New Simplified Bible (NSB) vs VC
1 It was the second year that Darius was king of Persia. Jehovah spoke through Haggai the prophet in the sixth month, on the first day of the month. The message was delivered to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and to the High Priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak.
1 No segundo ano do reinado de Dario, no primeiro dia do sexto mês, a palavra do Senhor foi dirigida pelo profeta Ageu ao governador de Judá, Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, e ao sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Josedec, nestes termos:
2 Jehovah of Hosts said to Haggai: »These people say that this is not the right time to rebuild the Temple.«
2 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: este povo diz: não é ainda chegado o momento de reconstruir a casa do Senhor.
3 Then came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet. He said:
3 E a palavra do Senhor foi transmitida pelo profeta Ageu:
4 »Is it time for you to dwell in your roofed and covered houses, while this house is desolate?«
4 É então o momento de habitardes em casas confortáveis, estando esta casa em ruínas? Eis o que declara o Senhor dos exércitos:
5 Jehovah of Hosts said: »Consider your ways.
5 considerai o que fazeis!
6 »You sow much and reap little. You eat but you do not have enough! You drink and yet you are not filled. You clothe yourselves but you are not warm. You earns wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.«
6 Semeais muito e recolheis pouco; comeis e não vos saciais; bebeis e não chegais a apagar a vossa sede; vestis, mas não vos aqueceis; e o operário guarda o seu salário em saco roto!
7 Then Jehovah said: »Consider your ways.
7 Assim fala o Senhor dos exércitos: refleti no que fazeis!
8 »Go up to the mountain and bring lumber, and rebuild my house. I will take pleasure in it and I will be glorified,« said Jehovah.
8 Subi a montanha, trazei madeira e reconstruí a minha casa; ela me será agradável e nela serei glorificado, - oráculo do Senhor.
9 »You looked for much harvest and you received little. When you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?« Said Jehovah of Hosts. »Because my house lies in waste, while each of you run to his house.
9 Esperastes uma abundante colheita e esta foi magra; dissipei com um sopro o que queríeis armazenar. Por quê? - oráculo do Senhor. Porque minha casa está em ruínas, enquanto cada um de vós só tem cuidado da sua.
10 »It is because of you that the sky above you withholds the dew, and the earth below withholds its produce.
10 Por isso o céu negou o seu orvalho e a terra, os seus frutos.
11 »I brought drought on the land and its hills, grain fields, vineyards, and olive orchards. Yes drought on every crop the ground produces, on people and animals, on everything you try to grow.«
11 Sequei terras e colinas, trigo, mosto e óleo, todo o fruto da terra, homens e animais, tudo o que produz o trabalho de vossas mãos.
12 Governor Zerubbabel and Joshua the High Priest and all the people who returned from the exile in Babylon did what Jehovah God told them to do. They were afraid and obeyed Jehovahs messenger, Haggai the prophet.
12 Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, com o sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Josedec, e todo o resto do povo, ouviram a voz do Senhor seu Deus, e as palavras que lhes dirigiu o profeta Ageu da parte do Senhor. E todo o povo temeu o Senhor.
13 Then Haggai gave Jehovahs message to the people: »I am with you!«
13 Ageu, enviado do Senhor, falou ao povo segundo o mandato que ele tinha recebido do Senhor: Estou convosco - oráculo do Senhor.
14 Jehovah inspired everyone to work on the Temple. That included: Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah; Joshua, the High Priest, and all the people who had returned from the exile. They worked on the house of Jehovah of Hosts, their God.
14 Então o Senhor inspirou coragem a Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, governador de Judá, e ao sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Josedec, bem como a todo o resto do povo: todos puseram-se a trabalhar na construção da casa do Senhor dos exércitos, seu Deus,
15 This was on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month of the second year that Darius was king.
15 aos vinte e quatro dias do sexto mês.
