¹ Then, said Solomon,Yahweh, said, that he would make his habitation in thick gloom;

¹ Então falou Salomão: O SENHOR tem dito que ele habitaria na profunda escuridão.

² But, I, have built a house as a home for thee,A settled place for thee to abide in, for ages.

² Eu, porém, edifiquei uma casa de habitação para ti, e um lugar para a tua eterna morada.

³ And the king turned about his face, and blessed all the convocation of Israel,while, all the convocation of Israel, was standing;

³ E o rei virou a sua face, e abençoou toda a congregação de Israel, e toda a congregação de Israel estava em pé.

⁴ and he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Israel, who spake with his mouth, unto David my father,-and, with his hand, hath fulfilled, saying:

⁴ E ele disse: Bendito seja o SENHOR Deus de Israel, que com as suas mãos, cumpriu aquilo que ele falou com a sua boca ao meu pai Davi, dizendo:

⁵ From the day I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I made choice of no city, out of all the tribes of Israel, for building a house, where my Name might be,neither made I choice of any man, to be chief ruler over my people Israel:

⁵ Desde o dia em que eu retirei o meu povo da terra do Egito eu não escolhi cidade alguma dentre todas as tribos de Israel para nela edificar uma casa, para que o meu nome pudesse ali estar; tampouco escolhi homem algum para ser soberano sobre o meu povo, Israel;

⁶ nevertheless I have made choice of Jerusalem, that my Name might be there,and I have made choice of David, that he might be over my people Israel.

⁶ mas escolhi Jerusalém, para que o meu nome pudesse estar ali; e escolhi Davi para estar sobre o meu povo, Israel.

⁷ And so it came to pass, that it was near the heart of David my father,to build a house, to the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel.

⁷ Ora, estava no coração de Davi, o meu pai, edificar uma casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

⁸ Then said Yahweh unto David my father, Because it was near thy heart to build a house for my Name, thou didst well that it was near thy heart:

⁸ Porém, o SENHOR disse a Davi, o meu pai: Porquanto estava no teu coração edificar uma casa para o meu nome, fizeste bem em teres isto no teu coração.

⁹ Only, thou thyself, must not build the house,but, thine own son, that proceedeth out of thy loinshe, shall build the house for my Name.

⁹ Todavia não edificarás a casa; mas o teu filho que sairá dos teus lombos, ele edificará a casa para o meu nome.

¹⁰ So then Yahweh hath established his word, which he spake,and I have been raised up instead of David my father, and have taken my seat upon the throne of Israel, as spake Yahweh, and have built the house to the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel;

¹⁰ Portanto, o SENHOR cumpriu a palavra que falou; porque estou levantado no lugar de Davi, o meu pai, e estou posto no trono de Israel, como o SENHOR prometeu, e edifiquei a casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

¹¹ and have put there, the ark,wherein is the covenant of Yahweh,which he solemnised with the sons of Israel.

¹¹ E nela pus a arca, na qual está o pacto do SENHOR, que ele fez com os filhos de Israel.

¹² Then stood he before the altar of Yahweh, in the presence of all the convocation of Israel,and spread forth his hands;

¹² E pôs-se em pé diante do altar do SENHOR na presença de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos;

¹³ for Solomon had made a platform of bronze, and had set it in the midst of the enclosure, five cubits, the length thereof, and, five cubits, the breadth thereof, and, three cubits, the height thereof,-and he stood thereon, and knelt upon his knees, in the presence of all the convocation of Israel, and spread forth his hands, heavenward;

¹³ porque Salomão havia feito uma plataforma de bronze, de cinco côvados de comprimento, e cinco côvados de largura, e três côvados de altura, e a havia posto no meio do átrio; e pôs-se em pé sobre ela, e ajoelhou-se diante de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos em direção ao céu,

¹⁴ and said, O Yahweh! God of Israel, Not like unto thee, is there a god, in the heavens, or throughout the earth,who keepest Covenant and Lovingkindness for thy servants who are walking before thee with all their heart:

¹⁴ e ele disse: Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu no céu nem na terra, que guarda o pacto e demonstra misericórdia para com os teus servos que andam diante de ti de todo o seu coração.

¹⁵ who hast kept, for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him,in that thou didst promise with thy mouth, and, with thy hand, hast fulfilled, as this day.

¹⁵ Tu que tens guardado com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que lhe prometeste; e falaste com a tua boca, e o cumpriste com a tua mão, como é neste dia.

¹⁶ Now, therefore, O YahwehGod of Israel, keep thou, for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him, saying, There shall not be cut off to thee a man, from before me, to sit upon the throne of Israel, if only, thy sons take heed to their way, to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.

¹⁶ Agora, portanto, Ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, guarda com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, aquilo que tu lhe prometeste, dizendo: Não te faltará um homem diante de mim, para se assentar no trono de Israel; de modo que os teus filhos atentem ao seu caminho para andarem na minha lei, como tu andastes diante de mim.

