1 And, in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams,and his spirit, was troubled, and, his sleep, had gone from him.
1 E no segundo ano do reinado de Nabucodonosor, Nabucodonosor teve sonhos, com os quais atribulou-se o seu espírito e o seu sono cessou.
2 So the king gave word to call for the sacred scribes and for the magicians, and for the users of incantations, and for the Chaldeans, that they might tell the king his dreams,they came in therefore, and stood before the king.
2 Então o rei ordenou que chamassem os magos, e os astrólogos, e os feiticeiros, e os caldeus, para revelarem ao rei os seus sonhos. Então eles vieram e se puseram perante o rei.
3 And the king, said to them, A dream, have I dreamed,and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.
3 E o rei disse-lhes: Eu tive um sonho, e o meu espírito atribulou-se para entender o sonho.
4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king, in Aramaic,O king, to the ages, live! Tell the dream to thy servants, and, the interpretation, we will declare.
4 Então falaram os caldeus ao rei em aramaico: Ó rei, vive para sempre; diz a teus servos o sonho, e nós mostraremos a interpretação.
5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The word from me, is unalterable: If ye shall not make known to me the dream and the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and, your houses, into a dunghill, shall be turned;
5 O rei respondeu e disse aos caldeus: O assunto se foi de mim; se vós não me fizerdes saber o sonho, com a sua interpretação, sereis cortados em pedaços, e as vossas casas serão feitas um monturo.
6 but, if, the dream and the interpretation thereof, ye will declare, gifts and a present and great dignity, shall ye receive from before me,therefore, the dream and the interpretation thereof, declare ye unto me.
6 Mas se revelardes o sonho e a sua interpretação, recebereis de mim presentes, e recompensas, e grande honra; portanto, revelai-me o sonho e a sua interpretação.
7 They answered again and said,Let, the king, tell, the dream, to his servants, and, the interpretation thereof, we will declare.
7 Eles responderam novamente e disseram: Que o rei conte aos seus servos o sonho, e nós revelaremos a sua interpretação.
8 The king answered and said, Of a certainty, I know, that, time, ye, would gain,merely because ye see that, unalterable, from me, is the word:
8 O rei respondeu e disse: Eu sei certamente que vós procuraríeis ganhar tempo, porque vós vedes que o assunto se foi de mim.
9 That, if, the dream, ye shall not make known to me, one and the same, is the decree, and, a lying and wicked word, have ye agreed to speak before me, that meanwhile the time may be changed,therefore, the dream, tell ye me, so shall I know that, the interpretation thereof, ye can declare for me.
9 Todavia, se vós não me fizerdes conhecer o sonho, há somente um decreto para vós; pois vós preparastes palavras mentirosas e corruptas para falar diante de mim, enquanto passa o tempo; portanto, contai-me o sonho, e eu saberei que vós podeis mostrar-me a sua interpretação.
10 The Chaldeans answered before the king and said, There is not a man upon the earth, who can declare, the matter of the king,although indeed, there is no king, chief ruler who, a thing like this, hath asked of any sacred scribe or magician or Chaldean;
10 Os caldeus responderam perante o rei, e disseram: Não existe um homem sobre a terra que possa revelar o assunto do rei; portanto, não há nenhum rei, senhor ou governante que tenha pedido tais coisas a qualquer mago, ou astrólogo, ou caldeu.
11 and, the thing which the king hath asked, is difficult, and, none other, is there, who can declare it before the king,saving the gods whose dwelling is, not with flesh.
11 E é uma coisa rara o que o rei pede, e não há nenhum outro que possa mostrá-lo perante o rei, exceto os deuses, cuja morada não é com a carne.
12 For this cause, the king, was provoked and exceedingly indignant,and gave word to destroy all the wise men of Babylon;
12 Por causa disso o rei ficou irado e muito furioso, e ordenou a destruição de todos os homens sábios de Babilônia.
13 and, the decree, went forth, that, the wise men, should be slain,and they sought Daniel and his companions that they might be slain.
