1 God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the "gods":
1 Salmo de Asaf. Levanta-se Deus na assembléia divina, entre os deuses profere o seu julgamento.
2 "How long will you "defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? [^2]
2 Até quando julgareis iniquamente, favorecendo a causa dos ímpios?
3 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
3 Defendei o oprimido e o órfão, fazei justiça ao humilde e ao pobre,
4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
4 livrai o oprimido e o necessitado, tirai-o das garras dos ímpios.
5 "The 'gods' know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
5 Eles não querem saber nem compreender, andam nas trevas, vacilam os fundamentos da terra.
6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.'
6 Eu disse: Sois deuses, sois todos filhos do Altíssimo.
7 But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler."
7 Contudo, morrereis como simples homens e, como qualquer príncipe, caireis.
8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance.
8 Levantai-vos, Senhor, para julgar a terra, porque são vossas todas as nações.
