1 Solomon finished building Jehovahs Temple, the royal palace, and everything else he wanted to build.
1 E aconteceu que, quando Salomão acabou de edificar a Casa do Senhor , o palácio real e tudo o que tinha desejado e decidido fazer,
2 Jehovah came to him again in a vision just as he had done at Gibeon.
2 o Senhor tornou a aparecer-lhe, como tinha aparecido em Gibeão.
3 Jehovah said: »I have heard your prayers and your supplication you made. I have made this house holy. I put my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there at all times.
3 E o Senhor lhe disse: — Ouvi a sua oração e a súplica que você fez diante de mim. Santifiquei o templo que você edificou, a fim de pôr ali o meu nome para sempre; os meus olhos e o meu coração estarão ali todos os dias.
4 »As for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father did, uprightly and with a true heart, doing what I have given you orders to do, keeping my laws and my decisions;
4 Se você andar diante de mim como fez o seu pai Davi, com integridade de coração e com sinceridade, fazendo segundo tudo o que lhe ordenei e guardando os meus estatutos e os meus juízos,
5 »I will make the seat of your rule over Israel certain forever. I gave my word to David your father. I said: You will never be without a man to be king in Israel.
5 também confirmarei o trono de seu reino sobre Israel para sempre, como prometi a Davi, seu pai, dizendo: “Nunca lhe faltará sucessor ao trono de Israel.”
6 »But if you turn from my ways, you or your children, and do not keep my orders and my laws which I have put before you, but go and make yourselves servants to other gods and give them worship:
6 Porém, se vocês ou os seus filhos se afastarem de mim e não guardarem os meus mandamentos e os meus estatutos, que eu lhes prescrevi, e se servirem outros deuses e os adorarem,
7 »I will have Israel cut off from the land I gave them. I will abandon this house even though I have made it holy for myself. I will put you out of my sight. Israel will be a public example, and a word of shame among all peoples.
7 então eliminarei Israel da terra que lhe dei, e lançarei para longe da minha presença este templo, que santifiquei ao meu nome. E Israel virá a ser motivo de provérbio e de escárnio entre todos os povos.
8 This house will become a mass of broken walls. Everyone who goes by will be overcome with wonder at it and make whistling sounds. They will say: Why has Jehovah done this to this land and to this house?
8 E todo aquele que passar por este templo, agora tão exaltado, ficará espantado e zombará. E perguntarão: “Por que o Senhor fez isto com esta terra e este templo?”
9 »The answer will be: Because they turned away from Jehovah their God. The one who took their fathers out of the land of Egypt. They took for themselves other gods and gave them worship and became their servants: that is why Jehovah has sent this evil on them.«
9 E a resposta será: “Porque deixaram o Senhor , seu Deus, que tirou da terra do Egito os seus pais, e se apegaram a outros deuses, os adoraram e os serviram. Por isso o Senhor trouxe sobre eles todo este mal.”
10 It took twenty years for Solomon to build two houses, the Temple of Jehovah and the king's house.
10 Ao fim de vinte anos, Salomão havia terminado as duas casas, a Casa do Senhor e o palácio real.
11 Hiram, king of Tyre, had given Solomon cedar-trees and cypress-trees and gold, as much as he needed. King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the land of Galilee.
11 Como Hirão, rei de Tiro, havia trazido a Salomão madeira de cedro e de cipreste e ouro, tanto quanto ele precisava, este lhe deu vinte cidades na terra da Galileia.
12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the towns that Solomon had given him, he was not pleased with them.
12 Hirão de Tiro foi ver as cidades que Salomão lhe tinha dado, mas elas não lhe agradaram.
13 He said: »What sort of towns are these you have given me, my brother?« So they were named the land of Cabul, to this day.
13 Por isso disse a Salomão: — Que cidades são essas que você me deu, meu irmão? E lhes deram o nome de Terra de Cabul, que é usado até o dia de hoje.
