1 And the word of Yahweh came unto Jeremiah, the second time, when he was yet imprisoned in the guard-court, saying:
1 Enquanto Jeremias estava preso no pátio da guarda, o S enhor lhe deu outra mensagem:
2 Thus, saith Yahweh, who doeth it,Yahweh, who fashioneth it to establish it, Yahweh, is his name:
2 “Assim diz o S enhor , o S enhor que fez a terra, que a formou e a estabeleceu; o S enhor é seu nome:
3 Call unto me that I may answer thee,and tell thee things great and inaccessible, which thou hast not known.
3 Pergunte-me e eu lhe contarei coisas maravilhosas, segredos que você não sabe, a respeito do que está por vir.
4 For, Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah,which are thrown down against the earthworks and against the sword:
4 Pois assim diz o S enhor , o Deus de Israel: Vocês derrubaram as casas desta cidade e até o palácio do rei a fim de obter material para fortalecer os muros contra as rampas de cerco e as espadas dos inimigos.
5 In entering to fight with the Chaldeans, it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have smitten in mine anger and in mine indignation,and because of whom I have hidden my face from this city,by reason of all their wickedness.
5 Esperam lutar contra os babilônios, mas os homens desta cidade já estão praticamente mortos, pois, em minha ira ardente, decidi destruí-los. Abandonei-os por causa de toda a sua maldade.
6 Behold me! laying upon her a bandage of healing, so will I heal them,And will reveal to them abundance of prosperity and truth;
6 “Virá o dia, porém, em que curarei as feridas de Jerusalém e lhe darei prosperidade e paz verdadeira.
7 And I will bring back Them of the captivity of Judah, and Them of the captivity of Israel,And I will build them, as at the first;
7 Restaurarei o povo de Judá e de Israel à sua terra e reconstruirei suas cidades.
8 And I will purify them, from all their iniquity wherewith they have sinned against me,And I will grant pardon for all their iniquities Wherewith they have sinned against me, and Wherewith they have transgressed against me;
8 Eu as purificarei de suas maldades contra mim e perdoarei todos os seus pecados de rebeldia.
9 So shall she become to meA name of joy, A praise and An adorning, To all the nations of the earth,Who will hear all the good which I am doing them, And will dread and be deeply moved over all the good and over all the prosperity which I am causing her.
9 Então esta cidade me trará louvor, glória e honra diante de todas as nações da terra! Os povos do mundo verão todo o bem que faço por meu povo e tremerão de espanto diante da paz e da prosperidade que lhes dou.
10 Thus, saith YahwehAgain, shall be heard in this place, as to which ye are saying, Deserted, it is without man or beast, In the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, Which are desolate without man or inhabitant or beast
10 “Assim diz o S enhor : Vocês disseram: ‘Esta é uma terra desolada, onde não há mais pessoas nem animais’. Contudo, nas ruas vazias de Jerusalém e das outras cidades de Judá serão ouvidos novamente
11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness The voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, The voice of them who are saying, Praise ye Yahweh of hosts, For good is Yahweh For age-abiding is his lovingkindness, The voice of them who are bringing a thank-offering into the house of Yahweh,For I will bring back the captives of the land, as at the first, Saith Yahweh.
11 os sons de alegria e de riso. As vozes felizes de noivos e de noivas voltarão a ser ouvidas, e também os cânticos alegres dos que trazem ofertas de gratidão ao S enhor . Cantarão: ‘Deem graças ao S porque o S seu amor dura para sempre!’. Pois eu restaurarei a situação desta terra ao que era no passado, diz o S
12 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Again, shall there be in this placeWhich is deserted without man or even beastAnd all the cities thereof,The home of shepherds, causing flocks to lie down.
12 “Assim diz o S enhor dos Exércitos: Embora hoje esta terra esteja desolada e não tenha pessoas nem animais, um dia voltará a ter pastos para os quais os pastores levarão seus rebanhos.
