Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs NVT
1 But, when the seventh month was come, and the sons of Israel were in cities, then did the people gather themselves together as one man, unto Jerusalem.
1 No sétimo mês, quando os israelitas já haviam se estabelecido em suas cidades, todo o povo se reuniu em Jerusalém com um só propósito.
2 Then aroseJeshua son of Jozadak and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and his brethren, and built the altar of the God of Israel,to offer thereon ascending-sacrifices, as it was written in the law of Moses, the man of God.
2 Então Jesua, filho de Jeozadaque, juntou-se a seus colegas, os sacerdotes, e a Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, e seus companheiros, para reconstruir o altar do Deus de Israel. Queriam apresentar holocaustos ali, conforme a instrução da lei de Moisés, homem de Deus.
3 So they settled the altar upon its stands, for, dread, was upon them, because of the peoples of the countries,therefore caused they to go up thereon, ascending-sacrifices unto Yahweh, ascending-sacrifices for the morning and for the evening.
3 Embora o povo tivesse medo dos habitantes daquela região, reconstruíram o altar no mesmo lugar original. Assim, começaram a oferecer holocaustos no altar do S enhor todas as manhãs e todas as tardes.
4 And they kept the festival of booths, as it was written,and the ascending-offering of each day upon its own day, by number, according to regulation, the matter of a day upon its day;
4 Celebraram a Festa das Cabanas, conforme prescrito pela lei, e ofereceram o número de holocaustos especificado para cada dia da festa.
5 and, afterwards, the continual ascending-sacrifice, and, on the new moons, and on all the appointed seasons of Yahweh, the hallowed things,also for every one that volunteered a voluntary offering unto Yahweh.
5 Ofereceram ainda os holocaustos regulares e as ofertas exigidas para as celebrações da lua nova e para as festas anuais do S enhor . O povo também trouxe ofertas voluntárias para o S enhor .
6 From the first day of the seventh month, began they to offer up ascending-sacrifices unto Yahweh,but, the temple of Yahweh, had not had its foundation laid.
6 Quinze dias antes do início da Festa das Cabanas, os sacerdotes haviam começado a oferecer ao S enhor os holocaustos, antes mesmo de lançarem os alicerces do templo do S enhor .
7 And they gave silver, unto the masons and carpenters,and food and drink and oil, unto them of Zidon and unto them of Tyre, to bring in cedar-trees out of the Lebanon, unto the sea of Joppa, according to the grant of Cyrus king of Persia unto them.
7 Então contrataram pedreiros e carpinteiros e lhes pagaram com moedas de prata. Também compraram toras de cedro dos povos de Tiro e de Sidom e lhes pagaram com alimento, vinho e azeite. As toras eram trazidas dos montes do Líbano e vinham pela costa do mar Mediterrâneo até Jope, pois Ciro, rei da Pérsia, havia permitido que assim se fizesse.
8 Now, in the second year of their coming in unto the house of God, to Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak and the rest of their brethrenthe priests and the Levites, and all that were come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, and stationed the Levites, of twenty years old and upwards, to preside over the work of the house of Yahweh.
8 A construção do templo de Deus começou no segundo mês do segundo ano depois da chegada a Jerusalém. O grupo de trabalhadores era constituído de todos que haviam regressado do exílio, incluindo Zorobabel, filho de Sealtiel, Jesua, filho de Jeozadaque, e seus colegas, os sacerdotes, bem como todos os levitas. Os levitas de 20 anos para cima foram encarregados de supervisionar a construção do templo do S enhor .
9 So they took their stationeven Jeshua, his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, sons of Judah, as one man to preside over the doer of the work in the house of God, the sons of Henadad, their sons and their brethren, the Levites.
9 Jesua, seus filhos e seus parentes, Cadmiel e seus filhos e os descendentes de Hodavias supervisionavam aqueles que trabalhavam no templo de Deus. Os levitas da família de Henadade os auxiliavam nessa tarefa.
10 And, when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Yahweh, then the priests, enrobed, took their stand with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to offer praise unto Yahweh, after the instructions of David king of Israel.
10 Quando os construtores terminaram os alicerces do templo do S enhor , os sacerdotes puseram suas vestes e tomaram seus lugares para tocar as trombetas. Os levitas, descendentes de Asafe, fizeram soar os címbalos para louvar o S enhor , conforme o rei Davi havia prescrito.
11 And, when they made responses in offering praise and in giving thanks unto YahwehFor he is good, for, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness, upon Israel, then, all the people, shouted with a great shout, in offering praise unto Yahweh, over the laying of the foundation of the house of Yahweh.
11 Com louvores e ação de graças, entoaram este cântico ao S enhor : “Ele é bom! Seu amor por Israel dura para sempre!”. Então todo o povo louvou o S
12 But, many of the priests and the Levites and the ancestral chiefs, who were old men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, were weeping with a loud voice,many, however, shouting and rejoicing, with voice raised on high;
12 Muitos dos sacerdotes, dos levitas e dos outros chefes de família mais velhos, que tinham visto o primeiro templo, choraram alto quando viram os alicerces do novo templo. Outros tantos, porém, gritavam de alegria.
13 so that the people could not distinguish the noise of the shout of joy, from the noise of the weeping of the people,for, the people, did shout with a great shout, and, the noise, was heard afar off.
13 Os gritos alegres e o choro se misturavam num barulho tão forte que se podia ouvir de muito longe.
