1 Jesus, therefore, six days before the passover, came unto Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from among the dead.
1 Seis dias antes da Páscoa, Jesus foi para Betânia, onde estava Lázaro, a quem ele tinha ressuscitado dentre os mortos.
2 So they made for him a supper, there; and, Martha, was ministering, but, Lazarus, was one of them who were reclining with him.
2 Prepararam-lhe, ali, uma ceia. Marta servia, e Lázaro era um dos que estavam à mesa com Jesus.
3 Mary, therefore, taking a pound of pure nard perfume, very precious, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped, with her hair, his feet; and, the house, was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
3 Então Maria, pegando um frasco de perfume de nardo puro, muito precioso, ungiu os pés de Jesus e os enxugou com os seus cabelos. E toda a casa se encheu com o cheiro do perfume.
4 But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, he that was about to deliver him up, saith
4 Mas Judas Iscariotes, um dos seus discípulos, aquele que estava para trair Jesus, disse:
5 Why was, this perfume, not sold for three hundred denaries, and given unto the destitute?
5 — Por que este perfume não foi vendido por trezentos denários e o valor não foi dado aos pobres?
6 Howbeit he said this, not that, for the destitute, he cared, but because, a thief, he was, and holding, the bag, used to carry away, what was cast therein.
6 Ele disse isso não porque se preocupava com os pobres, mas porque era ladrão e, tendo a bolsa do dinheiro, tirava o que era colocado nela.
7 Jesus, therefore, saidLet her alone, that, for the day of my burial, she may observe it;
7 Mas Jesus disse:
8 For, the destitute, always, have ye with you, whereas, me, not always, have ye.
8 Porque os pobres estão sempre com vocês, mas a mim vocês nem sempre terão.
9 The great multitude of the Jews, therefore, got to know that he was, there, and came, not on account of Jesus only, but that, Lazarus also, they might see, whom he had raised from among the dead.
9 Uma numerosa multidão dos judeus ficou sabendo que Jesus estava em Betânia. Eles foram até lá não só por causa dele, mas também para ver Lázaro, a quem ele tinha ressuscitado dentre os mortos.
10 But the High-priests took counsel, that Lazarus also, they might put to death;
10 Mas os principais sacerdotes resolveram matar também Lázaro,
11 because, many of the Jews, by reason of him, were withdrawing, and believing on Jesus.
11 porque muitos dos judeus, por causa dele, voltavam crendo em Jesus.
12 On the morrow, the great multitude that had come unto the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming into Jerusalem,
12 No dia seguinte, a numerosa multidão que tinha vindo à festa, tendo ouvido que Jesus estava a caminho de Jerusalém,
13 took the branches of the palm trees, and went out to meet him, and began crying aloudHosanna! Blessed is he that is coming in the name of the Lord,even the King of Israel!
13 pegou ramos de palmeiras e saiu ao encontro dele, clamando: “Hosana! Bendito o que vem em nome do Senhor e que é Rei de Israel!”
14 And Jesus, finding a young ass, took his seat thereon, just as it is written
14 E Jesus, tendo conseguido um jumentinho, montou-o, segundo está escrito:
15 Do not fear, O daughter of Zion! Lo! thy king, cometh, sitting upon the colt of an ass.
15 “Não tema, filha de Sião, eis que o seu Rei está vindo, montado num filho de jumenta.”
16 These things, his disciples noticed not, at the first; but, when Jesus was glorified, then, remembered they that, these things, had, for him, been written,and that, these things, they had done unto him.
16 Seus discípulos a princípio não compreenderam isso. Mas, quando Jesus foi glorificado, então eles se lembraram de que essas coisas estavam escritas a respeito dele e também de que tinham feito isso com ele.
17 The multitude, therefore, that was with him when he called, Lazarus, out of the tomb, and raised him from among the dead, was bearing witness.
17 A multidão que estava com Jesus quando ele chamou Lázaro do túmulo e o levantou dentre os mortos dava testemunho.
18 On this account, the multitude met him also, because they heard that he had done, this sign.
18 Por causa disso, também, a multidão saiu ao encontro de Jesus, pois ouviu que ele tinha feito esse sinal.
19 the Pharisees, therefore, said among themselvesYe observe that ye are profiting nothing: See! the world, after him, hath gone away.
19 Então os fariseus disseram entre si: — Vocês podem ver que não estão conseguindo nada! Eis que o mundo vai atrás dele.
20 Now there were certain Greeks, from among them who were coming up that they might worship in the feast.
20 Ora, entre os que foram para adorar durante a festa, havia alguns gregos.
21 These, therefore, came unto Philip, him who was from Bethsaida of Galilee,and were requesting him, sayingSir! We desire to see, Jesus.
21 Estes se dirigiram a Filipe, que era de Betsaida da Galileia, e lhe pediram: — Senhor, queremos ver Jesus.
22 Philip cometh, and telleth Andrew: Andrew and Philip come, and tell Jesus.
22 Filipe foi dizê-lo a André, e André e Filipe o comunicaram a Jesus.
23 But, Jesus, answereth them, sayingThe hour hath come, that the Son of Man should be glorified!
23 Então Jesus se dirigiu a eles, dizendo:
24 Verily! Verily, I say unto you: Except, the kernel of wheat, shall fall into the ground, and die, it, alone, abideth; but, if it die, much fruit, it beareth.
24 Em verdade, em verdade lhes digo: se o grão de trigo, caindo na terra, não morrer, fica ele só; mas, se morrer, produz muito fruto.
25 He that loveth his life, loseth it; but, he that hateth his life, in this world, unto life age-abiding, shall guard it.
