1 At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.
1 Naquele tempo Abias, o filho de Jeroboão, caiu enfermo.
2 Then said Jeroboam to his wifeArise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam,and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;
2 E disse Jeroboão à sua esposa: Levanta-te, rogo-te, e disfarça-te, para que não sejas reconhecida como a esposa de Jeroboão; e vai-te a Siló; eis que ali estará Aías, o profeta, o qual me contou que eu deveria ser rei sobre este povo.
3 and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him,he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.
3 E leva contigo dez pães, e bolos secos, e um cântaro de mel, e vai-te até ele; ele te contará o que sucederá à criança.
4 And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah,now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.
4 E a esposa de Jeroboão assim o fez, e se levantou e se foi até Siló, e chegou à casa de Aías. Porém, Aías não conseguia enxergar; porque os seus olhos estavam escurecidos em função da sua idade.
5 But, Yahweh, had said unto AhijahLo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her,though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.
5 E o SENHOR disse a Aías: Eis que a esposa de Jeroboão vem te consultar sobre o seu filho; porquanto ele está enfermo; assim e assim tu dirás a ela; porque será, quando ela entrar, que fingirá ser uma outra mulher.
6 So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he saidCome in, thou wife of Jeroboam,wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?
6 E foi assim, quando Aías ouviu o som dos seus pés, enquanto ela entrava pela porta, que ele disse: Entra, tu, esposa de Jeroboão; por que finges ser outra pessoa? Porque sou enviado a ti com notícias pesadas.
7 Go, say to JeroboamThus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people,and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;
7 Vai e diz a Jeroboão: Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Porquanto te exaltei dentre o povo, e fiz de ti príncipe sobre o meu povo Israel,
8 and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee,and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;
8 e rasguei o reino da casa de Davi, e o dei a ti; tu, porém, não tens sido como o meu servo Davi, que guardava os meus mandamentos, e que me seguia de todo o seu coração, para fazer somente aquilo que era reto aos meus olhos;
9 but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee,and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,
9 mas tens feito o mal sobre tudo o que esteve diante de ti; porque tens ido e feito para ti outros deuses, e imagens derretidas, para me provocar à ira, e tens me lançado nas tuas costas.
10 therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel,and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:
10 Portanto, eis que trarei o mal sobre a casa de Jeroboão, e cortarei de Jeroboão aquele que mija contra a parede, tanto o escravo como o livre em Israel, e lançarei fora o remanescente da casa de Jeroboão, semelhante ao homem que retira o esterco, até que todo se acabe.
11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat,For, Yahweh, hath spoken.
11 Aquele que morrer de Jeroboão, na cidade, os cães comerão; e aquele que morrer no campo, as aves do céu comerão; porquanto o SENHOR o falou.
12 Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house,as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.
12 Levanta tu, portanto, vai-te à tua própria casa; e quando o teu pé entrar na cidade, a criança há de morrer.
13 Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place,because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
13 E todo Israel pranteará por ele, e o sepultará; pois de Jeroboão, somente ele virá ao sepulcro, porque nele encontrou-se algo bom para com o SENHOR Deus de Israel da casa de Jeroboão.
14 Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?
14 Além disso, o SENHOR lhe levantará um rei sobre Israel, que cortará a casa de Jeroboão naquele dia; que digo eu? Há de ser já!
15 Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates),because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:
15 Porque o SENHOR ferirá Israel, como um junco é sacudido na água, e ele arrancará Israel desta boa terra, a qual ele deu aos seus pais e os espalhará além do rio, porque eles fizeram os seus bosques, provocando o SENHOR à ira.
16 That he may deliver up Israel,on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.
16 E ele desistirá de Israel por causa dos pecados de Jeroboão, que pecou e que fez Israel pecar.
17 Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah,as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.
17 E a esposa de Jeroboão se levantou, e partiu, e chegou a Tirza; e quando ela chegou à soleira da porta, a criança morreu;
18 And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him,according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.
18 e eles a sepultaram; e todo o Israel pranteou por ela, segundo a palavra do SENHOR, a qual ele falou pela mão do seu servo Aías, o profeta.
19 Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
19 E o restante dos atos de Jeroboão, como ele guerreou, e como ele reinou, eis que estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel.
20 And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years,and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.
20 E os dias nos quais Jeroboão reinou foram vinte e dois anos; e ele dormiu com os seus pais, e Nadabe, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
21 And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah,forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mothers name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
21 E Roboão, o filho de Salomão, reinou em Judá. Roboão tinha quarenta e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezessete anos em Jerusalém, a cidade que o SENHOR escolheu dentre todas as tribos de Israel, para ali colocar o seu nome. E o nome da sua mãe era Naamá, uma amonita.
22 And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh,and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.
22 E Judá fez o mal à vista do SENHOR, e eles o provocaram ciúmes com os pecados que haviam cometido, acima de todos os que os seus pais haviam feito.
23 And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems,upon every high hill, and under every green tree.
23 Porque eles também construíram lugares altos, e imagens, e bosques, em todo outeiro elevado, e debaixo de toda árvore verde.
24 Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land,they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
24 E havia também sodomitas na terra; e eles faziam de acordo com todas as abominações das nações que o SENHOR expulsou de diante dos filhos de Israel.
25 And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;
25 E sucedeu no quinto ano do rei Roboão, que Sisaque, rei do Egito, subiu contra Jerusalém;
26 and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away,and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.
26 e ele tomou os tesouros da casa do SENHOR, e os tesouros da casa do rei; ele tomou tudo; e ele tomou todos os escudos de ouro que Salomão havia feito.
27 So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze,and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.
27 E o rei Roboão fez, no seu lugar, escudos de bronze, e os entregou nas mãos do chefe da guarda, a qual guardava a porta da casa do rei.
28 And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.
28 E assim foi, quando o rei entrou na casa do SENHOR, que a guarda os ergueu, e os trouxe de volta para a câmara da guarda.
29 Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
29 Ora, o restante dos atos de Roboão, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá?
30 And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.
30 E houve guerra entre Roboão e Jeroboão durante todos os seus dias.
31 So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess,and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
31 E Roboão dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado com os seus pais na cidade de Davi. E o nome da sua mãe era Naamá, uma amonita. E Abias, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
