¹ Then, did Solomon call together the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, chiefs of the fathers of the sons of Israel, unto King Solomon in Jerusalem,that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, out of the city of David, the same is Zion.

¹ Então Salomão reuniu os anciãos de Israel, e todos os cabeças das tribos, os chefes dos pais dos filhos de Israel, diante do rei Salomão em Jerusalém, para que eles pudessem fazer subir a arca do pacto do SENHOR para fora da cidade de Davi, que é Sião.

² So all the men of Israel came together unto King Solomon, in the month of steady flowings, at the festival,the same is the seventh month.

² E todos os homens de Israel se reuniram diante do rei Salomão na festa no mês de Etanim, que é o sétimo mês.

³ And all the elders of Israel came in,and the priests took up the ark;

³ E vieram todos os anciãos de Israel, e os sacerdotes ergueram a arca.

⁴ and they brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the hallowed vessels that were in the tent,yea, the priests and the Levites, did bring them up.

⁴ E trouxeram a arca do SENHOR, e o tabernáculo da congregação, e todos os vasos santos que estavam no tabernáculo, assim os trouxeram para cima os sacerdotes e os levitas.

⁵ And, King Solomon, and all the assembly of Israel who had assembled themselves unto him, were with him, before the ark,sacrificing sheep and oxen, which could neither be recorded nor counted, for multitude.

⁵ E o rei Salomão, e toda a congregação de Israel, que estavam reunidos com ele, estiveram diante da arca, sacrificando ovelhas e bois, que não podiam ser contados ou enumerados por causa da sua multidão.

⁶ So the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh into its place, into the shrine of the house, into the holy of holies,under the wings of the cherubim.

⁶ E os sacerdotes trouxeram a arca do pacto do SENHOR até ao seu lugar, dentro do oráculo da casa, ao lugar santíssimo, bem debaixo das asas dos querubins.

⁷ For, the cherubim, were spreading forth their two wings, over the place of the ark,and the cherubim made a covering over the ark and over the staves thereof, above.

⁷ Porquanto os querubins estendiam as suas duas asas sobre o lugar da arca, e os querubins cobriam a arca e as suas hastes pelo alto.

⁸ And they drew out the staves, and the heads of the staves were seen from the holy place, in front of the shrine, although they were not seen on the outside,and they have remained there until this day.

⁸ E eles removeram as hastes, de forma que as extremidades das hastes eram vistas fora, no lugar santo na frente do oráculo, e não eram vistas na parte de fora; e ali estão até este dia.

⁹ There was nothing in the ark, save the two tables of stone, which Moses deposited there in Horeb,the tables of the covenant which Yahweh solemnised with the sons of Israel, when they came forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁹ Não havia nada na arca, salvo as duas tábuas de pedra, as quais Moisés ali colocou em Horebe, quando o SENHOR fez um pacto com os filhos de Israel, quando eles saíram da terra do Egito.

¹⁰ And so it was, when the priests came forth out of the holy place, that, a cloud, filled the house of Yahweh;

¹⁰ E sucedeu, quando os sacerdotes haviam saído do lugar santo, que a nuvem encheu a casa do SENHOR,

¹¹ so that the priests could not stand to minister, because of the cloud,for, the glory of Yahweh, filled, the house of Yahweh.

¹¹ de tal modo que os sacerdotes não conseguiam ficar de pé para ministrar por causa da nuvem; porque a glória do SENHOR havia enchido a casa do SENHOR.

¹² Then, said Solomon,Yahweh, said, that he would make his habitation in thick gloom:

¹² Então, falou Salomão: O SENHOR disse que habitaria na profunda escuridão.

¹³ I have, built, a house as a high abode for thee,A settled place for thee to abide in, for ages.

¹³ Seguramente edifiquei para ti uma casa para nela habitares, um lugar firme para habitares eternamente.

¹⁴ And the king turned about his face, and blessed all the convocation of Israel,while all the convocation of Israel was standing;

¹⁴ E o rei virou a sua face, e abençoou toda a congregação de Israel; e toda a congregação de Israel se pôs de pé;

¹⁵ and he saidBlessed, be Yahweh, God of Israel, who spake with his mouth, unto David my father,that which with his hand he hath fulfilled, saying:

¹⁵ e disse: Bendito seja o SENHOR de Israel, o qual falou com a sua boca a Davi, o meu pai, e, pela sua mão o cumpriu, dizendo:

¹⁶ Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel, out of Egypt, I had chosen no city, out of all the tribes of Israel, for building a house, where my Name might be,but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my Name should be there, and I have chosen David, to be over my people Israel:

¹⁶ Desde o dia em que retirei o meu povo Israel do Egito, não escolhi cidade alguma de todas as tribos de Israel para edificar uma casa, a fim de que o meu nome pudesse nela estar; mas escolhi Davi para estar sobre o meu povo, Israel.

