1 Solomon gave orders to begin building the Temple for Jehovahs name and a royal palace for himself.
1 E Salomão determinou a construção de uma casa para o nome do SENHOR, e de uma casa para o seu reino.
2 He drafted seventy thousand men to carry heavy loads, eighty thousand to quarry stones in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred foremen.
2 E Salomão recrutou setenta mil homens para levar cargas, e oitenta mil para talharem no monte, e três mil e seiscentos para os supervisionar.
3 Solomon sent a message to King Hiram of Tyre: »Do business with me as you did with my father, King David, when you sold him cedar logs for building his palace.
3 E Salomão mandou dizer a Hirão, o rei de Tiro: Assim como tu fizeste com Davi, meu pai, e lhe enviaste cedros para lhe construir uma casa para nela habitar, assim também faze comigo.
4 »I am building a Temple to honor Jehovah my God. It will be a holy place where my people and I will worship him by burning incense of fragrant spices. We will present offerings of sacred bread to him continuously, and we will offer burnt offerings every morning and evening, as well as on Sabbaths, New Moon Festivals, and other holy days honoring Jehovah our God. He has commanded Israel to do this from generation to generation.
4 Eis que edifico uma casa para o nome do SENHOR meu Deus, para lhe consagrar, para queimar perante ele incenso aromático, e para a apresentação contínua do pão da proposição, para as ofertas queimadas da manhã e da tarde, nos shabats e nas luas novas, e nas festas solenes do SENHOR nosso Deus. Esta é uma ordenança eterna para Israel.
5 »I am determined to build a great Temple. This is because our God is greater than all other gods.
5 E a casa que eu edifico é grande; porque grande é o nosso Deus acima de todos os deuses.
6 »No one can really build a Temple for God. This is because even all the vastness of heaven cannot contain him. How then can I build a Temple that would be anything more than a place to burn incense to God?
6 Porém, quem é capaz de edificar-lhe uma casa, vendo que o céu e até o céu dos céus não podem contê-lo? Quem sou eu, então, para que lhe edifique uma casa, salvo para somente queimar sacrifício diante dele?
7 »Send me a man with skill in engraving, in working gold, silver, copper, and iron, and in making blue, purple, and red cloth. He will work with the craftsmen of Judah and Jerusalem whom my father David selected.
7 Envia-me, agora, portanto, um homem perito para trabalhar em ouro, e em prata, e em bronze, e em ferro, e em púrpura, e escarlate, e azul, e que possa ser hábil em entalhar com os peritos que estão comigo em Judá e em Jerusalém, aos quais Davi, o meu pai, proveu.
8 »I know how skillful your lumbermen are, so send me cedar, cypress, and juniper logs from Lebanon. I am ready to send my men to assist yours.
8 Envia-me também madeiras de cedro, cipreste e algumins, do Líbano; porque sei que os teus servos podem ser hábeis em cortar madeira no Líbano; e eis que os meus servos estarão com os teus servos,
9 »Prepare large quantities of timber, because this Temple I intend to build will be large and magnificent.
9 só para preparar madeira para mim em abundância; porquanto a casa que estou prestes a edificar será grande e maravilhosa.
10 »As provisions for your lumbermen, I will send you one hundred thousand bushels of wheat, one hundred thousand bushels of barley, one hundred and ten thousand gallons of wine, and one hundred and ten thousand gallons of olive oil.«
10 E, eis que darei aos teus servos, os talhadores que cortam madeira, vinte mil medidas de trigo batido, e vinte mil medidas de cevada, e vinte mil batos de vinho, e vinte mil batos de azeite.
11 King Hiram sent Solomon a letter in reply. He wrote: »Jehovah made you their king because he loves his people.«
11 Então, Hirão, o rei de Tiro, respondeu por escrito, o que enviou a Salomão: Porque o SENHOR tem amado o seu povo, ele te fez rei sobre eles.
12 »Praise Jehovah the God of Israel, Creator of heaven and earth! He has given King David a wise son, full of understanding and skill. He now plans to build a Temple for Jehovah and a palace for himself.
12 Além disso, Hirão também disse: Bendito seja o SENHOR Deus de Israel, que fez céu e terra, que tem dado ao rei Davi, um filho sábio, dotado de prudência e entendimento, para que pudesse edificar uma casa para o SENHOR, e uma casa para o seu reino.
13 »I am sending you a wise and skillful master metalworker named Huram Hiram-abi.
13 E, agora eu envio um perito, dotado de entendimento, Hirão o pai,
14 »He was the son of a woman from the tribe of Dan. His father is a native of Tyre. Huram knows how to work with gold, silver, copper, iron, stone, wood, purple, violet, and dark red cloth, and linen. He also knows how to make all kinds of engravings and follow any set of plans that will be given to him. He can work with your skilled workmen and the skilled workmen of His Majesty David, your father.
14 o filho de uma mulher das filhas de Dã, e o seu pai era um homem de Tiro, perito no trabalho em ouro, e em prata, em bronze, em ferro, em pedra, e em madeira, em púrpura, em azul e em linho fino, e em escarlate; também para entalhar toda sorte de entalhes, e para desvendar toda invenção que lhe for apresentada, com os teus peritos, e com os peritos do meu senhor Davi, teu pai.
15 »Your Majesty may now send the wheat, barley, olive oil, and wine he promised the workers.
15 Agora, portanto, o trigo e a cevada, o azeite, e o vinho, dos quais o meu senhor falou, que ele os envie aos seus servos;
16 »We will cut all the trees for lumber you need in Lebanon. Then we will make rafts out of it and send them to you in Joppa by sea. You can take it from there to Jerusalem.«
16 e nós cortaremos madeira do Líbano, o tanto quanto precisares; e a levaremos a ti em jangadas pelo mar até Jope; e tu as farás subir até Jerusalém.
17 Solomon counted all the men who were foreigners in the land of Israel, as his father David had counted them. Solomon counted one hundred and fifty-three thousand and six hundred foreigners.
17 E Salomão contou todos os estrangeiros que estavam na terra de Israel, segundo a contagem com a qual Davi, o seu pai, havia-lhes contado; e foram achados cento e cinquenta e três mil e seiscentos.
18 He directed seventy thousand of them carry heavy loads, eighty thousand of them quarry stone in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred of them supervise the work as foremen.
18 E ele designou setenta mil para serem carregadores de cargas, e oitenta mil para serem talhadores no monte, e três mil e seiscentos supervisores para colocar o povo ao trabalho.
