1 Woe to the land of whirring wings which lies beyond the rivers of Ethiopia Cush.
1 Ai da terra sombreada pelas asas, a qual está além dos rios da Etiópia.
2 It sends messengers by sea in boats made of reeds that skim over the surface of the water. »Go, swift messengers, to a tall and smooth-skinned people, a people who are feared far and near, a strong and aggressive nation, whose land is divided by rivers.«
2 Que envia embaixadores pelo mar, até em barcos de junco sobre as águas, dizendo: Ide, vós, rápidos mensageiros, a uma nação dispersa e de pele brilhante, a um povo terrível desde o seu início até aqui. Uma nação espalhada em pequenos grupos e pisoteada, cuja terra os rios têm saqueado!
3 Look when someone raises a flag on the mountains. Listen when someone blows a ram's horn, all you inhabitants of the world, you who live on the earth.
3 Todos vós habitantes do mundo e moradores sobre a terra, vede quando ele levantar uma bandeira sobre os montes. E quando ele soprar uma trombeta, ouvi.
4 Jehovah says this to me: »I will be still and watch from my dwelling place. My presence will be like scorching heat in the sunshine, like heavy dew in the heat of the harvest.
4 Pois, então, o SENHOR me disse: Eu estarei quieto, e ponderarei a respeito em minha habitação, como um luzente calor sobre as ervas, e como uma nuvem de orvalho no calor da colheita.
5 »Before the harvest, when blossoms are gone and grapes are ripening from blossoms, he will cut off the shoots with pruning shears and chop off and take away the spreading branches.
5 Porque antes da colheita, quando o broto está perfeito e quando a uva amarga está amadurecendo na flor, ele tanto cortará os brotos com foices, quanto removerá e derrubará os galhos.
6 They will all be left for the birds of prey on the mountains and the wild animals. The birds of prey will feed on them in the summer. All the wild animals on earth will feed on them in the winter.
6 Eles serão deixados juntos, para as aves dos montes e para os animais da terra, e as aves passarão o verão sobre eles e todos os animais da terra passarão o inverno sobre eles.
7 »At that time gifts will be brought to Jehovah of Hosts from a tall and smooth-skinned people, a people who are feared far and near. It will be a strong and aggressive nation, whose land is divided by rivers. They will be brought to Mount Zion, the place where the name of Jehovah of Hosts is.«
7 Naquele tempo será trazido o presente para o SENHOR dos Exércitos, de um povo disperso e de pele brilhante, e de um povo terrível desde o seu início até aqui. Uma nação espalhada em pequenos grupos e pisada, cuja terra os rios têm saqueado, para o lugar do nome do SENHOR dos Exércitos, o monte Sião.