¹⁷ And so it came to pass, that it was near the heart of David my father,to build a house for the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel.

¹⁷ E estava no coração de Davi, o meu pai, edificar uma casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

¹⁸ Then said Yahweh unto David my father, Because it was near thy heart to build a house for my Name, thou didst well that it was near thy heart;

¹⁸ E o SENHOR disse a Davi, o meu pai: Porquanto estava no teu coração edificar uma casa para o meu nome, fizeste bem ao teres isto no teu coração.

¹⁹ Only, thou thyself, must not build the house,but, thine own son who hath proceeded out of thy loins, he, shall build the house, for my Name.

¹⁹ Todavia não edificarás a casa; mas o teu filho que sairá dos teus lombos, ele edificará a casa para o meu nome.

²⁰ So then Yahweh hath established his word which he spake,and I have been raised up in the room of David my father, and have taken my seat upon the throne of Israel, as spake Yahweh, and have built the house for the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel;

²⁰ E o SENHOR cumpriu a sua palavra que falou, e me levantei no lugar de Davi, o meu pai, e me assentei no trono de Israel, como o SENHOR prometeu, e edifiquei uma casa para o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel.

²¹ and have appointed there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Yahweh,which he solemnised with our fathers, when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt.

²¹ E pus ali um lugar para a arca, no qual está o pacto do SENHOR, o qual ele fez com os nossos pais, quando os retirou da terra do Egito.

²² And Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh, in the presence of all the convocation of Israel,and spread forth his hands towards the heavens;

²² E Salomão se pôs de pé diante do altar do SENHOR na presença de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos em direção ao céu;

²³ and saidO Yahweh, God of Israel! Not like thee, is there a God, in the heavens above, or upon the earth beneath,keeping Covenant and Lovingkindness for thy servants who are walking before thee, with all their heart;

²³ e ele disse: SENHOR, Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu, no céu acima, nem na terra abaixo, que guarda o pacto e a misericórdia para com os teus servos que andam diante de ti com todo o seu coração;

²⁴ who hast kept for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him,in that thou didst promise with thy mouth, and, with thy hand, hast fulfilled, as it is this day.

²⁴ que tem guardado com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, como lhe prometeste; tu falaste também com a tua boca, e com a tua mão o cumpriste, como é neste dia.

²⁵ Now, therefore, O Yahweh, God of Israel, keep thou for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him, saying, There shall not be cut off to thee a man from before me, to sit upon the throne of Israel,if only, thy sons take heed to their way, by walking before me, as thou hast walked before me.

²⁵ Portanto, agora, SENHOR Deus de Israel, guarda com o teu servo Davi, o meu pai, como lhe prometeste, dizendo: Não te faltará um homem no trono de Israel; de modo que os teus filhos atentem ao seu caminho, que andem diante de mim como tu tens caminhado diante de mim.

²⁶ Now, therefore, O God of Israel,verified be thy word, I pray thee, which thou didst speak to thy servant, David my father.

²⁶ E, agora, ó Deus de Israel, rogo-te, cumpra-se a tua palavra que falaste a teu servo Davi, meu pai.

²⁷ But, in very deed, will God dwell, upon the earth? Lo! the heaven, yea the heaven of heavens, cannot contain thee, how much less this house which I have built?

²⁷ Todavia, habitará verdadeiramente Deus na terra? Eis que, o céu e o céu dos céus não podem te conter; tanto menos esta casa que eu tenho edificado?

²⁸ Yet wilt thou turn unto the prayer of thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Yahweh my God,to hearken unto the cry, and unto the prayer, wherewith thy servant doth pray before thee to-day;

²⁸ Contudo, tem tu respeito pela oração do teu servo, e pela sua súplica, ó SENHOR meu Deus, para atentarem ao clamor e a oração, a qual o teu servo suplica diante de ti hoje;

²⁹ that thine eye may be opened toward this house, night and day, toward the place of which thou hast said, My Name shall be, there; hearkening unto the prayer which thy servant shall offer toward this place.

