1 Jehovah of Hosts proclaims: »The day is coming when all arrogant and evil people will burn like stubble. On that day they will burn up and there will be nothing left of them, either root or bough.
1 Assim diz o S enhor dos Exércitos: “O dia do julgamento se aproxima e arde como uma fornalha. Naquele dia, serão queimados como palha os arrogantes e os perversos. Serão consumidos, desde as raízes até os ramos.
2 »The sun of righteousness with its healing will shine on you who respect my name and obey me. You will be free and paw the ground like fat calves.«
2 “Mas, para vocês que temem meu nome, o sol da justiça se levantará, trazendo cura em suas asas. E vocês sairão e saltarão de alegria, como bezerros soltos no pasto.
3 »When I act you will tread down the wicked. They will be like dust under your feet,« Jehovah of Hosts said.
3 No dia em que eu agir, vocês pisarão sobre os perversos como se eles fossem pó sob os seus pés”, diz o S enhor dos Exércitos.
4 »You should remember the Law of Moses my servant. I commanded the statutes and ordinances regulations and judgments to him at Horeb for all Israel.
4 “Lembrem-se de obedecer à lei de Moisés, meu servo, a todos os decretos e estatutos que dei a todo o Israel no monte Sinai.
5 »Behold! I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible Day of Jehovah comes.

6 »He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers and bring them together again before I come and strike the earth with destruction a curse.«
6 Ele fará que o coração dos pais volte para seus filhos e o coração dos filhos volte para seus pais. Do contrário, eu virei e castigarei a terra com maldição.”
