1 Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. Jehovah showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan,
1 Então Moisés subiu das campinas de Moabe ao monte Nebo, ao alto do monte Pisga, que está em frente de Jericó. E o Senhor lhe mostrou toda a terra de Gileade até Dã;
2 and all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah as far as the western sea,
2 e todo o Naftali, e a terra de Efraim e Manassés; e toda a terra de Judá até o mar ocidental;
3 and the Negev and the plain in the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.
3 e o Neguebe e a campina do vale de Jericó, a cidade das palmeiras, até a região de Zoar.
4 Jehovah said: »This is the land that I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying: I will give it to your descendants. I let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.«
4 E o Senhor disse a Moisés: — Esta é a terra que, sob juramento, prometi a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó, dizendo que a daria à descendência deles. Estou permitindo que você a veja com os seus próprios olhos, mas você não entrará nela.
5 Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah.
5 Assim Moisés, servo do Senhor , morreu ali, na terra de Moabe, segundo a palavra do Senhor .
6 He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor. No man knows his burial place to this day.
6 Este o sepultou num vale, na terra de Moabe, diante de Bete-Peor, mas até hoje ninguém sabe o lugar da sua sepultura.
7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated.
7 Moisés tinha cento e vinte anos quando morreu, mas os seus olhos não se haviam enfraquecido, e ele não havia perdido o vigor.
8 So the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
8 Os filhos de Israel prantearam Moisés durante trinta dias, nas campinas de Moabe; então se cumpriram os dias do pranto do luto por Moisés.
9 Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. The sons of Israel listened to him and did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
9 Josué, filho de Num, estava cheio do espírito de sabedoria, porque Moisés havia imposto as mãos sobre ele. Assim, os filhos de Israel lhe deram ouvidos e fizeram como o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés.
10 Since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom Jehovah knew face to face intimately,
10 Nunca mais se levantou em Israel um profeta como Moisés, com quem o Senhor tratava face a face.
11 for all the signs and wonders that Jehovah sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land,
11 Nunca houve ninguém que fizesse todos os sinais e maravilhas que, por ordem do Senhor , ele fez na terra do Egito, a Faraó, a todos os seus oficiais e a toda a sua terra.
12 and for all the great wonders and mighty power which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.
12 Nunca houve quem tivesse tanto poder e fizesse os grandes e terríveis feitos que Moisés realizou à vista de todo o Israel.