¹⁷ Now, therefore, O Yahweh, God of Israel,-verified be thy promise, which thou didst make unto thy servant David.

¹⁷ Agora, pois, ó SENHOR Deus de Israel, cumpra-se a tua palavra, a qual falaste ao teu servo Davi.

¹⁸ But, in very deed, will God dwell with man on the earth? Lo! the heavens, even the leaven of heavens, cannot contain thee, how much less this house which I have built!

¹⁸ Mas, verdadeiramente habitará Deus, com os homens na terra? Eis que o céu e o céu dos céus não são capazes de te conter; quanto menos esta casa que eu construí!

¹⁹ Wilt thou then turn unto the prayer of thy servant and unto his supplication, O Yahweh my God,to hearken unto the cry and unto the prayer, wherewith thy servant is praying before thee:

¹⁹ Tem consideração, portanto, pela oração do teu servo, e pela sua súplica, ó SENHOR meu Deus, para atentares ao clamor e a oração, a qual o teu servo suplica diante de ti;

²⁰ that thine eyes may be open toward this house, day and night, toward the place of which thou hast said thou wouldst set thy Name there,to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant may pray towards this place:

²⁰ para que os teus olhos possam estar abertos sobre esta casa dia e noite, sobre o lugar do qual disseste que ali colocarias o teu nome; para atentares à oração que o teu servo ora em direção a este lugar.

²¹ wilt thou therefore hearken unto the supplications of thy servant, and thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place,yea wilt, thou thyself, hear, out of thine own dwelling-place, out of the heavens, and, when thou hearest, then wilt thou forgive?

²¹ Ouve, portanto, as súplicas do teu servo, e do teu povo, Israel, as quais eles farão em direção a este lugar; ouve do lugar da tua habitação, a saber, do céu; e quando ouvires, perdoa.

²² If a man shall sin against his neighbour, and there shall be laid upon him an oath, to put him on oath,and an oath shall come before thine altar in this house,

²² Se um homem pecar contra o seu próximo, e sobre ele lançado um juramento para fazê-lo jurar, e o juramento chegar diante do teu altar nesta casa;

²³ then wilt, thou thyself, hear out of the heavens, and act, and judge thy servants, bringing back unto the lawless, to set his way upon his own head,and justifying the righteous, by giving to him, according to his righteousness?

²³ ouve do céu, e faz, e julga os teus servos, condenando ao ímpio, para fazeres recair o seu proceder sobre a sua própria cabeça, e justificando ao justo, dando-lhe segundo a sua justiça.

²⁴ Or, if thy people Israel be smitten before an enemy, because they have been sinning against thee,and they turn, and confess thy Name, and pray and make supplication before thee, in this house,

²⁴ E se o teu povo, Israel, for derrotado diante do inimigo, por terem pecado contra ti; e se converterem e confessarem o teu nome e orarem e fizerem súplicas diante de ti nesta casa;

²⁵ then wilt, thou thyself, hear out of the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel,and bring them back unto the soil, which thou didst give to them and to their fathers?

²⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus, e perdoa o pecado do teu povo, Israel, e traz-lhes de volta para a terra que tu deste a eles e a seus pais.

²⁶ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain, because they have been sinning against thee,and they shall pray towards this place, and shall confess thy Name, from their sin, shall return, because thou hast been afflicting them,

²⁶ Quando o céu estiver fechado, e não houver chuva, por terem pecado contra ti; todavia se eles orarem em direção a este lugar, e confessarem o teu nome, e se converterem do seu pecado, quando tu os afligires;

²⁷ then wilt, thou thyself, hear the heavens and forgive the sin of thy servants, and thy people Israel, that thou mayest direct them into the good way, wherein they should walk,and give rain, upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people, for an inheritance?

²⁷ então, ouve tu do céu, e perdoa o pecado dos teus servos, e do teu povo, Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho no qual eles devem caminhar; e envia chuva sobre a tua terra, a qual tens dado ao teu povo por herança.

²⁸ When there shall be, a famine, in the land, when there shall be, a pestilence,when there shall be, blasting or mildew, locust or caterpillar,when their enemy shall besiege them in the land at their own gates-whatsoever plague or whatsoever sickness;-

²⁸ Se houver fome na terra, se houver peste, se houver crestamento ou mofo, locustas ou lagartas; se os seus inimigos os cercarem nas cidades da sua terra; qualquer que seja a ferida, ou qualquer que seja a enfermidade que houver;

²⁹ whatsoever prayer, whatsoever supplication, which any son of earth may have, or any of thy people Israel,when any man shall come to know his plague, or his pain, and so he shall spread abroad his hands towards this house

²⁹ então qualquer que seja a oração ou súplica que for feita por qualquer homem, ou de todo o teu povo Israel, quando cada um conhecer a sua própria ferida e a sua própria angústia, e estender as suas mãos nesta casa;

³⁰ then wilt, thou thyself, hear out of the heavens, the settled place of thine abode, and forgive, and grant to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou wilt know,for, thou thyself alone, knowest the heart of the sons of men:

³⁰ então, ouve tu do céu, o teu lugar de habitação, e perdoa, e concede a cada homem conforme todos os seus caminhos, cujo o coração tu conheces, (pois tu somente conheces os corações dos filhos dos homens),

³¹ to the end they may revere thee, to walk in thy ways, all the days which they shall be living upon the face of the soil,which thou gavest unto their fathers?

