5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Jeꞌ woꞌ chic, cu̱cꞌ take reꞌ no̱j woꞌ elok wach i jenaj chic kꞌoric wilic chipam i riCꞌuhbal i Dios reꞌ rikꞌor chi jeꞌ wili:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.

Reꞌ sakom reꞌreꞌ, reꞌ woꞌ reꞌ nsakomonic pa̱m acapew-bal tak reh chi jeꞌ reꞌ maꞌ eta chic ticꞌacharic tak chipam rikꞌekomil acapew-bal tak ricꞌam cho i cꞌahbil laj cꞌacharic xaꞌn tak cho.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;

10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.

11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Wi jeꞌ reꞌ xaꞌn tak, reꞌ take reꞌ naquikꞌorom woꞌ chi xa coric woꞌ naꞌn tak nachalok i Dios chi rikꞌataric kꞌoric chi quina̱ chiꞌnchel i tinamit.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Chaj waꞌric nanipahkaj aweh tak chi jeꞌ reꞌ? Jeꞌ reꞌ nipahkaj ruꞌum chi reꞌ Dios ra̱j chi na̱banam tak i wili: Chi reꞌ hat-tak ru̱cꞌ ribanaric i holohic eh jeꞌ woꞌ chi ru̱cꞌ i coric laj cꞌacharic, chatzꞌap tak quichi̱ꞌ take tinamit reꞌ maꞌ nquirak ta chiri̱j chaj bih nquikꞌor ruꞌum quimemil.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Jeꞌ reꞌ kꞌuruꞌ ticꞌacharok tak pan jenaj holohic laj cꞌacharic ruꞌum chi tehlic chic awi̱j tak, xa reꞌ laꞌ maꞌ nchel nacapaj tak chi ruꞌum chi tehlic chic awi̱j tak ra̱j rikꞌorom chi yeꞌo̱j kꞌab aweh tak chi ribanaric i maꞌ holohic ta laj bano̱j. Maꞌxta! Ma̱capaj tak chi jeꞌ reꞌ, reꞌ laꞌ chaꞌn tak ticꞌacharok tak chi hat-tak raj camanom i Dios.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.

17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Yuꞌna aweh hat-tak jeꞌ ru̱cꞌ wilca̱t tak chi mosahic chiwach jenoꞌ ajabe̱s ehcham camanic, nikꞌor chi tiniminok tak chiwach eh wilic ok riwaꞌric chawach tak, reꞌ cok ruꞌ maꞌ xa chi quiwach ta take ajabe̱s holohic quinoꞌjbal eh chꞌublic ti wach quicꞌux chi quetelenic na̱banam tak jeꞌ reꞌ, jeꞌ laꞌ woꞌ reꞌ cu̱cꞌ take kꞌe̱ꞌ joskꞌ laj ajabe̱s.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Nikꞌor chi jeꞌ reꞌ maj reꞌ ricuseꞌsbal i Dios naricꞌulum i cꞌacharel reꞌ ricana̱ꞌ ri̱b chi ricꞌul i tiꞌcꞌaxic to̱b ta pa ra̱mna rehtꞌalim cho chi chiwach i Dios maꞌxta jenoꞌ rimahc reꞌ ricꞌul chi reh chi ericꞌul i tiꞌcꞌaxic reꞌreꞌ.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.

20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Jeꞌ reꞌ kꞌuruꞌ to̱b ta nchel enacꞌul tak i tiꞌcꞌaxic, reꞌ hat-tak chaꞌn tak i coric maj til reꞌ wili riwi̱ꞌ chi xatyukꞌunjic tak chi rinimjic i Jesus reꞌ Pahbamaj chi Kꞌatal Kꞌoric. Reꞌreꞌ ruꞌum chi xiban i coric, xicꞌul i tiꞌcꞌaxic eh ru̱cꞌ reꞌreꞌ xicꞌuhtaj aweh tak chaj bih ra̱j chi na̱banam tak. Chaꞌn aj tak kꞌuruꞌ jeꞌ ricab xiban ruꞌ
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 maj reꞌreꞌ maꞌ xmahcanic ta eh maꞌ jancꞌal ta woꞌ xbirmijic jenoꞌ kꞌoric ru̱cꞌ chi xa jotꞌbal ta nak quicapew-bal take cꞌacharel xiban.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Jeꞌ woꞌ chic naxicꞌul take tzꞌujuric cuꞌum take quixowonic wach, reꞌreꞌ maꞌ xicꞌuꞌlej ta woꞌ take ru̱cꞌ tzꞌuju̱j on naxicꞌul take tiꞌcꞌaxic cu̱cꞌ take cꞌacharel, maꞌ xicapaj ta woꞌ ribanjic rijelow-bal queh take xibanic reh, reꞌ laꞌ xiban xikꞌahsaj pan kꞌab i Dios reꞌ nchꞌukbic kꞌoric pa ricorquilal.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Jeꞌ woꞌ ruꞌum take tiꞌcꞌaxic xicꞌul, reꞌ Jesus xiban chi xwihꞌic chic i sukquil cꞌuxlis pan awa̱mna tak. Jeꞌ reꞌ nikꞌor maj reꞌreꞌ naxiyew ri̱b chi quimic ar wach curu̱s, xiban chi reꞌ hat-tak xcuyuric amahc tak. Maꞌ xa ta reꞌreꞌ, yuꞌna jeꞌ ricab nanquimic jenoꞌ cꞌacharel ncahnic chi maꞌ nmahcanic ta chic, jeꞌ woꞌ reꞌ hat-tak xyeꞌeric aweh tak ruꞌum Jesus chi eticꞌacharic tak chi maꞌ cꞌahchiꞌ ta abanam tak i mahc, reꞌ laꞌ chic i coric laj bano̱j cꞌahchiꞌ abanam tak.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.

25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
