1 To the Chief Musician. Do not destroy. A secret treasure of David, when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend me from those who rise up against me.
1 Livra-me de meus inimigos, ó Deus, protege-me dos que vieram me destruir.
2 Deliver me from the workers of evil and save me from bloody men.
2 Livra-me dos criminosos, salva-me dos assassinos.
3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; the mighty are gathered against me; not [for] my transgression, nor [for] my sin, O LORD.
3 Armaram uma emboscada para mim; inimigos ferozes estão à minha espera, S embora eu não tenha pecado nem os tenha ofendido.
4 Without [my] fault they run and prepare themselves; awaken to help me, and look [on me].
4 Sou inocente, mas eles se apressam em me atacar. Desperta! Vê o que está acontecendo e ajuda-me!
5 And You, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the nations; do not be merciful to any plotting evil. Selah.
5 Ó S enhor , Deus dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel, desperta e castiga as nações; não tenhas misericórdia dos traidores perversos. Interlúdio
6 They return at evening; they make a noise like a dog, and go around the city.
6 Eles saem à noite, rosnando como cães ferozes enquanto rondam a cidade.
7 Behold, they bellow out with their mouth; swords [are] in their lips; for [they say], Who hears?
7 Ouve as coisas imundas que lhes saem da boca; suas palavras cortam como espadas. “Afinal, quem nos ouvirá?”, dizem com desprezo.
8 But You, O Jehovah, shall laugh at them; You will mock at all the nations.
8 Mas tu, S enhor , ris deles; zombas das nações.
9 O my Strength, let me look to You, for God [is] my strong tower.
9 És minha força; em ti espero, pois tu, ó Deus, és minha fortaleza.
10 The God of my mercy shall go before me; God shall let me see [my desire] on my enemies.
10 Em seu amor, meu Deus estará comigo; permitirá que eu triunfe sobre meus inimigos.
11 Do not kill them, lest my people forget; scatter them by Your power and bring them down, O LORD our shield.
11 Não os mates, para que meu povo não se esqueça depressa; dispersa-os com teu poder e derruba-os, ó Senhor, nosso escudo.
12 [For] the sin of their mouth [is] the word of their lips, even let them be taken in their pride; and for cursing and the lying [which] they speak.
12 Pelas coisas pecaminosas que dizem, pelo mal que há em seus lábios, que sejam apanhados em seu orgulho, em suas maldições e mentiras.
13 Consume [them] in wrath; consume, so that they may not be; and let them know that God rules in Jacob to the ends of the earth. Selah.
13 Destrói-os em tua ira! Extermina-os por completo! Então o mundo todo saberá que Deus reina em Israel. Interlúdio
14 And at evening they shall return; let them howl like a dog, and go around the city.
14 Eles saem à noite, rosnando como cães ferozes enquanto rondam a cidade.
15 Let them wander up and down for food, and growl if they are not satisfied.
15 Andam à procura de alimento, mas vão dormir insatisfeitos.
16 But I will sing of Your power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; for You have been my strong tower and hiding-place in the day of my trouble.
16 Eu, porém, cantarei sobre o teu poder; cada manhã, cantarei com alegria sobre o teu amor. Pois tu tens sido minha fortaleza, lugar seguro em minha aflição.
17 To You, O my strength, I will sing; for God [is] my strong tower [and] the God of my mercy.
17 Ó minha Força, a ti canto louvores, pois tu, ó Deus, és minha fortaleza, o Deus que mostra amor por mim.
