1 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
1 E o SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
2 Speak unto the sons of Israel, that they turn back and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea,before Baal-zephon, over against it, shall ye encamp, by the sea.
2 Dize aos filhos de Israel, para que voltem e acampem diante de Pi-Hairote, entre Migdol e o mar, diante de Baal-Zefom; diante dele acampareis junto ao mar.
3 Then will Pharaoh say, of the sons of Israel, Entangled, they are in the land,the desert hath closed in upon them.
3 Porque Faraó dirá dos filhos de Israel: Eles estão encurralados na terra, o deserto os encerrou.
4 So will I let the heart of Pharaoh wax bold, and he will pursue them, that I may get me honour over Pharaoh, and over all his forces, and the Egyptians shall know, that I, am Yahweh. And they did so.
4 E eu endurecerei o coração de Faraó, para que ele os persiga. E eu serei honrado sobre Faraó, e sobre todo o seu exército, para que os egípcios saibam que eu sou o SENHOR. E assim eles fizeram.
5 And it was told the king of Egypt, that the people had fled,and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people, and they saidWhat is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
5 E se contou ao rei do Egito que o povo havia fugido. E o coração de Faraó e de seus servos virou-se contra o povo, e eles disseram: Por que fizemos isto, deixando que Israel saísse e deixasse de nos servir?
6 So he yoked his chariot,and his people, took he with him.
6 E aprontou a sua carruagem, e tomou o seu povo consigo,
7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt,with warriors in every one.
7 e tomou seiscentas carruagens escolhidas, e todas as carruagens do Egito, e os capitães sobre todos eles.
8 And Yahweh let the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt wax bold, and he pursued the sons of Israel,when the sons of Israel, were going out with a high hand.
8 E o SENHOR endureceu o coração de Faraó, rei do Egito, e ele perseguiu os filhos de Israel; e os filhos de Israel saíram com braço erguido.
9 So the Egyptians pursued them and overtook them, encamping by the seaall the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his forces,by Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.
9 Mas os egípcios os perseguiram com todos os cavalos e carruagens de Faraó, e seus cavaleiros, e seu exército, e os alcançaram acampados junto ao mar, perto de Pi-Hairote, diante de Baal-Zefom.
10 Now when, Pharaoh, had drawn near, the sons of Israel lifted up their eyes, and lo! the Egyptians, moving along after them and they feared greatly, and the sons of Israel made outcry unto Yahweh.
10 E quando Faraó se aproximou, os filhos de Israel levantaram os seus olhos e eis que os egípcios estavam marchando atrás deles; e eles ficaram com medo, e os filhos de Israel clamaram ao SENHOR.
11 Then said they unto Moses, Was it because there were no graves in Egypt, that thou didst fetch us to die in the desert? What is this thou hast done to us, bringing us forth out of Egypt?
11 E disseram a Moisés: Porque não havia sepulcros no Egito nos levaste embora para morrermos no deserto? Por que agiste assim conosco para nos tirar do Egito?
12 Is not this the word which we spake unto thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians,for it is better for us, to serve the Egyptians, than to die in the desert?
12 Não é esta a palavra que te falamos no Egito, dizendo: Deixa-nos sozinhos, para que sirvamos aos egípcios? Pois melhor nos seria servir aos egípcios do que morrermos no deserto.
13 And Moses said unto the peopleDo not fear, stand still and see the salvation of Yahweh, which be will work for you to-day,for as for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to-day, ye shall not again see them any more to times age-abiding.
13 E Moisés disse ao povo: Não temais, aquietai-vos e vede a salvação do SENHOR, que ele hoje vos fará; porque aos egípcios que hoje vistes, nunca mais tornareis a ver.
14 Yahweh, will fight for you,and, ye, shall forbear.
14 O SENHOR lutará por vós, e tereis vossa paz.
15 And Yahweh said unto Moses, What outcry wouldst thou make unto me? Speak unto the sons of Israel, that they go forward;
15 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Por que clamas a mim? Dize aos filhos de Israel que avancem.
16 and, thou, lift high thy staff and stretch forth thy hand over the sea and cleave it asunder,that the sons of Israel may enter into the midst of the sea on dry ground;
16 Mas tu, levanta o teu cajado, e estende a tua mão sobre o mar, e divide-o, e os filhos de Israel irão por solo seco pelo meio do mar.
17 and, I, behold me letting the heart of the Egyptians wax bold, that they may enter after them,that I may get me honour over Pharaoh and over his forces, over his chariots, and over his horsemen,
17 E eis que, eu endurecerei o coração dos egípcios, e eles os seguirão, e eu obterei honra sobre Faraó, e sobre todo o seu exército, sobre suas carruagens, e sobre os seus cavaleiros.
