Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs NTLH
1 These, are the words of the covenant which Yahweh commanded Moses to solemnise with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab,besides the covenant, which he solemnised with them in Horeb.
1 São estas as condições da aliança que o Senhor Deus mandou que Moisés fizesse com os israelitas quando estavam na terra de Moabe, além da aliança que havia feito com eles no monte Sinai.
2 And Moses called unto all Israel and said unto them,Ye yourselves, saw all that Yahweh did before your eyes in the land of Egypt, unto Pharaoh and unto all his servants and unto all his land:
2 Moisés mandou reunir todo o povo. Então lhes disse: — Quando vocês estavam no Egito, viram o que o
3 the great provings which thine own eyes saw,those great signs and wonders:
3 Vocês viram as pragas, os milagres e as outras coisas espantosas que ele fez.
4 yet hath Yahweh not given onto you a heart to know, or eyes to see or ears to hear,until this day.
4 Mas até o dia de hoje o Senhor não deixou que vocês percebessem, ouvissem ou entendessem tudo o que viram.
5 I led you, therefore forty years in the desert,your mantles fell not with age, from off you, even thy sandal, fell not with age from off thy foot:
5 Durante quarenta anos ele os guiou pelo deserto; nesse tempo todo não ficaram gastas as roupas que vocês vestiam, nem as sandálias que calçavam.
6 Bread, ye did not eat, and wine and strong drink, ye did not drink,that ye might know that, I, Yahweh, was your God.
6 Vocês não tinham pão para comer, nem vinho ou cerveja para beber, mas Deus lhes deu tudo o que precisavam, a fim de que ficassem sabendo que ele é o Senhor , nosso Deus.
7 And when ye entered into this place, then came forth Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan to meet us in battle and we smote them;
7 Quando chegamos aqui em Moabe, aconteceu que Seom, rei de Hesbom, e Ogue, rei de Basã, saíram com os seus exércitos para lutar contra nós. Nós os derrotamos,
8 and we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites,and unto the half tribe of Manasseh.
8 ficamos com as terras deles e as repartimos entre as tribos de Rúben e de Gade e metade da tribo de Manassés.
9 Ye must, therefore, keep the words of this covenant, and do them,that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
9 Portanto, cumpram todas as condições desta aliança para que tudo o que fizerem dê certo.
10 Ye are stationed, to-day, all of you, before Yahweh your God,your heads your tribes, and your elders and your officers, every man of Israel;
10 — Hoje todos vocês estão aqui na presença do Senhor , nosso Deus: os chefes das tribos, os líderes e as autoridades, todos os homens,
11 your little ones your wives, and thy sojourner that is in the midst of thy camps,from him that heweth thy wood unto him that draweth thy water:
11 as crianças e as mulheres, todos os estrangeiros que moram no acampamento, até os que cortam lenha e os que carregam água.
12 that thou mayest pass through into the covenant of Yahweh thy God and into his oath,which Yahweh thy God is solemnising with thee, to-day:
12 Vocês estão aqui para prometer que vão cumprir a aliança que o Senhor , nosso Deus, jurou que ia fazer. Ele está fazendo esta aliança com vocês hoje
13 that he may confirm thee to-day as his own people, while, he, becometh thine own God, as he spake unto thee,and as he sware unto thy fathers, unto Abraham unto Isaac and unto Jacob.
13 para que sejam o seu povo escolhido, e para que ele seja o Deus de vocês, conforme lhes prometeu e conforme o juramento que fez aos nossos antepassados Abraão, Isaque e Jacó.
14 And not with you alone, am I solemnising this covenant and this oath;
14 A aliança selada com o juramento de Deus não é feita somente com vocês
15 but with him who is here with us, standing to-day before Yahweh our God,and with him who is not here with us to-day.
15 que estão reunidos hoje aqui na presença do Senhor , nosso Deus; é feita também com todos os seus descendentes que ainda vão nascer.
16 (For, ye, know, how we dwelt in the land of Egypt,and how we passed through the midst of the nations which ye did pass through;
16 — Vocês lembram da nossa vida no Egito e lembram também dos países que atravessamos.
17 and ye saw their disgusting images, and their manufactured gods,the wood and the stone, the silver and the gold that are with them.)