14 Hiram sent the king a hundred and twenty talent of gold.
14 Hirão tinha enviado ao rei quatro toneladas de ouro.
15 King Solomon used forced labor to build the Temple and the palace, to fill in land on the east side of the city, and to build the city wall. He also used it to rebuild the cities of Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
15 A razão por que Salomão impôs o trabalho forçado é esta: construir a Casa do Senhor , o seu próprio palácio, a fortaleza de Milo e a muralha de Jerusalém, bem como Hazor, Megido e Gezer.
16 The king of Egypt attacked Gezer and captured it. They killed its inhabitants and set fire to the city. He gave it as a wedding present to his daughter when she married Solomon.
16 Porque Faraó, rei do Egito, havia atacado e conquistado Gezer, queimando a cidade e matando os cananeus que moravam nela, entregando-a como dote à sua filha, mulher de Salomão.
17 Solomon rebuilt it. Using his forced labor, Solomon also rebuilt Lower Beth Horon,
17 Assim, Salomão reconstruiu Gezer, Bete-Horom-de-Baixo,
18 Baalath, Tamar in the wilderness of Judah,
18 Baalate, Tadmor, no deserto daquela terra,
19 the cities where his supplies were kept, the cities for his horses and chariots, and everything else he wanted to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and elsewhere in his kingdom.
19 todas as cidades-armazéns que Salomão tinha, as cidades para os carros de guerra, as cidades para os cavaleiros e o que desejou enfim construir em Jerusalém, no Líbano e em toda a terra do seu domínio.
20 Solomon used the descendants of the people of Canaan whom the Israelites had not killed when they took possession of their land as his forced labor. These included Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.
20 Quanto a todo o povo que restou dos amorreus, heteus, ferezeus, heveus e jebuseus e que não eram dos filhos de Israel,
21 Their descendants continue to be slaves down to the present time.
21 e aos seus filhos, que restaram depois deles na terra, os quais os filhos de Israel não puderam destruir totalmente, esses Salomão reduziu à condição de trabalhadores forçados, até hoje.
22 Solomon did not make slaves of Israelites. They served as his soldiers, officers, commanders, chariot captains, and cavalry.
22 Mas Salomão não obrigou nenhum israelita a trabalhar como escravo. Os israelitas eram homens de guerra, seus oficiais, seus comandantes, seus capitães, chefes dos seus carros de guerra e dos seus cavaleiros.
23 There were five hundred and fifty officials in charge of the forced labor working on Solomon's various building projects.
23 Os principais oficiais que estavam encarregados da obra de Salomão eram quinhentos e cinquenta, que tinham a seu encargo o povo que trabalhava na obra.
24 Solomon filled in the land on the east side of the city, after his wife, the daughter of the king of Egypt, had moved from David's City to the palace Solomon built for her.
24 Quando a filha de Faraó se mudou da Cidade de Davi para o palácio que Salomão havia construído para ela, então ele construiu Milo.
25 Three times a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings on the altar he had built to Jehovah. He also burned incense to Jehovah. He finished building the Temple.
25 Três vezes por ano Salomão oferecia holocaustos e sacrifícios pacíficos sobre o altar que havia edificado ao Senhor e queimava incenso sobre o altar diante do Senhor . Assim ele terminou a construção do templo.
26 King Solomon also built a fleet of ships at Eziongeber. This is near Elath on the shore of the Gulf of Aqaba, in the land of Edom.
26 O rei Salomão também construiu uma frota de navios em Eziom-Geber, que fica perto de Elate, na praia do mar Vermelho, na terra de Edom.
27 King Hiram sent experienced sailors from his fleet to serve with Solomon's men.
27 Hirão enviou, com aquela frota, os seus servos, marinheiros conhecedores do mar, para acompanharem os servos de Salomão.
28 They sailed to the land of Ophir and brought back to Solomon about sixteen tons of gold.
28 Chegaram a Ofir e de lá trouxeram para o rei Salomão mais de catorze toneladas de ouro.