³¹ para que eles possam temer a ti, andando nos teus caminhos, enquanto viverem na terra que tu deste aos nossos pais.

³² Moreover also, unto the stranger who is not, of thy people Israel, but he shall come in out of a far countryfor the sake of thy great Name, and of thy strong hand, and of thine outstretched arm,and so they shall come in and pray towards this house,

³² Além disso, acerca do estrangeiro, o qual não é do teu povo, Israel, mas é chegado de terras distantes por causa do teu grande nome, e da tua forte mão, e do teu braço estendido; vindo eles e orando nesta casa;

³³ then wilt, thou thyself, hear out of the heavens, out of the settled place of thine abode, and do according to all for which the stranger shall cry unto thee,to the end that all the peoples of the earth may know thy Name, so as to revere thee like thy people Israel, and know that, thy Name, hath been given unto this house, which I have built?

³³ ouve tu dos céus, do teu lugar de habitação, e faz segundo tudo o que o estrangeiro te clamar; para que todos os povos da terra possam conhecer o teu nome, e temer-te como faz o teu povo, Israel; e possam saber que essa casa, a qual edifiquei, é chamada pelo teu nome.

³⁴ When thy people shall go forth to war against their enemies, whithersoever thou mayest send them,and shall pray unto thee in the direction of this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy Name,

³⁴ Se o teu povo sair à guerra contra os seus inimigos, pelo caminho que tu os enviares, e eles orarem a ti voltados para esta cidade que tu escolheste, e a casa que eu construí para o teu nome;

³⁵ then wilt thou hear, out of the heavens, their prayer and their supplication,and maintain their right.

³⁵ então, ouve tu dos céus a sua oração e a sua súplica, e sustenta a sua causa.

³⁶ When they sin against theefor there is no son of earth who sinneth notand thou shalt be angry with them, and deliver them up before an enemy,who shall carry them away as their captives into a landfar away or near;

³⁶ Se eles pecarem contra ti, (pois não há homem que não peque) e tu ficares irado com eles, e os entregares diante dos seus inimigos, e eles os levarem cativos para uma terra longínqua ou próxima;

³⁷ and they come back to their right mind, in the land whither they have been taken captive,and so turn and make supplication unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and been lawless;

³⁷ e na terra, para onde forem levados cativos, caírem em si, e se converterem e orarem a ti na terra do seu cativeiro, dizendo: Pecamos, fizemos o mal, e agimos impiamente;

³⁸ and so turn unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captive,and shall pray in the direction of their own land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and the city which thou hast chosen, and unto the house which I have built for thy Name,

³⁸ se voltarem a ti de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma na terra do seu cativeiro, para a qual foram levados cativos, e orarem em direção à sua terra, a qual tu deste aos seus pais, e em direção à cidade que tu escolheste, e em direção à casa que edifiquei para o teu nome,

³⁹ then wilt thou hear out of the heavensout of the settled place of thine abodetheir prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause,and forgive thy people, that wherein they sinned against thee?

³⁹ então, ouve dos céus, a saber, do teu local de habitação, as suas orações e as suas súplicas, e sustenta a sua causa, e perdoa o teu povo que pecou contra ti.

⁴⁰ Now, O my God, letI beseech theethine eyes be open, and thine ears attent,unto the prayer of this place.

⁴⁰ Agora, Deus meu, suplico-te que estejam abertos os teus olhos, e que os teus ouvidos estejam atentos à oração que é feita neste lugar.

⁴¹ Now, therefore, arise! O Yahweh God, unto thy rest, thou, and the ark of thy strength: Thy priests, O Yahweh God, let them be clothed with salvation, and, thy men of lovingkindness, let them rejoice in prosperity.

⁴¹ Agora, portanto, levanta-te, ó SENHOR Deus, no teu lugar de repouso, tu e a arca da tua fortaleza; que os teus sacerdotes, ó SENHOR Deus, sejam revestidos de salvação, e que os teus santos se regozijem em bondade.

⁴² O Yahweh God! do not turn away thy face from thine Anointed One,oh remember lovingkindness unto David thy servant.

⁴² Ó SENHOR Deus, não desvies a tua face dos teus ungidos; lembra-te das misericórdias de Davi, o teu servo.
