1 Thus, said Yahweh unto me,Go and buy for thyself a linen girdle, and put upon thy loins,but in water, shalt thou not place it.
1 Assim me disse o Senhor: "Vá comprar um cinto de linho e ponha-o em volta da cintura, mas não o deixe encostar na água".
2 So I bought a girdle according to the word of Yahweh,and put upon my loins.
2 Comprei um cinto e o pus em volta da cintura, como o Senhor me havia instruído.
3 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me second time saying:
3 O Senhor me dirigiu a palavra pela segunda vez, dizendo:
4 Take the girdle which thou hast bought which is upon thy loins,and arise go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the cliff.
4 "Pegue o cinto que você comprou e está usando, vá agora a Perate e esconda-o ali numa fenda da rocha".
5 So I went, and hid it, by the Euphrates, as Yahweh had commanded me.
5 Assim, fui e o escondi em Perate, conforme o Senhor me havia ordenado.
6 And it came to pass, at the end of many days,that Yahweh said unto me,Arise go to the Euphrates, and take from thence the girdle, which I commanded thee to hide there.
6 Depois de muitos dias, o Senhor me disse: "Vá agora a Perate e pegue o cinto que lhe ordenei que escondesse ali".
7 So I went to the Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle out of the place where I had hidden it,and lo! the girdle was spoiled, it was good for nothing, s
7 Então fui a Perate, desenterrei o cinto e o tirei do lugar em que o havia escondido. O cinto estava podre e se tornara completamente inútil.
8 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me saying:
8 E o Senhor dirigiu-me a palavra, dizendo:
9 Thus, saith Yahweh,After this manner, will I spoil the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.
9 "Assim diz o Senhor: Do mesmo modo também arruinarei o orgulho de Judá e o orgulho desmedido de Jerusalém.
10 This wicked people who are refusing to hear my words, who are walking in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods, to serve them and to bow down to them, yea let them be like this girdle, which is good for nothing.
10 Este povo ímpio, que se recusa a ouvir as minhas palavras, que age segundo a dureza de seus corações, seguindo outros deuses para prestar-lhes culto e adorá-los, que este povo seja como aquele cinto: completamente inútil!
11 For as a girdle cleaveth unto the loins of a man, so caused I to cleave unto methe whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah Declareth Yahweh, to become mineFor a people, and For a name, and For a praise and For an adorning,but they hearkened not.
11 Assim como um cinto se apega à cintura de um homem, da mesma forma fiz com que toda a comunidade de Israel e toda a comunidade de Judá se apegasse a mim, para que fosse o meu povo para o meu renome, louvor e honra. Mas eles não me ouviram", declara o Senhor.
12 Therefore shalt thou say unto them this wordThus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Every jar, is to be filled with wine; and they will say unto thee, Do we not, know well, that every jar, is to be filled with wine?
12 "Diga-lhes também: ‘Assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: Deve-se encher de vinho toda vasilha de couro’. E, se eles lhe disserem: ‘Será que não sabemos que se deve encher de vinho toda vasilha de couro? ’
13 Then shalt thou say unto themThus, saith YahwehBehold me! filling all the inhabitants of this land Even the kings that are sitting for David upon his throne and the priests and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalemwith drunkenness;
13 Então você lhes dirá: ‘Assim diz o Senhor: Farei com que fiquem totalmente embriagados todos os habitantes desta terra, bem como os reis que se assentam no trono de Davi, os sacerdotes, os profetas e todos os habitantes de Jerusalém.
14 and I will dash them every man against his brother even the fathers and the sons together, Declareth Yahweh,I will not pity, Neither will I snare Neither will I have compassion that I should not destroy them.
14 Eu os despedaçarei, colocando uns contra os outros, os pais e os filhos, diz o Senhor. Nem a piedade, nem a misericórdia nem a compaixão me impedirão de destruí-los’ ".