25 Quem ama a sua vida perde-a; mas aquele que odeia a sua vida neste mundo irá preservá-la para a vida eterna.
26 If, with me, anyone be ministering, with me, let him be following; and, where, I, am, there, my minister also, shall be. If anyone, with me, be ministering, the Father, will honour him.
26 Se alguém me serve, siga-me, e, onde eu estou, ali estará também o meu servo. E, se alguém me servir, meu Pai o honrará.
27 Now, is my soul troubled,and what can I say? Father! save me from this hour? But, on this account, came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name!
27 — Agora a minha alma está angustiada, e o que direi? “Pai, salva-me desta hora”? Não, pois foi precisamente com este propósito que eu vim para esta hora.
28 There came, therefore, a voice out of heavenI both have glorified it, and will glorify it again.
28 Pai, glorifica o teu nome. Então veio uma voz do céu: — Eu já o glorifiquei e ainda o glorificarei.
29 So , the multitude that was standing by, and heard it, were sayingIt hath, thundered. Others, were sayingA messenger, unto him, hath spoken.
29 A multidão que ali estava e que ouviu aquela voz dizia ter havido um trovão. Outros diziam: — Foi um anjo que lhe falou.
30 Jesus answered, and saidNot for my sake, hath this voice come, but, for your sake.
30 Então Jesus explicou:
31 Now, is there, a judging, of this world,Now, the ruler of this world, shall be cast out;
31 Chegou o momento de este mundo ser julgado, e agora o seu príncipe será expulso.
32 And, I, if I be lifted up out of the earth, will draw, all, unto myself.
32 E eu, quando for levantado da terra, atrairei todos a mim.
33 But, this, he was saying, signifying, by what manner of death, he was about to die.
33 Ele dizia isto, significando com que tipo de morte estava para morrer.
34 The multitude, therefore, answered himWe, have heard, out of the law, that, the Christ, abideth evermore; How then dost, thou, say,It behoveth the Son of Man to be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?
34 A multidão disse: — Nós ouvimos da Lei que o Cristo permanece para sempre. Como, então, você diz que é necessário que o Filho do Homem seja levantado? Quem é esse Filho do Homem?
35 Jesus, therefore, said unto themYet a little while, the light, is, among you: Walk, while ye have, the light, lest, darkness, on you should lay hold; and, he that walketh in darkness, knoweth not whither he drifteth.
35 Jesus respondeu:
36 While, the light, ye have, believe on the light, that, sons of light, ye may become. These things, spake Jesus,and, departing, was hid from them.
36 Enquanto vocês têm a luz, creiam na luz, para que se tornem filhos da luz. Depois de dizer isso, Jesus foi embora e ocultou-se deles.
37 And, although such signs, as these, he had done before them, they were not believing on him:
37 E, embora tivesse feito tantos sinais na presença deles, não creram nele,
38 that, the word of Isaiah the prophet, might be fulfilled, which saidLord! who believed, what we have heard? And, the arm of the Lord, to whom, was it revealed?
38 para se cumprir a palavra do profeta Isaías, que diz: “Senhor, quem creu em nossa pregação? E a quem foi revelado o braço do Senhor?”
39 On this account, they could not believe, because, again, said Isaiah
39 Por isso, não podiam crer, porque Isaías disse ainda:
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; lest they should see with their eyes, and should understand with their heart, and should turn,and I should heal them.
40 “Cegou os olhos deles e endureceu-lhes o coração, para que não vejam com os olhos, nem entendam com o coração, e se convertam, e sejam por mim curados.”
41 These things, said Isaiah, because he saw his glory, and spake concerning him.
41 Isaías disse isso porque viu a glória dele e falou a respeito dele.
42 Nevertheless, however, even from among the rulers, many believed on him; but, because of the Pharisees, they were not confessing him, lest, excommunicants from the synagogue, they should be made;
42 No entanto, muitos dentre as próprias autoridades creram em Jesus, mas, por causa dos fariseus, não o confessavam, para não serem expulsos da sinagoga.
43 for they loved the glory of men, more than the glory of God.
43 Porque amaram mais a glória dos homens do que a glória de Deus.
44 And, Jesus, cried aloud, and saidHe that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me;
44 E Jesus clamou, dizendo:
45 And, he that vieweth me, vieweth him that sent me.
45 E quem vê a mim vê aquele que me enviou.
46 I, a light, into the world have come, that, no one who believeth on me, in darkness, should abide.
46 Eu vim como luz para o mundo, a fim de que todo aquele que crê em mim não permaneça nas trevas.
47 And, if anyone shall hearken unto my sayings, and not guard them, I, am not judging him; for I came not that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world.
47 Se alguém ouvir as minhas palavras e não as guardar, eu não o julgo. Porque eu não vim para julgar o mundo, e sim para salvá-lo.
48 He that setteth me aside, and receiveth not my sayings, hath that which is to judge him: The word that I spake, that, will judge him, in the last day.
48 Quem me rejeita e não recebe as minhas palavras tem quem o julgue; a própria palavra que falei, essa o julgará no último dia.
49 Because, I, out of myself, spake not, but, the Father who sent me, hath, himself, given me commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
49 Porque eu não falei por mim mesmo, mas o Pai, que me enviou, esse me ordenou o que dizer e o que anunciar.
50 And I know that, his commandment, is, life age-abiding; The things, therefore, which I speak, just as the Father hath told me, so, I speak.
50 E sei que o seu mandamento é a vida eterna. Portanto, as coisas que eu digo, digo exatamente assim como o Pai me falou.
