1 I will stand on my watch and set myself on the tower, and will watch to see what He will say to me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
1 Eu estarei sobre a minha guarda, e me colocarei sobre a torre; vigiarei para ver o que ele falará a mim, e o que eu responderei quando eu for reprovado.
2 And the LORD answered me and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain on the tablets, that he who reads it may run.
2 Então o SENHOR me respondeu, e disse: Escreve a visão e faça-a bem legível sobre tábuas, para que a possa ler quem passa correndo.
3 For the vision [is] still for an appointed time, but it [speaks] to the end, and it does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it; because it will surely come. It will not tarry.
3 Pois a visão é ainda para o tempo determinado, mas no final ela falará, e não mentirá; se tardar, espera-a, porque certamente virá, não tardará.
4 Behold, the soul of him is lifted up, [and] is not upright; but the just shall live by his faith.
4 Eis que a alma dele que é orgulhosa não é reta nele; mas o justo viverá pela sua fé.
5 And also wine indeed betrays a proud man, and [he is] not content. He widens his soul like Sheol, and he [is] like death, and is not satisfied, but gathers all nations to himself, and heaps to himself all the peoples.
5 Além disso, por transgredir com o vinho, ele é um homem orgulhoso e não permanece em casa; alarga seu desejo como o inferno, e é como a morte, que não se farta; mas ajunta para si todas as nações, e congrega a si todos os povos.
6 Shall not all these lift up a parable against him, and a mocking riddle to him, and say, Woe to him who increases [what is] not his! Until when, then, shall he load the pledges on himself?
6 Não levantarão todos estes uma parábola e um provérbio sarcástico contra ele? E se dirá: Ai daquele que aumenta o que não é seu! Até quando? E daquele que carrega sobre si dívidas!
7 Shall not those who strike you rise up suddenly, and [those] who shake you awake, and you become a prize to them?
7 Porventura não se levantarão de repente os teus credores, e tu não despertarás os que te farão tremer, e não lhes servirás de despojo?
8 Because you have stripped many nations, all the rest of the people shall strip you; because of men's blood, and the violence of the land, of the city, and of all who dwell in it.
8 Por ter arruinado muitas nações, todos os demais povos arruinarão a ti, por causa do sangue dos homens, e pela violência feita à terra, à cidade, e a todos os que nela habitam.
9 Woe [to] him who robs evil booty for his house, to set his nest on high, to be delivered from the hand of evil!
9 Ai daquele que cobiçar uma cobiça avarenta para a sua casa, para que ele possa estabelecer seu ninho no alto, a fim de se livrar do poder do mal!
10 You have planned shame to your house, to make an end of many people, and are sinning [in] your soul.
10 Tens consultado vergonha para a tua casa, exterminando a muitos povos, e tens pecado contra a tua alma.
11 For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.
11 Pois a pedra clamará da parede, e a trave, do madeiramento, lhe responderá.
12 Woe [to] him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!
12 Ai daquele que edifica uma cidade com sangue, e estabelece uma cidade por meio da iniquidade!
13 Behold, [is it] not for the LORD of hosts that the people labor only for fire; yea, the nations weary themselves only for vanity?
13 Porventura não vem do SENHOR dos Exércitos que os povos trabalhem pelo fogo, e que as nações se cansem por pura vaidade?
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
14 Pois a terra se encherá do conhecimento da glória do SENHOR, como as águas cobrem o mar.
15 Woe [to] him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring out your wineskin, and also making [him] drunk, that you may look on their nakedness!
15 Ai daquele que dá de beber ao seu vizinho, que entrega a tua garrafa a ele, e lhe embebeda, para lhe contemplar a nudez!
16 You are filled with shame instead of glory; drink also, and [be] seen as one uncircumcised! The cup of the LORD's right hand shall turn on you, and disgrace [shall be] your glory.
16 Serás cheio de vergonha em lugar de glória; bebe tu também, e que o teu prepúcio seja descoberto; o cálice da mão direita do SENHOR voltará a ti, e vômito vergonhoso estará sobre a tua glória.
17 For the violence of Lebanon shall cover you, and the ruin of beasts shall terrify them because of the blood of man, and the violence of the land, the city, and all those dwelling in it.
17 Pois a violência cometida contra o Líbano te cobrirá, e a ruína das feras, que os fizeram ter medo; por causa do sangue dos homens, e pela violência feita à terra, à cidade, e a todos os que nela habitam.
18 What does an image profit, for its maker has carved it; a molten image, and a teacher of lies? For does the maker trust in his work on it, to make dumb idols?
18 Que aproveita a imagem de escultura, depois que o seu artífice a esculpiu? Ela é imagem de fundição e ensina mentiras, para que quem a formou confie na sua obra, fazendo ídolos mudos?
19 Woe [to] him who says to the wood. Awake! To a dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it [is] overlaid [with] gold and silver, and no breath is in its midst.
19 Ai daquele que diz à madeira: Acorda! E à pedra muda: Levanta! Pode isso ensinar? Eis que está coberta de ouro e de prata, e não há fôlego de forma alguma dentro dela.
20 But the LORD [is] in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him.
20 Mas o SENHOR está em seu santo templo; que toda a terra cale-se diante dele.