15 Hear ye and give ear, be not haughty,For Yahweh, hath spoken.
15 Escutem e dêem atenção, não sejam arrogantes, pois o Senhor falou.
16 Give ye to Yahweh your Godglory, Before he cause darkness, and Before your feet stumble upon the twilight mountains; Lest, when ye wait for light, He turn it into the shadow of death, And change it for thick darkness.
16 Dêem glória ao Senhor, ao seu Deus, antes que ele traga trevas, antes que os pés de vocês tropecem nas colinas ao escurecer. Vocês esperam a luz, mas ele fará dela uma escuridão profunda sim, ele a transformará em densas trevas.
17 But if ye will not hear it, In secret places, shall my soul weep Because of the pride, And mine eye, shall flow over, and run down with tears, Because captive hath been taken the flock of Yahweh.
17 Mas, se vocês não ouvirem, eu chorarei em segredo por causa do orgulho de vocês. Chorarei amargamente, e de lágrimas os meus olhos transbordarão, porque o rebanho do Senhor foi levado para o cativeiro.
18 Say thou to the king and to the queen-mother, Abase yourselvesSit down,For descended have your Head-tires, your Crown of adornment.
18 Diga-se ao rei e à rainha-mãe: "Desçam do trono, pois as suas coroas gloriosas caíram de suas cabeças".
19 The cities of the South, are shut And there is none to open,Judah hath been carried away captive, She hath altogether been carried away captive in full number.
19 As cidades do Neguebe estão bloqueadas e não há quem nelas consiga entrar. Todo o Judá foi levado para o exílio, todos os exilados.
20 Lift up your eyes and see Them who are coming in from the North,Where is The flock that was given thee, Thy beautiful flock?
20 Erga os olhos, Jerusalém, e veja aqueles que vêm do norte. Onde está o rebanho que lhe foi confiado, as ovelhas das quais você se orgulhava?
21 What wilt thou say when he shall bring punishment upon thee, Since, thou thyself, hast accustomed them to be over thee as friends in chief? Shall not, pangs, seize thee, as of a woman in childbirth?
21 O que você dirá quando sobre você dominarem aqueles que você sempre teve como aliados? Você não irá sentir dores como as de uma mulher em trabalho de parto?
22 But if thou say in thy heart, Wherefore have these things befallen me? For the greatness of thine iniquity have Thy skirts been turned aside Thy heels suffered violence!
22 E se você se perguntar: ‘Por que aconteceu isso comigo? ’, saiba que foi por causa dos seus muitos pecados que as suas vestes foram levantadas e você foi violentada.
23 Can the Ethiopian change, his skin, Or the leopard his spots? Even, ye, may be able to do right, Who are accustomed e to do wrong.
23 Será que o etíope pode mudar a sua pele? Ou o leopardo as suas pintas? Assim também vocês são incapazes de fazer o bem, vocês que estão acostumados a praticar o mal.
24 Therefore have I scattered them, As broken straw passing away, by the wind of the desert.
24 "Espalharei vocês como a palha levada pelo vento do deserto.
25 This is thy lot Thy measured portion from me, Declareth Yahweh; For that thou didst forget me, And confide in falsehood:
25 Esta é a sua parte, a porção que lhe determinei", declara o Senhor, "porque você se esqueceu de mim e confiou em deuses falsos.
26 Therefore, even I myself, have drawn away thy skirts, over thy face, And thy shame hath been seen,
26 Eu mesmo levantarei as suas vestes até o seu rosto para que as suas vergonhas sejam expostas,
27 Thine adulteries and thy neighings, thine unchaste wickedness, Upon the hills in the field, I have seen thine abominations! Woe to thee, O Jerusalem, Wilt thou not become pure? After how long yet?
27 Tenho visto os seus atos repugnantes os seus adultérios, os seus relinchos, a sua prostituição desavergonhada sobre as colinas e nos campos. Ai de você, Jerusalém! Até quando você continuará impura? "
