1 Fí ɛ mum ɛ no nu lɛ, ben ecinɛ mvuntelem mvù befe le, ecinɛ kenlɛɛma noo díɛw fiɛɛ le, ecinɛ kendoŋ ke benɛɛn noo mvuŋkunsɛn e.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Ben ekɛŋkè shiee fô ɛmben yo ɛ̂ keyoy e yò ɛ̀ nu diɛw Nyo' ɛyinɛyin e, kɛ lɛŋlɛŋ no wan wvu caan ké no kɛŋke fô ɛmben e, wvu lɛ yí egeè ɛ ben kuu gɛne fwe yî mboyma wene le,
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 no ben nu ɛ yɛn wase lɛ Tata taale fô ben e.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Ben etoò fô Tata le wvù nu tɛ ɛ dí kɛŋke nshii, ɛ bonyii to tun lɛ kɛ dí jee kɛ, geenɛn ɛ Nyo' caw fiew lɛ ɛ̀ nu di kenlum e fô wen e.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Fí nu ɛ̂ Ŋwa' Nyo' le lɛ,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Fô ben bò nu ɛ lese fitele yî ye le nu ɛ tɛ din jee fô ben e. Geenɛn fô bonyii bò baa lese fitele yî ye le nu ɛ fí nu fô bó le no bó to saŋɛɛ ɛ̂ Ŋwa' Nyo' le lɛ,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Ɛ fí bvuu nu ɛ bó ɛ saŋ lɛ,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Geenɛn, ben nu finɛn kfuu ɛ ɛ̀ caw Nyo' ben. Ben nu ŋgoo bocee ncese bò lemte Nfon e. Ben nu ketum kè yuule, nu bonyii bò Nyo' nu ɛ ge lɛ ɛ̀ nu naa bew, lɛ ben eseŋè mwɛɛm mvù jee mvù wvú gee. Wvú nu ɛ tee ben, ben ɛ buy ɛ̂ ɛjiwɛ le, ɛ ley ɛ̂ n'yuu we wvu baay e.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ɛ̀ to nu fwele ɛ ben yaa nu bonyii kɛ, keseen ben ɛ no nu wase bonyii bo Nyo' le. Nyo' to baa cam shen fô ben e fwele kɛ, keseen nu ɛ wvú ɛ cam wase shen fô ben e.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Nsáa yɛm shém, ben ekeè lɛ ben nu botolo yî nshɛ le fɛn fele lo je. Me ɛ mum ɛ no nlooci ŋkule lo can ɛ̂ ben lɛ fo ben egeè mwɛɛm mvù nyam ye shieele kɛ, njefo mwɛɛm mvumvun diuu bô biyoy binɛn.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Ben eduŋcì keŋge kè jee ɛntelɛŋ jo bonyii bò yaa kee kɛ Nyo' wvu lɛ ɛ́ bó cim jemyi ɛkumɛ ben lɛ ben befe lo, ɛ́ bó eyɛnè keŋge kenɛn kè jee le, ɛ́ ke edioo enu diuu dì Nyo' ɛ to, ɛ́ bó etumte moŋkum mew.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Ben eyuukè wee tfuu wvù bó nu ɛ gɛɛ lɛ wvú esaakè bonyii le no ben nu bonyii bo Tata le. Ben eyuukè Nfon wvu Lum wvù nu Nfon wvu baay e,

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Nyo' gomte lɛ ben egeè mwɛɛm mvu lɛŋ, emum ebaaŋke dew biyuŋ bi bonyii le bò jemyi mwɛɛm ncɛwncɛw.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Ben eceè diɛwɛ bonyii bò bó nu ɛ bvuse wase bó bvunfaw e, geenɛn fo ben emum ejoò fifiɛ tɛɛke fojise gee bibefɛ kɛ. Ben eceè ɛ ɛ̀ nu diɛwɛ bonfaw bo Nyo' le.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Ben ewvumtè bonyii bocii, kooŋkè boom bo bwee wene le bo mbee le bocii, fanè Nyo', wvumtè Nfon wvu Lum wvù nu Nfon wvu baay.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Bonyii bò lemte bomew e, ben eyuukè bonyii bò ben nu ɛ̂ bó ɛkuse le, wvumtè bó ntay. Fo ben eyuukè kɛ ɛ ɛ̀ nu bò nu nyɛkeey taale fô ben e kɛ. Ben ewvumtè tɛn bò befe keŋge le.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Me njemyi nɛn njefo Nyo' ké no yuuke njoŋ bô wee wvù bó nyɛwle bô wvú ɛ wvú yuuke nsase sɛ wvú nu ɛ jay fiɛɛ, geenɛn kuule kɛ shém njefo wvù nu ɛ gɛɛ bvufee yî Nyo' le.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ɛ́ bó suuŋke wee ɛ wvú ɛ jay fiɛɛ, wvú ɛ no kuule shém, ɛ́ sɛw wvudvu enu la? Geenɛn, ɛ́ wee yɛne ŋgɛw ɛ ɛ̀ nu yî fiɛɛ fì jee le ɛ wvú ɛ ge, wvú ɛ no kuule shém, ɛ́ Nyo' eyuuke njoŋ bô wvú.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Ɛ̀ nu bvudvuu bvunɛn keeyɛne ŋgɛw nonɛn, njefo Klistu tɛn to nu ɛ yɛn ŋgɛw nje yene, duŋcɛ kenfewsɛn ɛ̂ ben lɛ ben ejo ɛkalɛ kew.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 “Wvú to ke baa yuu ge naa lo kebefɛ kɛ, ɛ kɛ díɛw fiɛɛ to ké no ɛ yuu buy diuw we le kɛ.”
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Seke bó to nan'yi wvú, wvú to baa tfuse kɛ. Ɛ́ bó dioo njiŋsene bô wvú, wvú saa sɛwci kɛ, geenɛn nya fiɛɛ ficii ɛ ɛ̀ nu can Nyo' le wvù kee keesaw nsaw lɛŋ.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Wvú to nu ɛ tfuse bibefɛ bisɛɛbeene ɛ bí tu yî ye le yî kentam e. Wvú to ge nonɛn, wvu lɛ beene ekpwe ɛ̂ keba ke kebefɛ le, eceè nce wvu teytey. Bilɛmte bì wvú to kɛŋkɛɛ nu ɛ ge wase beene ɛ bonɛn.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Ben to shee njimte diɛwɛ njée le, geenɛn keseen ben ɛ kase wase ɛ to fô Wee wvù Cɛyte bvuu Taale fô biyoy binɛn e.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
