1 Neither the priests the Levites any of the tribe of Levi, shall have either portion or inheritance with Israel,the altar-flames of Yahweh and his inheritance, shall they eat.
1 “Lembrem-se de que os sacerdotes levitas e todos os outros membros da tribo de Levi não receberão porção alguma de terra como herança entre as outras tribos de Israel. Em vez disso, os sacerdotes e levitas comerão das ofertas especiais apresentadas ao S enhor , pois essa é parte que lhes cabe.
2 But inheritance, shall he not have, in the midst of his brethren,Yahweh, is his inheritance, as he spake unto him.
2 Não terão herança entre os israelitas. O S enhor é a sua herança, conforme lhes prometeu.
3 This, therefore shall be the due of the priests from the people from them who offer the sacrifice whether ox or lamb,there shall be given unto the priest, the shoulder and the two cheeks and the maw:
3 “Estas são as partes que os sacerdotes receberão como sua porção dos bois e das ovelhas que o povo entregar como ofertas: a espádua, as queixadas e o estômago.
4 the firstfruit of thy corn thy new wine and thine oil and the first of the fleece of thy flock, shalt thou give unto him.
4 Deem também aos sacerdotes a primeira porção dos cereais, do vinho novo, do azeite e da lã na época da tosquia,
5 For of him, hath Yahweh thy God made choice out of all thy tribes,to stand to minister in the name of Yahweh of him and his sons all the days.
5 pois o S enhor , seu Deus, escolheu a tribo de Levi dentre todas as suas tribos para servir em nome do S enhor para sempre.
6 And when the Levite shall come in out of any of thy gates out of any part of Israel, where he is sojourning,yea shall come in with all the desire of his soul, into the place which Yahweh shall choose,
6 “Se um levita decidir sair de sua cidade em Israel, seja ela qual for, e mudar-se para o lugar que o S enhor escolher,
7 then may he minister in the name of Yahweh his God,like any of his brethren the Levites who are standing there before Yahweh.
7 ele servirá ali em nome do S enhor , seu Deus, da mesma forma que todos os seus companheiros levitas que servem o S enhor naquele lugar.
8 Portion for portion, shall they eat,apart from his possessions upon his patrimony.
8 Comerá sua porção dos sacrifícios e ofertas, mesmo que também receba sustento de sua família.”
9 When thou art coming into the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee, thou shalt not learn to do according to the abominable doings of those nations.
9 “Quando vocês entrarem na terra que o S enhor , seu Deus, lhes dá, tenham muito cuidado para não imitarem os costumes detestáveis das nações que vivem ali.
10 There shall not be found in thy midstOne who causeth his son or his daughter to pass through fire,Or who useth divination, hidden arts or enchantments Or who muttereth incantations;
10 Jamais deverá haver entre vocês alguém que queime seu filho ou sua filha como sacrifício. Não permitam que alguém do povo pratique adivinhação, use encantamentos, interprete agouros, envolva-se com bruxaria,
11 Or who bindeth with spells,Or who asketh of a familiar spirit or an oracle, Or who seeketh unto the dead.
11 lance feitiços, atue como médium ou praticante do ocultismo, ou consulte os espíritos dos mortos.
12 For, an abomination unto Yahweh, is everyone who doeth these things,and on account of these abominations, is Yahweh thy God dispossessing them from before thee.
12 Quem pratica tais coisas é detestável ao S enhor . É justamente porque as outras nações praticam essas coisas detestáveis que o S enhor , seu Deus, as expulsará de diante de vocês.
13 Blameless, shalt thou be with, Yahweh thy God;
13 Sejam inculpáveis perante o S enhor , seu Deus.
14 for, these nations whom thou art dispossessing, unto them who use hidden arts and unto diviners, do hearken, but as for thee, not so, doth Yahweh thy God suffer thee.
14 As nações cujas terras vocês estão prestes a conquistar consultam feiticeiros e adivinhos, mas o S enhor , seu Deus, os proíbe de fazerem essas coisas.”
15 A prophet out of thy midst of thy brethren like unto me, will Yahweh thy God, raise up unto theeunto him, shall ye hearken:
15 “O S enhor , seu Deus, levantará um profeta como eu do meio de seus irmãos israelitas. Deem ouvidos a ele,
16 according to all which thou didst ask of Yahweh thy God, in Horeb, in the day of the convocation saying,Let me no further hearken unto the voice of Yahweh my God, and this great fire, let me not see any more lest I die.
16 pois foi isso que vocês pediram ao S enhor , seu Deus, quando estavam reunidos ao pé do monte Sinai. Disseram: ‘Não iremos mais ouvir a voz do S enhor , nosso Deus, nem ver este fogo ardente, pois morreríamos’.
17 And Yahweh said unto me: They have well said what they have spoken.
17 “Então o S enhor me disse: ‘Eles estão certos.
18 A prophet, will I raise up unto them, out of the midst of their brethren, like unto thee,and I will put my words in his mouth, so shall he speak unto them whatsoever I shall command him.
18 Levantarei um profeta como você do meio de seus irmãos israelitas e porei minhas palavras em sua boca, e ele dirá ao povo tudo que eu lhe ordenar.
19 And it shall come to pass, that, the man who will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I, myself will require it of him.
19 Eu mesmo pedirei contas de qualquer um que não ouvir as mensagens que o profeta proclamar em meu nome.
20 Howbeit the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in my name which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shah speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.
20 Mas o profeta que tiver a presunção de falar em meu nome algo que não lhe ordenei, ou que falar em nome de outros deuses, será morto’.
21 And, when thou shalt say in thy heart,In what manner shall we know the word which Yahweh hath not spoken!?,
21 “Talvez vocês se perguntem: ‘Como saberemos se uma profecia vem do S enhor ou não?’.
22 When the prophet shall speak in the name of Yahweh and the word shall not come to pass, neither shall come in, that, is the word which Yahweh, hath not spoken,presumptuously, hath the prophet spoken it, thou shall not be in dread of him.
22 Se o profeta falar em nome do S enhor , mas suas previsões não acontecerem nem se cumprirem, vocês saberão que a mensagem dele não vem do S enhor . Esse profeta presumiu arrogantemente que falava em meu nome, e vocês não precisam temê-lo.”