²⁹ para que os teus olhos noite e dia possam estar abertos em direção a esta casa em direção ao lugar do qual tens dito: O meu nome estará ali; para que possas ouvir a oração que o teu servo fará em direção a este lugar.

³⁰ Wilt, thou, therefore, hearken unto the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, whensoever they shall pray toward this place,yea wilt, thou thyself, hear, in thine own dwelling-place, in the heavens, and, when thou hearest, then wilt thou forgive?

³⁰ E ouve a súplica do teu servo, e do teu povo Israel, quando eles orarem em direção a este lugar; e ouve tu no céu, o teu lugar de habitação; e, quando ouvires, perdoa.

³¹ When a man shall sin against his neighbour, and there shall be taken up against him an oath, to put him on oath,and he shall come in and swear before thine altar, in this house,

³¹ Se qualquer homem transgredir contra o seu próximo, e lançado um juramento sobre ele para fazer com que ele blasfeme, e o juramento chegar diante do teu altar nesta casa;

³² then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, and act, and judge thy servants, condemning the lawless, by setting his way upon his own head,and justifying the righteous, by giving to him, according to his righteousness?

³² ouve no céu, move-te, e julga os teus servos, condenando ao ímpio, para fazeres recair o seu proceder sobre sua cabeça, e justificando ao justo, para lhe retribuíres segundo a sua justiça.

³³ When thy people Israel are smitten before an enemy, because they have been sinning against thee,and they turn again unto thee, and confess thy Name, and pray and make supplication unto thee, in this house,

³³ Quando o teu povo, Israel, for abatido diante do inimigo, por terem pecado contra ti, e retornar a ti, e confessar o teu nome, e orar, e fizer súplica a ti nesta casa;

³⁴ then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them back unto the soil, which thou gavest unto their fathers?

³⁴ então, ouve tu no céu, e perdoa o pecado do teu povo, Israel, e traz-lhe de volta para a terra que tu deste aos seus pais.

³⁵ When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have been sinning against thee,and they shall pray toward this place, and confess thy Name, and, from their sin, shall return, because thou hast been afflicting them,

³⁵ Quando o céu estiver recolhido, e não houver chuva, por terem pecado contra ti; se orarem em direção a este lugar, e confessarem o teu nome, e se converterem do seu pecado, quando tu os afligires;

³⁶ then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou mayest teach them the good way, wherein they should walk,and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people, for an inheritance?

³⁶ então, ouve tu no céu, e perdoa o pecado dos teus servos, e do teu povo, Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho no qual eles devem caminhar, e dês chuva sobre a tua terra, a qual deste ao teu povo como herança.

³⁷ When there shall be, famine, in the land, when there shall be, pestilence, when there shall be, blasting, mildew locust, caterpillar, when their enemy shall besiege them in one of their own gates,whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness;

³⁷ Se houver na terra fome, se houver peste, crestamento, mofo, locusta, ou se houver lagarta; se o seu inimigo o cercar na terra das suas cidades; qualquer praga, qualquer enfermidade que houver.

³⁸ any prayer, any supplication which, any son of earth, may have, of all thy people Israel,who will certainly know every man the plague of his own heart, and so he shall spread abroad his hands towards this house,

³⁸ Qualquer forma de oração e súplica que for feita por qualquer homem, ou por todo o teu povo, Israel, cada homem que conhecer a praga do seu próprio coração, e estender as suas mãos em direção a esta casa;

³⁹ then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, in the settled place of thine abode, and forgive and act, and give unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou wilt know,for, thou thyself alone, knowest the heart of all the sons of men;

³⁹ então, ouve tu no céu, o teu lugar de habitação, e perdoa, e faz, e concede a cada homem, cujo coração conheces, conforme os seus caminhos; (pois tu, somente tu, conheces os corações de todos os filhos dos homens);

⁴⁰ to the end they may revere thee, all the days which they do live, upon the face of the soil,which thou gavest unto our fathers?

⁴⁰ para que eles possam te temer todos os dias em que viverem na terra que tu deste aos nossos pais.

