath turned to flee But terror, hath seized her,Anguish and pangs, have seized her as a woman in childbirth.
24 Damasco perdeu a coragem, desejaria fugir. O terror, porém, a paralisa, e a angústia e a dor dela se apoderam, qual mulher em parto.
25 Alas! is she not forsakenThe city so praised! The citadel I rejoiced in!
25 Como não foi abandonada a cidade gloriosa, a cidade que fazia minhas delícias?
26 Therefore shall her young men fail in her broadways,And, all her men of war, shall be silent in that day, Declareth Yahweh of hosts;
26 Porquanto, cairão os jovens em suas praças, e seus homens de guerra nesse dia perecerão - oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos.
27 Then will I kindle a fire in the walls of Damascus,And it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
27 Vou lançar fogo nas muralhas de Damasco para devorar os palácios de Ben-Hadad. Oráculo contra os filhos do oriente
28 Of Kedar. And of the kingdoms of Hazor Which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smoteThus, saith Yahweh,Arise ye go up against Kedar, So shall they spoil the sons of the East:
28 A Cedar e os reinos de Asor, vencidos por Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia. Eis o que diz o Senhor: Erguei-vos! Atacai Cedar! Aniquilai os filhos do oriente!
29 Their tents and their flocks, shall they take, And their curtains and all their baggage b and their camels, shall they carry off for themselves,And shall cry out unto them, Terror round about!
29 Sejam-lhes as tendas arrebatadas e os rebanhos! E que se lhes tirem os pavilhões, bagagens e camelos ao grito de: Que o terror se espalhe!
30 Flee remove far away, go deep to dwell, Ye inhabitants of Hazor, Urgeth Yahweh; For Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylonhath counseled against you, a counsel, And devised against you a device.
30 Salvai-vos! Fugi a toda pressa, ocultai-vos em esconderijos, habitantes de Asor - oráculo do Senhor.
31 Arise ye, go up against a nation at easedwelling securely, Commandeth Yahweh,Having neither doors nor bars, Alone, do they dwell:
31 Erguei-vos! Atacai um povo pacífico que vive em segurança - oráculo do Senhor - e que habita sozinho, sem portas nem ferrolhos.
32 So shall their camels, become, a prey, And the throng of their cattle, a spoil, Then will I scatter them to every wind even the clipt-beards,And from all sides of him, will I bring in their doom Declareth Yahweh.
32 Sejam seus camelos a vossa presa e seus rebanhos numerosos o vosso espólio! Espalharei por todos os ventos esses homens de cabelos raspados, e de toda parte lançarei sobre eles a desgraça, - oráculo do Senhor.
33 So shall Hazor become A habitation of jackals An astonishment unto times age-abiding: There shall not dwell therea man, Nor sojourn thereina son of the earth-born.
33 Asor tornar-se-á guarida de chacais, eterna solidão onde ninguém mais habitará, e onde doravante nenhum ser humano permanecerá.
34 So much of the word of Yahweh as came unto Jeremiah the prophet, Against Elam,in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah saying:
34 Palavra do Senhor dirigida ao profeta Jeremias acerca de Elão, no começo do reinado de Sedecias, rei de Judá, nestes termos:
35 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Behold me! breaking the bow of Elam,The beginning of their might;
35 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Vou quebrar o arco de Elão, e o melhor de sua força.
36 Then will I bring in against Elam four winds from the four quarters of the heavens, And will scatter them to all these winds,And there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam, shall not come;
36 Mandarei vir sobre Elão os quatro ventos, dos quatro cantos do céu. E esses ventos os dispersarei. Não haverá nação onde não cheguem fugitivos de Elão.
37 And I will cause Elam to be dismayed Before their enemies Even before them who are seeking their life, So will I bring upon them calamity, Even the glow of mine anger Declareth Yahweh,And will send after them the sword, until I have made an end of them;
37 Farei tremer os elamitas diante de seus inimigos, e ante aqueles que tramam contra sua vida; precipitarei calamidades sobre eles: o fogo de minha cólera - oráculo do Senhor - e lançarei sobre eles a espada até que sejam exterminados.
38 And I will set my throne in Elam,And will destroy, from thence king and princes, Declareth Yahweh;
38 Colocarei meu trono em Elão, e mandarei matar o rei e os chefes - oráculo do Senhor.
39 But it shall come to pass In the afterpart of the days, That I will bring back the captivity of Elam, Declareth Yahweh.
39 Com o correr dos tempos, porém, mudarei a sorte de Elão - oráculo do Senhor.