13 In the cities of the hill country, In the cities of the lowland, and In the cities of the South, and In the land of Benjamin, and In the places round about Jerusalem, and In the cities of Judah, Again shall the flock pass over the hands of the numberer, Saith Yahweh.
13 Os pastores voltarão a contar seus rebanhos nas cidades da região montanhosa, nas colinas de Judá, no Neguebe, na terra de Benjamim, nos arredores de Jerusalém e em todas as cidades de Judá. Eu, o S enhor , falei!
14 Lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh,when I will establish my good word, which I have spokenAs to the house of Israel And concerning the house of Judah:
14 “Virá o dia, diz o S enhor , em que farei por Israel e por Judá todo o bem que lhes prometi.
15 In those days and at that time, will I cause to bud unto David A Bud of righteousness,And he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land:
15 “Naquele dia e naquele tempo, levantarei um Renovo, um descendente justo da linhagem do rei Davi. Ele fará o que é justo e certo em toda a terra.
16 In those days, Judah shall be Saved, and I Jerusalem abide, securely,And, this, is that which shall be proclaimed to herYahweh, our righteousness!
16 Nesse dia, Judá será salvo, e Jerusalém viverá em segurança. E este será seu nome: ‘O S
17 For, Thus, saith Yahweh,There shall not be wanting to DavidA man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
17 Porque assim diz o S enhor : Sempre haverá um descendente de Davi no trono de Israel.
18 Nor to the priests the Levites, shall there be wantingA man, before me, To offer an ascending-sacrifice, or To make a perfume with a gift, or To offer a offering, all the days!
18 E sempre haverá sacerdotes levitas para me oferecer holocaustos, ofertas de cereais e sacrifícios”.
19 And the word of Yahweh came unto Jeremiah saying:
19 Então Jeremias recebeu esta mensagem do S enhor :
20 Thus, saith Yahweh, If ye can break, My covenant of the day, and My covenant of the night, That there be not day and night in their season,
20 “Assim diz o S enhor : Se alguém conseguisse anular minha aliança com o dia e com a noite, de modo que um não viesse depois do outro,
21 My covenant also, may be broken With David my servant, that he shall not have a son, to reign upon his throne,And with the Levites the priests, mine attendants:
21 então se anularia minha aliança com meu servo Davi. Só então deixaria de haver um descendente para reinar em seu trono. O mesmo se aplica à minha aliança com os sacerdotes levitas que me servem.
22 As, the host of the heavens, cannot be recorded, Nor the sand of the sea, be measured, So, will I multiply, The seed of David my servant, And the Levites who attend upon me.
22 Como não se pode contar as estrelas no céu nem medir a areia na beira do mar, assim também tornarei incontáveis os descendentes de meu servo Davi e os levitas que me servem”.
23 And the word of Yahweh came unto Jeremiah, saying:
23 O S enhor deu outra mensagem a Jeremias:
24 Hast thou not observed what, this people, have spoken saying, The two families which Yahweh did choose, he hath even east them off? And so, my people, they despise, as though they could not again become a nation in their sight!
24 “Você observou o que o povo anda dizendo? ‘O S enhor escolheu Judá e Israel e depois os abandonou!’ Desprezam meu povo e dizem que não deve ser considerada nação.
25 Thus, saith Yahweh, If my covenant of day and night, the ordinances of the heavens and the earth, I did not appoint,
25 Mas assim diz o S enhor : Como não anularei minhas leis que governam o dia e a noite, o céu e a terra, assim também não rejeitarei meu povo.
26 The seed of Jacob also and of David my servant, might I east off so as not to take of his seed as rulers unto the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,For I will bring back them of their captivity, and will have compassion upon them.
26 Jamais abandonarei os descendentes de Jacó e de meu servo Davi, nem mudarei o plano de que os descendentes de Davi governem os descendentes de Abraão, Isaque e Jacó. Pelo contrário, eu os restaurarei à sua terra e terei compaixão deles”.
