1 And Hiram King of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon, for he had heard that, him, had they anointed king, in the room of his father,for, Hiram, was, a lover, of, David continually.
1 Hirão, rei de Tiro, sempre havia sido um fiel aliado de Davi. Quando soube que Salomão, filho de Davi, tinha sido ungido como o novo rei de Israel, Hirão mandou representantes para cumprimentá-lo.
2 So Solomon sent unto Hiram, saying:
2 Salomão enviou esta mensagem a Hirão:
3 Thou, knewest David my father, how that he could not build a house unto the Name of Yahweh his God, because of the wars that were about him on every side,until Yahweh should put them under the soles of his feet;
3 “Você sabe que meu pai, Davi, não pôde construir um templo em honra ao nome do S enhor , seu Deus, por causa das muitas guerras que as nações vizinhas travaram contra ele. Não podia construir enquanto o S enhor não lhe desse vitória sobre todos os seus inimigos.
4 but, now, Yahweh my God hath given me rest on every side,there is neither adversary nor incident of evil.
4 Agora, porém, o S enhor , meu Deus, me deu paz em todas as fronteiras; não tenho inimigos, e tudo vai bem.
5 Behold me! then, purposing to build a house for the Name of Yahweh my Godeven as Yahweh spake unto David my father, sayingThy son, whom I will set in thy stead, upon thy throne, he, shall build the house for my Name.
5 Por isso, planejo construir um templo em honra ao nome do S enhor , meu Deus, exatamente como ele instruiu meu pai, Davi. Pois o S enhor lhe disse: ‘Seu filho, a quem eu colocarei em seu trono, construirá o templo em honra ao meu nome’.
6 Now, therefore, command thou that they fell me cedars, out of Lebanon, and, my servants, shall be, with thy servants, and, the hire of thy servants, will I give thee, according to all that thou shalt say,for, thou, knowest, that, none amongst us, hath skill to fell timber, like the Zidonians.
6 “Portanto, peço-lhe que ordene que cortem para mim cedros do Líbano. Meus servos trabalharão ao lado dos seus, e pagarei aos seus servos o salário que você pedir. Como bem sabe, ninguém aqui corta madeira como vocês, sidônios”.
7 And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly,and said: Blessed, be Yahweh, to-day, who hath given unto David a wise son, over this great people!
7 Hirão ficou muito contente quando recebeu a mensagem de Salomão e disse: “Louvado seja o S enhor neste dia, pois deu a Davi um filho sábio para ser rei dessa grande nação!”.
8 And Hiram sent unto Solomon, saying, I have heard that which thou hast sent unto me,I, will do all thy desire, as to timber of cedar, and timber of fir.
8 Então enviou esta resposta a Salomão: “Recebi sua mensagem e fornecerei toda a madeira de cedro e de cipreste que precisar.
9 My servants, shall bring them down out of Lebanon unto the sea, and, I, will put them in rafts on the sea, unto the place of which thou shalt send me word, and will cause them to be discharged there, and, thou, shalt receive them, and, thou, shalt do my desire, by giving food for my household.
9 Meus servos levarão as toras das montanhas do Líbano para o mar Mediterrâneo; ali, colocarão as toras em balsas e as farão flutuar ao longo da costa até o lugar que você escolher. Ao chegar, desembarcaremos as toras, e seus servos as levarão. O pagamento poderá ser feito com alimentos para o meu palácio”.
10 So then Hiram began giving unto Solomon timber of cedar, and timber of fir, even all his desire,
10 Assim, Hirão forneceu toda a madeira de cedro e de cipreste que Salomão desejava.
11 and, Solomon, gave unto Hiram, twenty thousand measures of wheat, as food for his household, and twenty measures of beaten oil,thus, used Solomon on to give unto Hiram, year by year.
11 Em troca, Salomão lhe enviava um pagamento anual de vinte mil cestos grandes de trigo para o consumo de sua corte e vinte mil tonéis de azeite puro de oliva.
12 And, Yahweh, gave wisdom unto Solomon, as he promised him,and it came to pass that there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and, they two, solemnised a covenant.
12 O S enhor deu sabedoria a Salomão, como lhe havia prometido. E Hirão e Salomão fizeram um acordo de paz.
13 And King Solomon raised a labour-band, out of all Israel,and it came to pass that, the labour-band, was thirty thousand men.
13 Então Salomão convocou trinta mil trabalhadores de todo o Israel.
14 And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month, by courses, a month, were they in Lebanon, two months, at home,and, Adoniram, was over the levy.
14 Enviou-os ao Líbano em grupos de dez mil por mês, de modo que cada homem passava um mês no Líbano e dois meses em casa. Adonirão era encarregado desses trabalhadores.
15 And it came to pass that, Solomon, had seventy thousand bearers of burdens,and eighty thousand hewers in the mountain;
15 Salomão também tinha 70.000 carregadores, 80.000 cortadores de pedra na região montanhosa
16 besides the chiefs of Solomons officers, who were over the work, three thousand and three hundred,who ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
16 e 3.600 chefes que supervisionavam as obras.
17 And the king commanded, and they quarried great stones, costly stones, to found the house with hewn stones.
17 Por ordem do rei, eles extraíram grandes blocos de pedra de alta qualidade e os modelaram para o alicerce do templo.
18 And Solomons builders and Hirams builders with the Gebalites wrought them,thus made they ready the timber and the stones, for building the house.
18 Homens da cidade de Gebal ajudaram os construtores de Salomão e Hirão a prepararem a madeira e as pedras para o templo.
