1 So then Yahweh sent Nathan the prophet unto David,who therefore came unto him and said to himTwo men, there were in a certain city, the one, rich, and, the other, poor.
1 E o SENHOR enviou Natã até Davi. E ele veio até Davi, e lhe disse: Havia dois homens em uma cidade; um rico, e o outro pobre.
2 The, rich, man had flocks and herds exceeding many;
2 O homem rico tinha muitíssimas ovelhas e gado,
3 whereas the, poor, man had, nothing,save one little lamb, which he had made his own, and sustained, and it had grown up with him and with his children, all together,of his own morsel, used it to eat, and, out of his own cup, used it to drink, and, in his own bosom, used it to lie, and it was to him, as a daughter.
3 mas o homem pobre não tinha nada, salvo uma pequena cordeira, a qual ele havia comprado e criado; e ela cresceu junto a ele, e com os seus filhos; ela comia da sua própria carne e bebia da sua própria taça, e se deitava no seu peito, e era para ele como filha.
4 Now there came a traveller to the rich man, but he thought it a pity to take of his own flock, or his own herd, to make ready for the wayfarer who had come to him,so he took the lamb of his poor neighbour, and made ready for the man who had come to him.
4 E veio ali um viajante ao homem rico, e ele deixou de tomar do seu próprio aprisco e do seu próprio gado, para preparar para o viajante que havia vindo até ele; mas tomou a cordeira do homem pobre, e a preparou para o homem que havia vindo até ele.
5 Then was kindled the anger of David against the man, fiercely,and he said unto Nathan, By the life of Yahweh, doomed to death, is the man that hath done this;
5 E a ira de Davi se acendeu sobremaneira contra o homem; e ele disse a Natã: Como vive o SENHOR, o homem que fez esta coisa certamente deve morrer;
6 and, the lamb, shall he pay back sevenfold,because he did this thing, and, for that he had no pity.
6 e ele deve restituir a cordeira ao quádruplo, porque ele fez esta coisa, e porque não teve piedade.
7 Then said Nathan unto David: Thou, art the man! Thus, saith Yahweh, God of IsraelI, anointed thee to be king over Israel, and, I, delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
7 E Natã disse a Davi: Tu és o homem. Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Eu te ungi rei sobre Israel, e eu te livrei da mão de Saul;
8 and gave unto thee the household of thy lord, and the wives of thy lord, into thy bosom, and gave unto thee the house of Israel and Judah. And, if this had been too little, I could have further given thee more and more of such things.
8 e te dei a casa do teu senhor, e as esposas do teu senhor no teu peito, e te dei a casa de Israel e de Judá; e se isto fora muito pouco, eu te teria dado ainda mais de tais e tais coisas.
9 Wherefore, hast thou despised the word of Yahweh, by doing that which is wicked in mine eyes? Uriah the Hittite, hast thou smitten with the sword, and, his wife, hast thou taken to thyself to wife, yea, him, hast thou slain with the sword of the sons of Ammon!
9 Por que desprezaste o mandamento do SENHOR, para fazer o mal à sua vista? Tu mataste Urias, o heteu, com a espada, e tomaste a sua esposa para ser tua esposa, e o mataste com a espada dos filhos de Amom.
10 Now, therefore, the sword shall not depart from thy house, unto age-abiding times,because thou hast despised me, and taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
10 Agora, portanto, a espada jamais se apartará da tua casa; porque tu me desprezaste, e tomaste a esposa de Urias, o heteu, para ser tua esposa.
11 Thus, saith Yahweh,Behold me! raising up over thee calamity out of thine own household, and I will take thy wives, before thine eyes, and give unto thy neighbour, and he will lie with thy wives, in the eyes of this sun.
11 Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que suscitarei o mal contra ti a partir da tua própria casa, e tomarei as tuas esposas diante dos teus olhos, e as darei ao teu vizinho, e ele deitará com as tuas esposas à vista deste sol.
12 For, thou, didst it, in secret,but, I, will do this thing, before all Israel, and before the sun.
12 Porque fizeste isto secretamente; mas eu farei esta coisa diante de todo o Israel, e diante do sol.
13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against Yahweh. Then said Nathan unto David,Yahweh also, hath put away thy sin, thou shalt not die!
13 E Davi disse a Natã: Pequei contra o SENHOR. E Natã disse a Davi: o SENHOR também pôs de lado o teu pecado; tu não morrerás.
14 Nevertheless, because thou hast greatly blasphemed Yahweh, by this thing, the very son that is born to thee, shall, die.
14 Todavia, por este feito, deste uma grande ocasião para os inimigos do SENHOR blasfemarem, também a criança que te nasceu certamente morrerá.
15 And Nathan departed unto his own house,and Yahweh struck the child that the wife of Uriah had borne unto David, and it fell sick.
15 E Natã partiu para a sua casa. E o SENHOR feriu a criança que a esposa de Urias deu a Davi, e ela ficou muito enferma.
16 David therefore earnestly sought God in behalf of the boy,and David kept a fast, and used to go in and pass the night, and lie upon the ground.
