1 At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.
1 Naquele tempo, adoeceu Abias, filho de Jeroboão.
2 Then said Jeroboam to his wifeArise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam,and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;
2 Disse este a sua mulher: Dispõe-te, agora, e disfarça-te, para que não conheçam que és mulher de Jeroboão; e vai a Siló. Eis que lá está o profeta Aías, o qual a meu respeito disse que eu seria rei sobre este povo.
3 and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him,he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.
3 Leva contigo dez pães, bolos e uma botija de mel e vai ter com ele; ele te dirá o que há de suceder a este menino.
4 And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah,now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.
4 A mulher de Jeroboão assim o fez; levantou-se, foi a Siló e entrou na casa de Aías; Aías já não podia ver, porque os seus olhos já se tinham escurecido, por causa da sua velhice.
5 But, Yahweh, had said unto AhijahLo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her,though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.
5 Porém o Senhor disse a Aías: Eis que a mulher de Jeroboão vem consultar-te sobre seu filho, que está doente. Assim e assim lhe falarás, porque, ao entrar, fingirá ser outra.
6 So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he saidCome in, thou wife of Jeroboam,wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?
6 Ouvindo Aías o ruído de seus pés, quando ela entrava pela porta, disse: Entra, mulher de Jeroboão; por que finges assim? Pois estou encarregado de te dizer duras novas.
7 Go, say to JeroboamThus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people,and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;
7 Vai e dize a Jeroboão: Assim diz o Senhor , Deus de Israel: Porquanto te levantei do meio do povo, e te fiz príncipe sobre o meu povo de Israel,
8 and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee,and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;
8 e tirei o reino da casa de Davi, e to entreguei, e tu não foste como Davi, meu servo, que guardou os meus mandamentos e andou após mim de todo o seu coração, para fazer somente o que parecia reto aos meus olhos;
9 but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee,and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,
9 antes, fizeste o mal, pior do que todos os que foram antes de ti, e fizeste outros deuses e imagens de fundição, para provocar-me à ira, e me viraste as costas;
10 therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel,and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:
10 portanto, eis que trarei o mal sobre a casa de Jeroboão, e eliminarei de Jeroboão todo e qualquer do sexo masculino, tanto o escravo como o livre, e lançarei fora os descendentes da casa de Jeroboão, como se lança fora o esterco, até que, de todo, ela se acabe.
11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat,For, Yahweh, hath spoken.
11 Quem morrer a Jeroboão na cidade, os cães o comerão, e o que morrer no campo aberto, as aves do céu o comerão, porque o Senhor o disse.
12 Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house,as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.
12 Tu, pois, dispõe-te e vai para tua casa; quando puseres os pés na cidade, o menino morrerá.
13 Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place,because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
13 Todo o Israel o pranteará e o sepultará; porque de Jeroboão só este dará entrada em sepultura, porquanto se achou nele coisa boa para com o Senhor , Deus de Israel, em casa de Jeroboão.
14 Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?
14 O Senhor , porém, suscitará para si um rei sobre Israel, que eliminará, no seu dia, a casa de Jeroboão. Que digo eu? Há de ser já.
15 Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates),because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:
15 Também o Senhor ferirá a Israel para que se agite como a cana se agita nas águas; arrancará a Israel desta boa terra que dera a seus pais e o espalhará para além do Eufrates, porquanto fez os seus postes-ídolos, provocando o Senhor à ira.
16 That he may deliver up Israel,on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.
16 Abandonará a Israel por causa dos pecados que Jeroboão cometeu e pelos que fez Israel cometer.
17 Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah,as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.
17 Então, a mulher de Jeroboão se levantou, foi e chegou a Tirza; chegando ela ao limiar da casa, morreu o menino.
18 And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him,according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.
18 Sepultaram-no, e todo o Israel o pranteou, segundo a palavra do Senhor , por intermédio do profeta Aías, seu servo.
19 Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
19 Quanto aos mais atos de Jeroboão, como guerreou e como reinou, eis que estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel.
20 And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years,and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.
20 Foi de vinte e dois anos o tempo que reinou Jeroboão; e descansou com seus pais; e Nadabe, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
21 And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah,forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mothers name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
21 Roboão, filho de Salomão, reinou em Judá; de quarenta e um anos de idade era Roboão quando começou a reinar e reinou dezessete anos em Jerusalém, na cidade que o Senhor escolhera de todas as tribos de Israel, para estabelecer ali o seu nome. Naamá era o nome de sua mãe, amonita.
22 And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh,and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.
22 Fez Judá o que era mau perante o Senhor ; e, com os pecados que cometeu, o provocou a zelo, mais do que fizeram os seus pais.
23 And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems,upon every high hill, and under every green tree.
23 Porque também os de Judá edificaram altos, estátuas, colunas e postes-ídolos no alto de todos os elevados outeiros e debaixo de todas as árvores verdes.
24 Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land,they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
24 Havia também na terra prostitutos cultuais; fizeram segundo todas as coisas abomináveis das nações que o Senhor expulsara de diante dos filhos de Israel.
25 And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;
25 No quinto ano do rei Roboão, Sisaque, rei do Egito, subiu contra Jerusalém
26 and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away,and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.
26 e tomou os tesouros da Casa do Senhor e os tesouros da casa do rei; tomou tudo. Também levou todos os escudos de ouro que Salomão tinha feito.
27 So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze,and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.
27 Em lugar destes, fez o rei Roboão escudos de bronze e os entregou nas mãos dos capitães da guarda, que guardavam a porta da casa do rei.
28 And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.
28 Toda vez que o rei entrava na Casa do Senhor , os da guarda usavam os escudos e tornavam a trazê-los para a câmara da guarda.
29 Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
29 Quanto aos mais dos atos de Roboão e a tudo quanto fez, porventura, não estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá?
30 And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.
30 Houve guerra entre Roboão e Jeroboão todos os seus dias.
31 So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess,and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
31 Roboão descansou com seus pais e com eles foi sepultado na Cidade de Davi. Naamá era o nome de sua mãe, amonita; e Abias, filho de Roboão, reinou em seu lugar.
