¹ Now, the sons of Israelas to the number of them, the ancestral chiefsand rulers of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who waited upon the king as to any matter of the courses, who came in and went out month by month, for all the months of the year, in each course, were twenty-four thousand.

¹ Estes são os filhos de Israel segundo o seu número, os chefes dos pais, e os capitães dos milhares e das centenas, com os seus oficiais, que serviam ao rei em todos os negócios das turmas que entravam e saíam de mês em mês, em todos os meses do ano; cada turma de vinte e quatro mil.

⁵ The ruler of the third host, for the third month, was Benaiah, son of Jehoiada the priesta chief,and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

¹⁰ The seventh, for the seventh month, was Helez the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim,and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

¹¹ The eighth, for the eighth month, was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites,and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

¹² The ninth, for the ninth month, was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites,and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

¹⁵ The twelfth, for the twelfth month, was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel,and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.

¹⁶ Furthermore, over the tribes of Israel, the chief ruler of the Reubenites, was Eliezer, son of Zichri. Of the Simeonites, Shephatiah, son of Maacah.

¹⁷ Of Levi, Hashabiah, son of Kemuel. Of Aaron, Zadok.

²⁰ Of the sons of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Azaziah. Of the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel, son of Pedaiah.

²⁰ Sobre os filhos de Efraim, Oséias, filho de Azazias; sobre a meia tribo de Manassés, Joel, filho de Pedaías;

²¹ Of the half of Manasseh, in Gilead, Iddo, son of Zechariah. Of Benjamin, Jaasiel, son of Abner.

²¹ Sobre a outra meia tribo de Manassés em Gileade, Ido, filho de Zacarias; sobre Benjamim, Jaasiel, filho de Abner;

²² Of Dan, Azarel, son of Jeroham. These, were the rulers of the tribes of Israel.

²³ But David took not the number of them, from twenty years old, and under,because Yahweh had said, he would multiply Israel like the stars of the heavens.

²⁴ Joab son of Zeruiah, began to number, but finished not, when there arose, on this account, indignation against Israel,neither did the number come up into the account of the chronicles of King David.

²⁴ Joabe, filho de Zeruia, tinha começado a numerá-los, porém não acabou; porquanto viera por isso grande ira sobre Israel; assim o número não se pôs no registro das crônicas do rei Davi.

²⁵ And, over the treasuries of the king, was Azmaveth, son of Adiel. And, over the treasuries in the fields, in the cities, in the villages and in the castles, was Jonathan, son of Uzziah;

²⁵ E sobre os tesouros do rei estava Azmavete, filho de Adiel; e sobre os tesouros dos campos, das cidades, e das aldeias, e das torres, Jônatas, filho de Uzias.

²⁶ And, over the workers of the field, for the tillage of the ground, was Ezri, son of Chelub.

²⁶ E sobre os que faziam a obra do campo, na lavoura da terra, Ezri, filho de Quelube.

²⁷ And, over the vineyards, was Shimei, the Ramathite. And, over that which was in the vineyards, for the treasuries of wine, was Zabdi, the Shiphmite.

²⁷ E sobre as vinhas, Simei, o ramatita; porém sobre o que das vides entrava nas adegas do vinho, Zabdi, o sifmita.

²⁸ And, over the olive-trees and the sycamore-trees that were in the lowland, was Baal-hanan the Gederite. And, over the treasuries of oil, was Joash.

²⁸ E sobre os olivais e sicômoros que havia nas campinas, Baal-Hanã, o gederita; porém Joás sobre os armazéns do azeite.

²⁹ And, over the herds that pastured in Sharon, was Shitrai, the Sharonite. And, over the herds in the vales, Shaphat, son of Adlai.

²⁹ E sobre os gados que pastavam em Sarom, Sitrai, o saronita; porém, sobre os gados dos vales, Safate, filho de Adlai.

³⁰ And, over the camels, was Obil, the Ishmaelite. And, over the asses, was Jehdeyahu the Meronothite.

³⁰ E sobre os camelos, Obil, o ismaelita; e sobre as jumentas, Jedias, o meronotita.

³¹ And, over the flocks, was Jaziz, the Hagrite. All these, were rulers over the possessions that belonged to King David.

³¹ E sobre o gado miúdo, Jaziz, o hagrita; todos esses eram administradores da fazenda que tinha o rei Davi.

³² And, Jonathan the relative of David, was a counsellor, a man of understanding and a scribe, was he. And, Jehiel son of Hachmoni, was with the sons of the king.

³² E Jônatas, tio de Davi, era do conselho, homem entendido, e também escriba; e Jeiel, filho de Hacmoni, estava com os filhos do rei.

³³ And, Ahitophel, was counsellor to the king. And, Hushai the Archite, was the companion of the king.

³³ E Aitofel era do conselho do rei; e Husai, o arquita, amigo do rei.

³⁴ And, after Ahitophel, was Jehoiada son of Benaiahand Abiathar. And, the captain of the kings army, was Joab.

³⁴ E depois de Aitofel, Joiada, filho de Benaia, e Abiatar; porém Joabe era o general do exército do rei.
