1 But there arose false-prophets also among the people, as, among you also, there shall be, false-teachers,men who will stealthily bring in destructive parties, even the Master that bought them, denying, bringing upon themselves speedy destruction;
1 Contudo, assim como surgiram falsos profetas entre o povo de Israel, também surgirão falsos mestres entre vocês. Eles ensinarão astutamente heresias destrutivas e até negarão o Mestre que os resgatou, trazendo sobre si mesmos destruição repentina.
2 And, many, will follow out their wanton ways,by reason of whom, the way of truth, will be defamed,
2 Muitos seguirão a imoralidade vergonhosa desses mestres, e por causa deles o caminho da verdade será difamado.
3 And, in greed, with forged words, will they, of you, make merchandise: for whom, the sentence from of old, is not idle, and, their destruction, doth not slumber.
3 Em sua ganância, inventarão mentiras astutas para explorar vocês, mas eles já foram condenados há muito tempo, e sua destruição não tardará.
4 Forif, God, spared not, messengers, when they sinned, but, to pits of gloom, consigning them, in the lowest hades, delivered them up to be kept, unto judgment,
4 Pois Deus não poupou nem os anjos que pecaram. Ele os lançou no inferno, em abismos tenebrosos, onde ficarão presos até o dia do julgamento.
5 And, an ancient world, spared not, but, with seven others, preserved, Noah, a proclaimer, of righteousness, a flood, upon a world of ungodly persons, letting loose,
5 Não poupou o mundo antigo, mas protegeu Noé, que proclamava a justiça, e sete pessoas de sua família, quando destruiu com um dilúvio o mundo dos perversos.
6 And, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, reducing to ashes, he condemned, an example of such as should be ungodly, having set forth,
6 Mais tarde, condenou as cidades de Sodoma e Gomorra e as transformou em montes de cinzas, como exemplo do que acontecerá aos perversos.
7 And, righteous Lot, when getting worn out by the behaviour of them who were impious in wantonness, he rescued
7 Em contrapartida, resgatou Ló, tirando-o de Sodoma, por ser ele um homem justo, afligido com a vergonhosa imoralidade dos perversos ao seu redor.
8 For, in seeing and hearing, since he dwelt right among them, as a righteous man, he used to torment his soul, day by day, with their lawless deeds
8 Sim, Ló era um homem justo, cuja alma justa era atormentada pela maldade que via e ouvia todos os dias.

9 Vemos, portanto, que o Senhor sabe resgatar das provações os que lhe são devotos e, ao mesmo tempo, manter os perversos sob castigo até o dia do julgamento.
10 Most of all, however, them who go their way, after the flesh, with a coveting of defilement, and who despise, lordship,daring! willful! before dignitaries, they tremble not, defaming,
10 Ele é particularmente severo com aqueles que seguem desejos e instintos distorcidos e desprezam a autoridade. Tais indivíduos são orgulhosos e arrogantes, e atrevem-se até a zombar de seres sobrenaturais.
11 where, messengers, though, greater in might and power, are not bringing against them before the Lord a defamatory accusation,
11 Já os anjos, muito maiores em poder e em força, não ousam apresentar diante do Senhor uma acusação de blasfêmia contra esses seres.
12 These, however, as unreasoning creatures that have been bred as being, by nature, for capture and destruction, in the things they are ignorant of, uttering defamation, in their spoiling, shall also be made a spoil,
12 Os falsos mestres são como criaturas irracionais movidas pelo instinto, que nascem para apanhar e morrer. Nada sabem sobre aqueles a quem insultam e, como animais, serão destruídos por sua própria corrupção.
13 Doing wrong themselves, for a reward of wrong, accounting, a delight, their day-time delicacy, spots and blemishes, indulging in delicacies with their stratagems, as they carouse together with you,
13 Praticam o mal e receberão o mal como recompensa. Gostam de se entregar à imoralidade em plena luz do dia. São uma vergonha e uma mancha no meio de vocês, sentindo prazer em enganá-los enquanto participam de suas refeições.
14 Having, eyes, full of an adulteress, and that cannot rest from sin, enticing unstable souls, having, a heart trained in greed,children of a curse,
14 Cometem adultério com os olhos e abrigam um desejo insaciável de pecar. Seduzem os instáveis e são bem treinados na ganância. Vivem sob maldição,
15 Forsaking a straight path, they have gone astray, following out the way of Balaam of Beor, who loved, a reward of wrong,
15 desviaram-se do caminho reto e seguem os passos de Balaão, filho de Beor, que amou a recompensa que receberia por fazer o mal.
16 But had, a reproof, of his own transgression, a dumb beast of burden, in mans voice, finding utterance, forbade the prophets madness.
16 Balaão, porém, foi refreado em sua loucura quando uma jumenta, que não fala, o repreendeu com voz humana.
17 These, are fountains without water, and mists, by a tempest, driven along,for whom, the gloom of darkness, hath been reserved;
17 Eles são como fontes secas ou a neblina levada pelo vento, e estão condenados às mais escuras trevas.
18 For, great swelling words of vanity, uttering, they entice with carnal covetingsin wanton waysthem who are, well-nigh, escaping from the men who, in error, have their behaviour;
18 Com palavras vazias, proclamam sua grandeza imaginária e apelam para desejos carnais distorcidos a fim de atrair de volta ao pecado aqueles que mal escaparam de uma vida enganosa.
19 Promising, freedom to them, they themselves, being all the while, slaves of corruption,for, by whom one hath been defeated, by the same, hath he become enslaved,
19 Prometem liberdade, mas eles próprios são escravos da corrupção. Pois cada um é escravo daquilo que o controla.
20 For, if, having escaped from the defilements of the world by a personal knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but, by the same having again become entangled, they are defeated, the, last, state hath become, for them, worse than, the first;
20 E, quando alguém escapa da maldade do mundo ao conhecer nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo, mas depois se deixa emaranhar e se escravizar novamente pelo pecado, está pior que antes.
21 For, better, had it been for themnot to have obtained a personal knowledge of the way of righteousness, than, having obtained such knowledge, to turn back out of the holy commandment delivered unto them.
21 Teria sido melhor nunca haver conhecido o caminho da justiça do que, conhecendo-o, rejeitar a ordem recebida para viver de modo santo.
22 There hath befallen them the thing
22 Neles se confirmam os provérbios: “O cão volta a seu próprio vômito” e “A porca lavada volta a revolver-se na lama”.