13 E o decreto estabelecia que os homens sábios deviam ser mortos; e eles procuraram Daniel e os seus companheiros para os matarem.
14 Immediately, Daniel, made answer with prudence and discretion, to Arioch, chief of the executioners of the king,who had come forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
14 Então Daniel respondeu com conselho e sabedoria a Arioque, o capitão da guarda do rei, que havia saído para matar os homens sábios de Babilônia;
15 he began to speak and said to Arioch the kings captain,For what cause, is the decree raging forth from before the king? Then did Arioch make the matter known unto Daniel.
15 ele respondeu e disse a Arioque, o capitão do rei: Por que o decreto do rei é tão precipitado? Então Arioque fez o assunto conhecido a Daniel.
16 So Daniel entered in, and desired of the king,that, an appointed time, he would give him, and then, the interpretation, he would declare unto the king.
16 Então Daniel entrou e desejou que o rei lhe desse tempo, para que ele revelasse ao rei a interpretação.
17 Then Daniel, to his own house, departed,and, to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, made the matter known;
17 Então Daniel foi para a sua casa, e fez o assunto conhecido a Hananias, Misael e Azarias, seus companheiros;
18 that, tender compassion, they might seek from before the God of the heavens, concerning this secret,that Daniel and his companions, might not be destroyed, with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
18 para que eles desejassem as misericórdias do Deus do céu concernentes a este segredo; para que Daniel e seus companheiros não perecessem juntamente com o restante dos homens sábios de Babilônia.
19 Then, unto Danielin a vision of the night, the secret was revealed,whereupon, Daniel, blessed the God of the heavens:
19 Então o segredo foi revelado a Daniel em uma visão noturna. Depois Daniel bendisse ao Deus do céu.
20 Daniel responded, and said, Let the name of God be blessed from age to age,in that wisdom and might, to him belong;
20 Daniel respondeu e disse: Bendito seja o nome de Deus para sempre e sempre, pois seus são a sabedoria e o poder;
21 And, he, changeth times and seasons, removeth kings, and setteth up kings,giving wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to them who are skilled in understanding:
21 e ele muda os tempos e as estações; ele remove reis, e estabelece reis; ele dá sabedoria ao sábio, e conhecimento àqueles que conhecem o entendimento;
22 He, revealeth the deep things, and the hidden,knoweth what is in the darkness, and, light, with him, doth dwell.
22 ele revela as coisas secretas e profundas; ele sabe o que há na escuridão, e a luz habita com ele.
23 Unto the, O God of my fathers, do I render thanks and praise, in that, wisdom and might, thou hast given unto me,yea, already, hast thou made known to me that which we desired of thee, for, the matter of the king, hast thou made known unto us.
23 Eu te agradeço e te louvo, ó tu, Deus dos meus pais, que me deste sabedoria e poder, e me fizeste conhecer agora o que nós desejamos de ti; pois tu nos deste a conhecer agora o assunto do rei.
24 Therefore, Daniel entered in unto Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon,he went in, and, thus, he said unto him, The wise men of Babylon, do not thou destroy, bring me in before the king, and, the interpretationunto the king, will I declare.
24 Então, Daniel foi a Arioque, a quem o rei tinha ordenado que destruísse os homens sábios de Babilônia. Ele foi e assim lhe disse: Não destruas os homens sábios de Babilônia. Apresente-me perante o rei, e eu revelarei ao rei a interpretação.
25 Thereupon, Ariochwith haste, brought in Daniel before the king,and, thus, he said to himI have found a man of the sons of the exile of Judah, who, the interpretationunto the king, will make known.
25 Então Arioque trouxe Daniel perante o rei apressadamente, e desta forma lhe disse: Eu encontrei um homem dos cativos de Judá que fará conhecida ao rei a interpretação.
26 The king answered and said unto Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar,Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
26 O rei respondeu e disse a Daniel, cujo nome era Beltessazar: És tu capaz de dar-me a conhecer o sonho que vi, e a sua interpretação?
