1 twenty-five years old, was Jotham when he began to reign, and, sixteen years, reigned he in Jerusalem,and, the name of his mother, was Jerushah, daughter of Zadok.
1 Tinha Jotão vinte e cinco anos de idade, quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém; e era o nome de sua mãe Jerusa, filha de Zadoque.
2 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that Uzziah his father had done, only he entered not into the temple of Yahweh,though still were the people acting corruptly.
2 E fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, conforme a tudo o que fizera Uzias, seu pai, exceto que não entrou no templo do Senhor. E o povo ainda se corrompia.
3 He, built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh,-and, on the wall of Ophel, built he extensively.
3 Ele edificou a porta superior da casa do Senhor, e também edificou muitas obras sobre o muro de Ofel.
4 Cities also, built he, in the hill country of Judah,and, in the thick woods, built he fortresses and towers.
4 Também edificou cidades nas montanhas de Judá, e castelos e torres nos bosques.
5 He, also made war against the king of the sons of Ammon, and prevailed against them, and the sons of Ammon gave him, during that year, a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and, of barley, ten thousand,this, did the sons of Ammon render him, both in the second year, and the third.
5 Ele também guerreou contra o rei dos filhos de Amom, e prevaleceu sobre eles, de modo que os filhos de Amom naquele ano lhe deram cem talentos de prata, e dez mil coros de trigo, e dez mil de cevada; isto lhe trouxeram os filhos de Amom também no segundo e no terceiro ano.
6 So Jotham strengthened himself,for he fixed his ways before Yahweh his God.
6 Assim se fortificou Jotão, porque dirigiu os seus caminhos na presença do Senhor seu Deus.
7 But, the rest of the story of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo! there they are written in the book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
7 Ora, o restante dos atos de Jotão, e todas as suas guerras e os seus caminhos, eis que estão escritos no livro dos reis de Israel e de Judá.
8 Twenty-five years old, was he when he began to reign,and, sixteen years, reigned he in Jerusalem.
8 Tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade, quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém.
9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him, in the city of David,and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
9 E dormiu Jotão com seus pais, e sepultaram-no na cidade de Davi; e Acaz, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