17 Vocês viram os ídolos nojentos que os povos daqueles países adoram, as imagens de madeira, de pedra, de prata e de ouro.
18 Lest there be among youa man or a woman or a family or a tribe, whose heart is turning to-day, from Yahweh our God, to go and serve the gods of those nations,lest there be among you a root fruitful of poison and wormwood;
18 Portanto, que nenhum de vocês, quer seja homem, mulher, família ou tribo, abandone o Senhor , nosso Deus, para adorar os deuses daqueles povos. Isso seria como uma planta que brota e cresce e dá frutas amargas e venenosas.
19 and so it come to pass while he is hearing the words of this oath, that he will bless himself in his heartsaying, Prosperity, shall I have, although in the stubbornness of my heart, I go on,so that the drunkenness addeth to the thirst:
19 Que ninguém aqui ouça este juramento e depois diga a si mesmo que tudo vai bem e que nenhum mal lhe acontecerá, mesmo que continue na sua maldade! Isso causaria a destruição de todos, tanto dos bons como dos maus.
20 Yahweh will not be willing to forgive him, but, then, will the anger of Yahweh and his jealousy smoke against that man, and all the oath that is written in this scroll, shall settle down upon him,and Yahweh wipe out his name from under the heavens;
20 O Senhor Deus não perdoará quem fizer isso; pelo contrário, descarregará a sua ira e o seu furor sobre ele e o castigará com todas as maldições que estão escritas neste livro, e ninguém lembrará mais dele.
21 and Yahweh single him out for calamity, out of all the tribes of Israel,according to all the oaths of the covenant that is written in this scroll of the law.
21 O Senhor o separará das tribos de Israel e o castigará, conforme todas as maldições que estão na aliança que vem escrita neste Livro da Lei de Deus.
22 So that the generation coming afteryour sons who shall rise up after you, and the foreigner who shall come in from a far-off land, will saywhen they see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses thereof wherewith Yahweh hath made it sick:
22 — No futuro os seus descendentes e os estrangeiros que virão de países distantes verão os resultados dos desastres e das doenças que o Senhor vai mandar a esta nação.
23 brimstone and salt burning up all the land thereof, it shall not be sown neither shall it shoot forth neither shall there come up thereon any herbage,like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overthrow in his anger and in his wrath:
23 O país ficará um deserto, todo coberto de enxofre e de sal. Não haverá plantações nem colheitas, e nenhuma erva crescerá ali. O país vai ficar como as cidades de Sodoma e Gomorra, de Admá e Zeboim, que o Senhor Deus destruiu quando ficou irado e furioso com elas.
24 yea all the nations will say, For what cause, hath Yahweh done, thus, unto this land? what meaneth this great heat of anger?
24 Portanto, no futuro os outros povos perguntarão: “Por que Deus fez isso com este país? Por que ficou tão irado e furioso?”
25 Then will men say, Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh the God of their fathers,which he solemnised with them, when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt;
25 E a resposta será: “Deus fez isso porque este povo quebrou a aliança que o Senhor , o Deus dos seus antepassados, fez com eles quando os tirou do Egito.
26 and went and served other gods, and bowed down to them,gods which they had not known, and in which he had given them no share:
26 Eles se ajoelharam diante de outros deuses e os adoraram, deuses cujo amor eles não haviam sentido, deuses que Deus não havia indicado para serem adorados pelo seu povo.
27 therefore did the anger of Yahweh kindle upon that land,to bring in upon it all the curse that is written in this scroll;
27 O Senhor Deus ficou irado com este povo e por isso castigou o país deles com todas as maldições escritas neste livro.
28 and therefore hath Yahweh rooted them out, from off their own soil, in anger and in wrath and in great indignation,and cast them into another land as at this day.
28 Ele ficou tão irado, tão furioso, que os arrancou da terra onde moravam e os jogou noutra terra, onde estão morando agora.”
29 The secret things,
29 — Há coisas que não sabemos, e elas pertencem ao Senhor , nosso Deus; mas o que ele revelou, isto é, a sua Lei , é para nós e para os nossos descendentes, para sempre. Ele fez isso a fim de que obedecêssemos a todas as suas leis.
