1 Surely in a night Ar of Moab is devastated and ruined. Certainly in a night Kir of Moab is devastated and ruined.
1 Sentença contra Moabe. Certamente, numa noite foi assolada Ar de Moabe e ela está destruída; certamente, numa noite foi assolada Quir de Moabe e ela está destruída.
2 They have gone up to the temple and to Dibon, to the high places to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and Medeba. Everyone's head is bald and every beard is cut off.
2 Sobe-se ao templo e a Dibom, aos altos, para chorar; nos montes Nebo e Medeba, lamenta Moabe; todas as cabeças se tornam calvas, e toda barba é rapada.
3 They have dress themselves with sackcloth in their streets. On their housetops and in their squares everyone is wailing, taken down with tears.
3 Cingem-se de panos de saco nas suas ruas; nos seus terraços e nas suas praças, andam todos uivando e choram abundantemente.
4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out. Their voice is heard all the way to Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud and tremble with fear.
4 Tanto Hesbom como Eleale andam gritando; até Jaza se ouve a sua voz; por isso, os armados de Moabe clamam; a sua alma treme dentro dele.
5 My heart cries out for Moab! The people have fled to the town of Zoar, and to Eglath Shelishiyah. Some climb the road to Luhith. They weep as they go. Some escape to Horonaim, grieving loudly.
5 O meu coração clama por causa de Moabe, cujos fugitivos vão até Zoar, novilha de três anos; vão chorando pela subida de Luíte e no caminho de Horonaim levantam grito de desespero;
6 The Brook of Nimrim is dry, the grass beside it has withered, and nothing green is left.
6 porque as águas de Ninrim desaparecem; seca-se o pasto, acaba-se a erva, e já não há verdura alguma,
7 The people go across the Valley of Willows, trying to escape with all their material possessions.
7 pelo que o que pouparam, o que ganharam e depositaram eles mesmos levam para além das torrentes dos salgueiros;
8 Everywhere at Moab's borders the sound of crying is heard. It is heard at the towns of Eglaim and Beerelim.
8 porque o pranto rodeia os limites de Moabe; até Eglaim chega o seu clamor, e ainda até Beer-Elim, o seu lamento;
9 Dimons waters are full of blood. I will bring still more upon Dimon, a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon those who remain in the land.
9 porque as águas de Dimom estão cheias de sangue; pois ainda acrescentarei a Dimom: leões contra aqueles que escaparem de Moabe e contra os restantes da terra.