27 Daniel answered before the king, and said,The secret which the king hath asked, the wise men, the magicians, the sacred scribes, the astrologers, are not able to declare unto the king;
27 Daniel respondeu na presença do rei, e disse: O segredo que o rei exigiu não podem os homens sábios, os astrólogos, os magos e os adivinhos mostrar ao rei;
28 but there is a God in the heavens, who revealeth secrets, and hath made known to King Nebuchadnezzar, what shall come to pass, in the afterpart of the days: Thy dream and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are, these:
28 porém há um Deus no céu que revela segredos, e dá a conhecer ao rei Nabucodonosor o que acontecerá nos últimos dias. O teu sonho e as visões de tua cabeça sobre tua cama são estes:
29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts upon thy bed, arose regarding what should come to pass hereafter; and, he that revealeth secrets, made known to thee what shall come to pass.
29 Quanto a ti, ó rei, os teus pensamentos adentraram a tua mente sobre tua cama, o que deverá acontecer doravante; e aquele que revela segredos faz-te conhecer o que acontecerá.
30 But, as for menot for any wisdom that is in me, more than any of the living, is, this secret, revealed to me,therefore, it is in order that, the interpretationunto the king, they should make known, and that, the thoughts of thy heart, thou shouldst get to know.
30 Porém, quanto a mim, este segredo não me é revelado por qualquer sabedoria que eu tenha mais do que qualquer vivente, mas por causa deles se fará conhecida a interpretação ao rei, e para que tu possas conhecer os pensamentos do teu coração.
31 As for thee, O king, thou wast looking, when lo! a great image, this image, being mighty, and the brightness thereof surpassing, was standing before thee,and, the appearance thereof, was terrible.
31 Tu, ó rei, viste e observaste uma grande imagem. Esta grande imagem, cujo brilho era excelente, estava diante de ti; e a sua forma era terrível.
32 As for this image, its head, was of fine gold, its breast and its arms, were of silver,its belly and its thighs, of bronze;
32 A cabeça desta imagem era de ouro fino, o seu seio e os seus braços de prata, e o seu ventre e as suas coxas de bronze,
33 its legs, of iron,and, its feet, part of them, of iron, and, part of them, of clay.
33 suas pernas de ferro, seus pés parte de ferro e parte de barro.
34 Thou didst look, until that a stone tare itself away, not by the aid of hands, and smote the image upon its feet, which were of iron and clay,and they were broken in pieces.
34 Tu viste até que uma pedra foi cortada sem mãos, a qual golpeou a imagem sobre os pés que eram de ferro e barro, e os quebrou em pedaços.
35 Then were broken in pieces at once, the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, and became like chaff out of the summer threshing-floors, and the wind, carried them away, and, no place, was found for them,but, the stone that smote the image, became a mighty rock, and filled all the land.
35 Então o ferro, o barro, o bronze, a prata e o ouro foram quebrados em pedaços juntamente, e tornaram-se como a palha das eiras do verão; e o vento os carregou para longe, de modo que nenhum lugar foi encontrado para eles; e a pedra que golpeou a imagem tornou-se um grande monte, e preencheu a terra toda.
36 This, is the dream, and, the interpretation thereof, we will tell before the king.
36 Este é o sonho; e nós revelaremos a sua interpretação diante do rei.
37 Thou, O king, art the king of kings,for, the God of the heavens, hath given unto thee, the kingship, the might, the power and the dignity;
37 Tu, ó rei, és um rei de reis, pois o Deus do céu concedeu-te um reino, poder, e força, e glória.
38 and, wheresoever the sons of men do dwell, the wild beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens, hath he given into thy hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou, art the head of gold.
38 E onde quer que os filhos dos homens habitem, os animais do campo e as aves do céu ele as deu em tua mão, e fez de ti o governador sobre todos. Tu és esta cabeça de ouro.
39 And, after thee, shall arise another kingdom, inferior to thee,and anothera third kingdom, of bronze, which shall bear rule throughout all the earth.