⁴¹ Moreover also, unto the stranger, who is, not of thy people Israel,but hath come in out of a far country, for the sake of thy Name,

⁴¹ Além disso, acerca de um estrangeiro que não for do teu povo Israel, quando sair de uma região distante por causa do teu nome;

⁴² (for they will certainly hear of thy great Name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched-out arm,and so will come in and pray towards this house),

⁴² (porque eles ouvirão do teu grande nome, e da tua mão forte, e do teu braço estendido); quando ele vier e orar na direção desta casa;

⁴³ wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, the settled place of thine abode, and act, according to all for which, the stranger, shall cry unto thee,to the end that all the peoples of the earth may truly know thy Name, so as to revere thee, like thy people Israel, and to know that, thine own Name, hath been given unto this house, which I have built?

⁴³ ouve tu no céu, o teu lugar de habitação, e faz segundo tudo o que o estrangeiro te clamar; para que todos os povos da terra possam conhecer o teu nome, temer-te como faz o teu povo, Israel; e que eles possam saber que esta casa, a qual edifiquei, é chamada pelo teu nome.

⁴⁴ When thy people go forth to war against their enemy, whithersoever thou mayest send them,and shall pray unto Yahweh, in the direction of the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy Name,

⁴⁴ Se o teu povo sair à batalha contra o seu inimigo, para onde quer que os enviares, e orarem ao SENHOR em direção à cidade que tu escolheste, e em direção à casa que edifiquei para o teu nome;

⁴⁵ then wilt thou hear, in the heavens, their prayer and their supplication,and maintain their cause?

⁴⁵ então, ouve tu no céu a sua oração e a sua súplica, e sustenta a sua causa.

⁴⁶ When they sin against theefor there is, no son of earth, that sinneth not, and thou shalt be angry with them, and deliver them up before an enemy,who shall carry them away as their captives, into the land of the enemy, far or near;

⁴⁶ Se eles pecarem contra ti, (pois não há homem que não peque) e tu estiveres irado com eles, e os entregares ao inimigo, de modo que esses os levem cativos para a terra do inimigo, longe ou perto;

⁴⁷ and they come back to their right mind, in the land whither they have been taken captive,and so turn and make supplication unto thee, in the land of their captors, saying, We have sinned and done perversely, we have been lawless;

⁴⁷ se na terra para onde foram levados cativos, eles tornarem em si, e se arrependerem, e fizerem súplica a ti na terra daqueles que os levaram cativos, dizendo: Temos pecado, e temos agido perversamente, temos cometido iniquidade;

⁴⁸ and so they turn unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, who have carried them away captive,and pray unto thee in the direction of their own land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy Name,

⁴⁸ e assim retornarem a ti com todo o seu coração, e com toda a sua alma, na terra dos seus inimigos, o qual os levou cativos, e orarem a ti em direção à sua terra, a qual deste aos seus pais, à cidade que tu escolheste, e à casa que edifiquei para o teu nome;

⁴⁹ then wilt thou hearken in the heavens, the settled place of thine abode, unto their prayer, and unto their supplication,and maintain their cause;

⁴⁹ então, ouve tu a sua oração e a sua súplica no céu, o teu lugar de habitação, e sustenta a sua causa,

⁵⁰ and grant forgiveness to thy people, who have sinned against thee, even as to all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee,and grant them compassion before their captors, so that they may have compassion upon them;

⁵⁰ e perdoa o teu povo que pecou contra ti, e todas as transgressões com as quais eles transgrediram contra ti, e dá-lhes compaixão diante daqueles que os levaram cativos, para que possam ter compaixão deles;

⁵¹ because, thy people and thine inheritance, they are,whom thou didst bring forth out of Egypt, out of the midst of the smelting-pot of iron;

⁵¹ porque eles são o teu povo, e a tua herança, que tiraste do Egito, do meio da fornalha de ferro;

⁵² that thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel,to hearken unto them, in all their crying unto thee;

⁵² para que os teus olhos possam estar abertos à súplica do teu servo, e à súplica do teu povo, Israel, para atentares a eles em tudo o que a ti clamarem.

⁵³ because, thou thyself, didst separate them unto thee, for an inheritance, out of all the peoples of the earth,as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest forth our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Yahweh.

⁵³ Porque tu os separaste dentre todos os povos da terra, para serem a tua herança, como falaste pela mão de Moisés, o teu servo, quando retiraste os nossos pais do Egito, ó SENHOR Deus.

