1 Jange hye̱hu̱ nꞌagitho gatho ya tsꞌoki, ya nhemhñö, nöꞌö gi yotꞌa ri hmihu̱, ya hyo̱kte, ne ya ꞌyonga ꞌbede.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Xa gi hyoñhu̱ ngu nꞌar tsi tꞌu̱lo bötsi ar ꞌba di ꞌñe mhetsꞌi hinte xi nthöntsꞌi. Njapꞌu̱ gi tehu̱ xiñho ne gi pe̱ꞌsu̱ ar mpo̱ho̱.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 ꞌYo̱thu̱ njapꞌu̱ ngetho xka pöthwu̱ ár nhwëki ar tsi Hmu.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Kwathu̱ gi hyoñhu̱ ar tsi Hmu Hesukristo, togo ngu nꞌar do pe̱ꞌsa ar te. Mödi nunar donu̱ bi zanda nuꞌu̱ togo mi ho̱ ar ngu, ha Jö go bi hyandi ngu nꞌar do xi thahni ne nza̱tho.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Jange enga har Tꞌofo:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Jange nuꞌahu̱ xka ñꞌemu̱ihu̱, gi hanthu̱ nza̱thoꞌö. Ha nuꞌu̱ togo hinxi ñꞌemu̱i, ngu enga har Tꞌofo:
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Ne enö nꞌehe:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Ha nuꞌahu̱ yá bötsiꞌihu̱ Jö xi hwañꞌahu̱, yá möjöꞌihu̱ ar ndö mhetsꞌi. Go geꞌahu̱ ár hnini Jö ꞌbu̱ xintꞌaxi, ne ár me̱tiꞌihu̱ꞌö. Gese̱ꞌö bi hwañꞌahu̱ gi xifu̱ maꞌra tengu ár tsꞌe̱di ne ár nsunda nöꞌö togo bi zoꞌahu̱ ngi po̱ñhu̱ har ꞌbe̱xui, ne gi ꞌbu̱hu̱pya har hoga hyatsꞌi xa nza̱tho.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Mahamꞌu̱ hinge ngar hniniꞌihu̱ Jö, ha nupya hö, yá hniniꞌihu̱ꞌö. Mahamꞌu̱ hinge ngi pe̱ꞌsfu̱ ár nhwëkiꞌö, ha nupya hö, xka hñömfu̱ ár nhwëki.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Tsi kuhu̱, di zoꞌahu̱ ngu ya nzo̱ho̱ ne ngu ya neꞌñu. Di xiꞌahu̱ gi hye̱hu̱ nuya te gatho ne ri ndoꞌyohu̱, gehyu̱ nto̱xkwi nöꞌö ne ri mu̱ihu̱.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 ꞌBu̱hu̱ nꞌar hogamꞌu̱i madeda nuꞌu̱ togo hinxi jamfi, mödi ꞌyompꞌa ri ꞌbedehu̱ eñꞌu̱ xi ntsꞌotho nöꞌö gi o̱thu̱. Ne xta epꞌu̱ ar tsi Hmu Hesukristo, ma da nsundabi Jö xta xo yá da̱, da böꞌu̱ mar ñho nöꞌö ngi o̱thu̱.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Ngetho gi jamfihu̱ ar tsi Hmu, ꞌyo̱thu̱ gatho nuꞌu̱ togo pe̱ꞌsa nꞌar nsu. ꞌYo̱thu̱ ar ndö xi tꞌexa mañö,

14 ne gatho yá ma̱xte, ngetho xi mꞌe̱hni da umbya mfe̱i ya tsꞌokte, ne da ꞌñeꞌspa yá nsu nuꞌu̱ o̱tꞌa xiñho.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Ne Jö gi ꞌyo̱thu̱ xiñho, ne njapꞌu̱ gi kothwu̱ yá ne nuꞌu̱ ya jöꞌi hingi numañho nöꞌö di pe̱hu̱.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 ꞌBu̱hu̱ wande hinto suꞌahu̱, ho̱nse̱ hingi jahu̱ gi ne gi ꞌyo̱thu̱ nöꞌö hingi ho. ꞌYohu̱ ngu yá ꞌbe̱goꞌihu̱ ar tsi Dada.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 ꞌÑeꞌsfu̱ ár nsu gatho. Möhu̱ ya tsi ku. Tsufu̱ Jö. ꞌÑeꞌsfu̱ ár nsu ar ndö nꞌehe.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 ꞌBe̱gohu̱, pe̱ꞌsu̱ nꞌar hogamu̱i gi ꞌyo̱thu̱ ri hmuhu̱. Hinge ho̱nse̱ nuꞌu̱ togo ya hogajöꞌi, ꞌyo̱thu̱ nuꞌu̱ xi ñhembi gi tse̱thu̱ nꞌehe.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Jö handa xiñho nuꞌu̱ tho ya mfe̱i hindi ꞌñepabi, nuya thogi tse̱ti, o̱tꞌe da gohwi xiñho Jö.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Tema ñho gi ju̱ju̱ nuꞌmu̱ gi tse̱thu̱ ar mfe̱i ngetho xka ntsꞌoju̱. Ha nuꞌmu̱ gi thohu̱ ar mfe̱i ngetho gi o̱thu̱ nöꞌö xiñho, njapꞌu̱ hö, hantꞌahu̱ xiñho Jö.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Xi tsꞌoñꞌahu̱ gi tse̱thu̱; ngetho ar tsi Hmu Hesukristo go bi thoꞌö ya thogi ma nga thohu̱hmö, ne njapꞌu̱ bi utkagihu̱ ár mꞌu̱i ga te̱ñhu̱.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Nöꞌö hinte ma tsꞌoki bi ꞌyo̱tꞌe, ne hinte mar nhemhñö bi bo̱nga hár ne.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Númꞌu̱ mi tsꞌani, himi koꞌsa ar ntsꞌani. Númꞌu̱ mi tho ya u̱gi, hinge mi xipabi nda njapabipꞌu̱ nꞌehe. Mi tsokwa gatho hár ꞌye̱ nöꞌö togo o̱tꞌa ar hoga tsꞌu̱tꞌwi.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Gese̱ bi hñöska ma tsꞌokihu̱ hár ndoꞌyo núꞌmu̱ mi tsꞌu̱ta har pontꞌi, ne njapꞌu̱ nuꞌu̱ di ꞌbu̱hu̱, hinte tsa̱ te da jaju̱ ar tsꞌoki. Nupya ga ꞌbu̱hu̱ ga o̱thu̱ nöꞌö xiñho. Bi tho ar u̱giꞌö, ne njapꞌu̱ gi pe̱ꞌsu̱ ar nzaki.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Ngetho ngi ñhe̱hwihu̱ ꞌra ya tsi de̱ti xki mfontꞌi, ha nupya xka penju̱ xka tsu̱hu̱ ar ma̱ꞌyo suꞌa ri tehu̱.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