39 E depois de ti, levantar-se-á outro reino inferior ao teu, e um terceiro reino de bronze, o qual assumirá o governo de toda a terra.
40 And, the fourth kingdom, shall be hard as iron,in like manner as iron breaketh in pieces and crusheth all things,even as iron which bringeth to ruins all these, shall it break in pieces and bring to ruins.
40 E o quarto reino será forte como ferro; assim como o ferro quebra em pedaços e subjuga todas as coisas, e como ferro, que quebra tudo, ele quebrará em pedaços e ferirá.
41 And, whereas thou sawest the feet and the toes, part of them of potters clay, and part of them of iron, the kingdom, shall be, divided, and, of the hardness of the iron, shall there be in it,forasmuch as thou sawest, the iron, combined with the miry clay;
41 E enquanto tu viste os pés e os dedos, parte de barro do oleiro e parte de ferro, o reino se dividirá, porém haverá nele a força do ferro, visto que tu observaste o ferro misturado com barro lamacento.
42 and, the toes of the feet, part of them, iron, and, part, of clay,some part of the kingdom, shall be strong, but, a part thereof, shall be brittle;
42 E como os dedos dos pés eram parte de ferro, e parte de barro, assim o reino será parcialmente forte, e parcialmente fraco.
43 and, whereas thou sawest, the iron, combined with the miry clay, they shall be combined with the seed of men, but shall not cleave firmly one to another,lo! as iron is not to be combined with clay.
43 E enquanto tu viste ferro misturado com barro lamacento, eles irão se misturar à semente de homens; porém eles não se apegarão um ao outro, assim como o ferro não se mistura ao barro.
44 And, in the days of those kings, shall the God of the heavens, set up, a kingdom which, to the ages, shall not be destroyed, and, the kingdom, to another people, shall not be left,it shall break in pieces and make an end of all these kingdoms, but, itself, shall stand to the ages.
44 E nos dias destes reis o Deus do céu irá erguer um reino, que nunca será destruído; e o reino não será deixado para outro povo, porém quebrará em pedaços e consumirá todos estes reinos, e permanecerá para sempre.
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that, out of the rock, a stone tare itself away, but not with hands, and brake in pieces the clay, the iron, the bronze, the silver and the gold, the mighty God, hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter. Exact then is the dream, and trusty its interpretation.
45 Assim como tu observaste que a pedra foi cortada do monte sem mãos, e que ela quebrou em pedaços o ferro, o bronze, o barro, a prata e o ouro, o grande Deus fez conhecido ao rei aquilo que acontecerá doravante; e o sonho é certo, e a sua interpretação correta.
46 Then, King Nebuchadnezzar, fell upon his face, and, unto Daniel, paid adoration; and, a present and sweet odours, gave he word to pour out unto him.
46 Então o rei Nabucodonosor caiu sobre sua face e adorou Daniel, e ordenou que lhe oferecessem uma oferta e aromas suaves.
47 The king answered Daniel, and saidOf a truth, your God, is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a Revealer of secrets,seeing thou wast able to reveal this secret.
47 O rei respondeu a Daniel, e disse: Bem verdade é que o seu Deus é um Deus de deuses, e um Senhor de reis, e um revelador de segredos, visto que tu pudeste revelar este segredo.
48 Then, the king, exalted, Daniel, and, many large presents, gave he unto him, and set him to be ruler over all the province of Babylon,and chief of the nobles, over all the wise men of Babylon.
48 Então o rei fez Daniel um grande homem, e deu-lhe muitos presentes valiosos, e o fez governante sobre toda a província de Babilônia, e chefe dos governadores sobre todos os homens sábios de Babilônia.
49 And, Daniel, desired of the king, and he appointedover the business of the province of BabylonShadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego,but, Daniel himself, was in the gate of the king.
49 Então Daniel pediu ao rei, e ele estabeleceu Sadraque, Mesaque e Abednego sobre os negócios da província de Babilônia, porém Daniel sentou-se ao portão do rei.