16 Davi, então, buscou a Deus pela criança; e Davi jejuou, e entrou e ficou prostrado a noite toda sobre a terra.
17 And the elders of his house stood up over him, to raise him from the ground,but he would not, neither would he eat food with them.
17 E os anciãos da sua casa se levantaram e foram ter com ele, para levantá-lo da terra: mas ele não quis, nem ele comeu pão com eles.
18 And it came to pass, on the seventh day, that the child died,but the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead, for said theyLo! while the child was living, we spake unto him, and he hearkened not unto our voice, how then can we say unto him, The child is dead, and so he do harm?
18 E sucedeu, no sétimo dia, que a criança morreu. E os servos de Davi temiam contá-lo que a criança estava morta; porque diziam: Eis que, enquanto a criança estava viva, nós falávamos com ele, mas ele não atentava à nossa voz; como então se afligirá a si mesmo, se o contarmos que a criança está morta?
19 But, when David saw that his servants were whispering among themselves, then understood David that the child was dead,and David said unto his servantsIs the child, dead? And they answeredDead!
19 Mas quando Davi viu que os seus servos cochichavam, Davi percebeu que a criança estava morta; pelo que disse Davi aos seus servos: A criança está morta? E eles o disseram: Ela está morta.
20 Then David arose from the ground, and bathed and anointed, and changed his apparel, and, entering into the house of Yahweh, bowed himself down,then came he into his own house, and asked, and they set before him food, and he did eat.
20 Então Davi se levantou da terra, banhou-se e se ungiu, e trocou de indumentária, e entrou na casa do SENHOR, e adorou; então ele veio à sua própria casa; e quando ele solicitava, eles punham pão diante dele, e ele comia.
21 Then said his servants unto him, What is this thing that thou hast done? For the childs sake, while living, thou didst fast and weep, but, as soon as the child was dead, thou didst arise and eat food.
21 Então, disseram a ele os seus servos: Que coisa é esta que fizeste? Jejuaste e pranteaste pela criança, enquanto ela estava viva; mas quando a criança morreu, tu te levantaste e comeste pão.
22 And he said,While yet the child lived, I fasted, and wept,for I saidWho knoweth whether Yahweh may not grant me favour, and the child live?
22 E ele disse: Enquanto a criança ainda estava viva, eu jejuei e pranteei; porquanto eu dizia: Quem poderá dizer se Deus será gracioso para comigo, de modo que a criança possa viver?
23 But, now, that he is dead, wherefore should I go on fasting? can I bring him back again? I am going unto him, but, he, will not come back unto me.
23 Mas agora que ela está morta, por que eu deveria jejuar? Posso trazê-la de volta? Eu irei até ela, mas ela não retornará a mim.
24 And David consoled Bath-sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her,and she bare a son, and called his name, Solomon, and Yahweh loved him.
24 E Davi consolou Bate-Seba, sua esposa, e entrou a ela, e se deitou com ela; e ela deu à luz um filho, e ele chamou o seu nome de Salomão; e o SENHOR o amou.
25 And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet, and called his name Jedidiah, for Yahwehs sake. \fs15
25 E ele enviou pela mão de Natã, o profeta; e ele chamou o seu nome Jedidias, por causa do SENHOR.
26 And Joab fought against Rabbah, of the sons of Ammon,and captured the royal city.
26 E Joabe lutou contra Rabá, dos filhos de Amom, e tomou a cidade real.
27 Then Joab sent messengers unto David,and saidI have fought against Rabbah, I have also captured the city of the waters.
27 E Joabe enviou mensageiros a Davi, e disse: Eu lutei contra Rabá, e tomei a cidade das águas.
28 Now, therefore, gather thou together the rest of the people, and encamp against the city, and capture it,lest, I, capture the city, and it be called by my name.
28 Agora, portanto, reúne o restante do povo, e acampa contra a cidade, e toma-a; para que eu não tome a cidade, e ela seja chamada segundo o meu nome.
29 So David gathered together all the people, and went to Rabbah,and fought against it, and captured it.
29 E Davi reuniu todo o povo, e foi até Rabá, e lutou contra ela, e a tomou.
30 Then took he the crown of Milcom from off his head, the weight thereof, being a talent of gold, with the precious stones, and it remained on the head of David,the spoil of the city also, brought he forth in great abundance;
30 E ele tirou da cabeça do rei deles a sua coroa, cujo peso era um talento de ouro com as pedras preciosas; e ela foi posta na cabeça de Davi. E ele trouxe o despojo da cidade em grande abundância.
31 the people also that were therein, brought he forth, and put them to the saw, and to threshing sledges of iron, and to axes of iron, and made them pass through the brickkiln, and thus used he to do unto all the cities of the sons of Ammon. And David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
31 E ele retirou o povo que lá estava, e os pôs sob serras, e sob rastelos de ferro, e sob machados de ferro, e os fez passar por fornos de tijolos; e assim fez ele a todas as cidades dos filhos de Amom. Então Davi e todo o povo retornaram a Jerusalém.