⁵⁴ And it came to pass, when Solomon had made an end of praying unto Yahweh all this prayer and supplication, that he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees, with his hands outspread to the heavens;

⁵⁴ E foi assim que, quando Salomão terminou de orar toda esta oração e súplica ao SENHOR, ele se levantou da frente do altar do SENHOR, onde estava ajoelhado, com as suas mãos estendidas ao céu.

⁵⁵ and stood and blessed all the convocation of Israel,with a loud voice, saying:

⁵⁵ E ele se pôs de pé, e abençoou toda a congregação de Israel em voz alta, dizendo:

⁵⁶ Blessed, be Yahweh, who hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised,there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

⁵⁶ Bendito seja o SENHOR, que tem dado descanso para o seu povo, Israel, segundo tudo o que prometeu; não tem falhado nenhuma palavra de toda a sua boa promessa, a qual ele prometeu pela mão de Moisés, o seu servo.

⁵⁷ Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers,let him not leave us, nor forsake us;

⁵⁷ O SENHOR, nosso Deus, seja conosco, assim como esteve com os nossos pais; que ele não nos deixe, nem nos abandone;

⁵⁸ but bow our heart unto himself,to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his regulations, which he commanded our fathers.

⁵⁸ para que possa inclinar os nossos corações a ele, para andarmos em todos os seus caminhos, e para guardarmos os seus mandamentos, os seus estatutos e os seus juízos, os quais ele ordenou aos nossos pais.

⁵⁹ And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before Yahweh, be near unto Yahweh our God, day and night,that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as any need ariseth:

⁵⁹ E que estas minhas palavras, com as quais fiz súplica diante do SENHOR, estejam próximas do SENHOR nosso Deus dia e noite, que ele sustente a causa do seu servo, e a causa do seu povo, Israel, em todos os tempos, de acordo com o que precisarem;

⁶⁰ To the end that all the peoples of the earth may know, that, Yahweh, is God,there is none else.

⁶⁰ que todo o povo da terra possa saber que o SENHOR é Deus, e que não há nenhum outro.

⁶¹ So shall your heart be sound with Yahweh our God,to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

⁶¹ Que o vosso coração, portanto, seja perfeito diante do SENHOR nosso Deus, para andardes nos seus estatutos e para guardar os seus mandamentos, como neste dia.

⁶² And, the king, and all Israel with him, were offering sacrifice before Yahweh.

⁶² E o rei, e com ele todo o Israel, ofereceu sacrifício diante do SENHOR.

⁶³ So Solomon offered as a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered unto YahwehOxen, two and twenty thousand, and Sheep, a hundred and twenty thousand,Thus did, the king and all the sons of Israel, dedicate the house of Yahweh.

⁶³ E Salomão ofereceu um sacrifício de ofertas de paz, o qual ele ofereceu ao SENHOR vinte e dois mil bois, e cento e vinte mil ovelhas. Assim, o rei e todos os filhos de Israel dedicaram a casa do SENHOR.

⁶⁴ On that day, did the king hallow the middle of the court, that was before the house of Yahweh,for he offered there the ascending-sacrifice, and the meal-offering, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings, because, the altar of bronze that was before Yahweh, was too small to receive the ascending-sacrifice and the meal-offering, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings.

⁶⁴ No mesmo dia o rei consagrou o meio do pátio que havia diante da casa do SENHOR; porquanto ali ele ofereceu ofertas queimadas, e ofertas de alimento, e a gordura das ofertas de paz; porque o altar de bronze que estava diante do SENHOR era demasiadamente pequeno para receber as ofertas queimadas, e as ofertas de alimento, e a gordura das ofertas de paz.

⁶⁵ And Solomon made, at that time, a festivaland all Israel with hima great convocation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the ravine of Egypt, before Yahweh our God, seven days, and seven days,fourteen days.

⁶⁵ E, naquele tempo, Salomão fez uma festa, e com ele todo o Israel, uma grande congregação, desde a entrada de Hamate até o rio do Egito, diante do SENHOR nosso Deus, por sete dias, e mais sete dias, a saber, catorze dias.

⁶⁶ And on the eighth day, he sent the people away, and they blessed the king,and departed to their homes, rejoicing and glad of heart, over all the goodness which Yahweh had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

⁶⁶ No oitavo dia ele despediu o povo; e eles bendisseram o rei, e foram até as suas tendas alegres e contentes de coração por toda a bondade que o SENHOR havia feito a Davi, o seu servo, e a Israel, o seu povo.