18 And the Egyptians shall know, that, I, am Yahweh,when I have gotten me honour over Pharaoh, over his chariots and over his horsemen.
18 E os egípcios saberão que eu sou o SENHOR, quando eu tiver obtido honra sobre Faraó, sobre as suas carruagens, e sobre os seus cavaleiros.
19 And the messenger of God who was going on before the camp of Israel removed, and came on behind them,and the pillar of cloud removed from before them, and stood behind them;
19 E o anjo de Deus, que ia adiante do acampamento de Israel, retirou-se e foi atrás deles, e a coluna foi de diante da face deles, e se colocou atrás deles,
20 so it came in between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel, so it became a cloud and darkness, and yet lighted up the night,so that the one came not near unto the other, all the night.
20 e se colocou entre o acampamento dos egípcios e o acampamento de Israel, e havia uma nuvem e escuridão para eles, mas clareava a noite para estes; de maneira que não se aproximou um do outro durante toda a noite.
21 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and Yahweh carried away the sea by a mighty east wind all the night, and turned the sea into dry land,and the waters were cloven asunder.
21 E Moisés estendeu a sua mão sobre o mar, e o SENHOR fez o mar voltar por meio de um forte vento oriental durante toda aquela noite, e fez do mar terra seca, e as águas foram divididas.
22 Then went the sons of Israel into the midst of the sea on the dry ground,and, the waters, to them, were a wall, on their right hand and on their left.
22 E os filhos de Israel entraram pelo meio do mar sobre a terra seca, e as águas eram para eles como um muro à sua direita, e à sua esquerda.
23 And the Egyptians pursued, and entered after themall the horses of Pharaoh his chariots and his horsemen,into the midst of the sea.
23 E os egípcios seguiram, e entraram atrás deles até o meio do mar, com todos os cavalos de Faraó, as suas carruagens e os seus cavaleiros.
24 And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Yahweh looked down into the camp of the Egyptians, through the pillar of fire and cloud, and confused the camp of the Egyptians;
24 E aconteceu que, na vigília da manhã, o SENHOR olhou para o exército dos egípcios por entre a coluna de fogo e de nuvem, e incomodou o exército dos egípcios,
25 and he took off the wheels of their chariots, and made them drive heavily,so that the Egyptians saidWe must flee from the face of Israel, for Yahweh, is fighting for them against the Egyptians.
25 e torceu os eixos das rodas de suas carruagens, para que eles andassem pesadamente. Então disseram os egípcios: Fujamos da face de Israel, porque o SENHOR luta por eles contra os egípcios.
26 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Stretch forth thy hand over the sea,that the waters may return upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
26 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Estende a tua mão sobre o mar, para que as águas venham novamente sobre os egípcios, sobre as suas carruagens e sobre os seus cavaleiros.
27 So Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea and the sea returned, towards morning, to its steady flow, when the Egyptians, were fleeing to meet it,thus Yahweh shook off the Egyptians into the midst of the sea;
27 E Moisés estendeu a sua mão sobre o mar, e o mar voltou à sua força ao amanhecer, e os egípcios fugiram contra ele. E o SENHOR derrubou os egípcios no meio do mar.
28 thus the waters returned and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, even all the forces of Pharaoh that were entering after them into the sea,there was not left remaining among them so much as one.
28 E as águas retornaram e cobriram as carruagens, e os cavaleiros, e todo o exército de Faraó que entrou no mar depois deles; não restou nenhum deles.
29 But the sons of Israel, had gone their way on dry ground in the saidst of the sea,and the waters had been to them a wall, on their right hand and on their left.
29 Mas os filhos de Israel caminharam sobre terra seca no meio do mar; e as águas eram para eles como um muro à sua direita e à sua esquerda.
30 Thus did Yahweh, on that day, save Israel, out of the hand of the Egyptians,and Israel saw the Egyptians, dead on the shore of the sea.
30 Assim, naquele dia, o SENHOR salvou Israel da mão dos egípcios; e Israel viu os egípcios mortos na praia do mar.
31 And when Israel saw the mighty hand wherewith Yahweh had wrought against the Egyptians, then did the people revere Yahweh,and they put their trust in Yahweh, and in Moses, his servant.
31 E Israel viu a grande obra que o SENHOR fez sobre os egípcios, e o povo temeu ao SENHOR e creu no SENHOR, e no seu servo Moisés.
