1 Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, when, he, was sixteen years old,and made him king, instead of his father Amaziah.
1 Então, todo o povo de Judá tomou a Uzias, que tinha dezesseis anos de idade, e o fez rei em lugar do seu pai, Amazias.
2 He, built Eloth, and restored it to Judah,after that the king slept with his fathers.
2 Ele edificou Elate, e a restituiu a Judá, depois que, o rei dormiu com os seus pais.
3 Sixteen years old, was Uzziah, when he began to reign, and, fifty-two years, reigned he in Jerusalem,-and, the name of his mother, was Jechiliah, of Jerusalem.
3 Dezesseis anos de idade tinha Uzias quando começou a reinar; e reinou cinquenta e dois anos em Jerusalém. O nome da sua mãe era Jecolias, de Jerusalém.
4 And he did that which was right, in the eyes of Yahweh,according to all that Amaziah his father had done.
4 E ele fez aquilo que era reto aos olhos do SENHOR, segundo tudo o que o seu pai Amazias fez.
5 And it came to pass that he set himself to seek God, in the days of Zechariah, who gave understanding in the seeing of God,and, throughout the days of his seeking Yahweh, God, prospered him.
5 E ele buscou a Deus nos dias de Zacarias, que tinha entendimento nas visões de Deus; e enquanto ele buscou ao SENHOR, Deus o fez prosperar.
6 So he went forth and made war against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod,and built cities in Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
6 E ele saiu e guerreou contra os filisteus, e demoliu o muro de Gate, e o muro de Jabné, e o muro de Asdode, e edificou cidades junto a Asdode, e entre os filisteus.
7 And God helped him against the Philistines and against the Arabians who dwelt in Gur-baal, and the Meunim.
7 E Deus o ajudou contra os filisteus, e contra os árabes que habitavam em Gur-Baal, e contra os meunitas.
8 And the Ammonites gave a present to Uzziah,and his name went forth as far as the entering in of Egypt, for he shewed exceeding great strength.
8 E os amonitas deram presentes a Uzias; e o seu nome se espalhou, a saber, até a entrada do Egito; porque ele se fortaleceu sobejamente.
9 And Uzziah built towers, in Jerusalem, over the corner-gate, and over the valley-gate, and over the angle,and he made them strong.
9 Além disso, Uzias edificou torres em Jerusalém no portão do canto, e no portão do vale, e na esquina do muro, e os fortificou.
10 And he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells, for, much cattle, had he, both in the lowland, and in the plain,husbandmen and vinedressers, in the mountains and in the fruitful field, for, a lover of the soil, was he.
10 Ele também edificou torres no deserto, e cavou muitos poços; porquanto tinha muito gado, tanto na região baixa, quanto nas planícies; também lavradores e vinhateiros nos montes, e no Carmelo; porque ele amava a lavoura.
11 And it came to pass that Uzziah had a force ready to make war, to go forth as a host in company, by the number of their reckoning, under the direction of Jeiel the scribe, and Maaseiah the officer,under the direction of Hananiah, from among the captains of the king.
11 Além disso, Uzias tinha um exército de homens de luta, que saíam à guerra em tropas, de acordo com a contagem feita pela mão de Jeiel, o escriba, e de Maaseias, o soberano, debaixo das mãos de Hananias, um dos capitães do rei.
12 The whole number of the ancestral chiefs pertaining to the heroes of valour, was two thousand and six hundred;
12 O número total dos chefes dos pais, homens fortes e valentes, foram dois mil e seiscentos.
13 and, under their direction, was the force of a host, three hundred and seven thousand five hundred, ready to make war, with the strength of a force,for helping the king against an enemy.
13 E debaixo da sua mão estava um exército, trezentos e sete mil e quinhentos, que faziam guerra com mui grande poder, para ajudar o rei contra o inimigo.
14 And Uzziah prepared for them, for all the host, bucklers and spears and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows,and yea even sling-stones.
14 E preparou-lhes Uzias, para todo o exército, escudos e lanças, e elmos, e couraças, e arcos, e fundas para atirar pedras.
15 And he made in Jerusalem, inventions invented of the inventor, to be upon the towers and upon the turrets, for throwing with arrows, and with great stones,so that his name went forth afar, for he was marvellously helped, until that he was strong.
15 E ele fez em Jerusalém máquinas, inventadas por homens peritos, para estarem sobre as torres e nos cantos dos muros, para se atirar com flechas e grandes pedras. E o seu nome se espalhou mui longe; porque ele foi maravilhosamente ajudado, até que se tornou forte.
16 But, when he became strong, uplifted was his heart, unto ruin, for he acted unfaithfully against Yahweh his God,and entered into the temple of Yahweh, to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
16 Porém, havendo-se fortalecido, o seu coração ficou exaltado para a sua destruição; porque ele transgrediu contra o SENHOR seu Deus, e adentrou o templo do SENHOR para queimar incenso sobre o altar do incenso.
17 Then entered after him, Azariah the priest,and with him eighty priests of Yahweh, sons of valour;
17 E Azarias, o sacerdote, entrou após ele, e com ele oitenta sacerdotes do SENHOR, que eram homens valentes;
18 and they took their stand against Uzziah the king, and said unto him-It is not, for thee, O Uzziah, to burn incense unto Yahweh, but, for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are hallowed, to burn incense. Go forth out of the sanctuary, for thou hast acted unfaithfully, and, not to thee, for an honour, from Yahweh Elohim.
18 e eles resistiram a Uzias, o rei, e disseram-lhe: Não compete a ti, Uzias, queimar incenso para o SENHOR, mas aos sacerdotes, aos filhos de Arão, que são consagrados para queimar incenso; sai do santuário; porque tu transgrediste; tampouco isto será para a tua honra da parte do SENHOR Deus.
19 Then was Uzziah wroth, and, in his hand, was a censer, to burn incense,and, when he was wroth with the priests, a leprosy, shot forth in his forehead, before the priests, in the house of Yahweh, from off the altar of incense.
19 Então, Uzias ficou irado, e tinha um incensário na sua mão para queimar incenso; e enquanto estava irado com os sacerdotes, nasceu-lhe a lepra na sua testa, diante dos sacerdotes na casa do SENHOR, do lado do altar de incenso.
20 When Azariah the chief priest and all the priests turned towards him, lo! he, was leprous, in his forehead, so they hastened him from thence,yea, even he himself, hurried to go out, because Yahweh had smitten him.
20 E Azarias, o sumo sacerdote, e todos os sacerdotes, olharam para ele, e eis que ele ficou leproso na sua testa, e o empurraram para fora dali; sim, ele mesmo se apressou em sair, porque o SENHOR lhe havia ferido.
21 And it came to pass that, Uzziah the king, was a leper until the day of his death, and dwelt in a house aparta leper, for he was cut off from the house of Yahweh,and, Jotham his son, was over the house of the king, judging the people of the land.
21 E o rei Uzias ficou leproso até o dia da sua morte, e sendo um leproso, habitou em uma casa separada; porque ele foi cortado da casa do SENHOR; e Jotão, o seu filho esteve sobre a casa do rei, julgando o povo da terra.
22 Now, the rest of the story of Uzziah, first and last, hath Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet, written.
22 Ora, o restante dos atos de Uzias, os primeiros e os últimos, escreveu o profeta Isaías, o filho de Amoz.
23 And Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial that pertained unto the kings, for they said, A leper, he is. And Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
23 Assim, Uzias dormiu com os seus pais, e eles o sepultaram com os seus pais no campo de sepultamento que pertencia aos reis; porque disseram: Ele é um leproso; e Jotão, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
