1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:
2 «Salo kaatetithay fa na7ayis bossi makkeez kaata aaziza.
2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
3 Ye kaatay boss ye7oay garkk odeez asa xeegodayis fa ayllita azazeeza. Zin asay ye7odayis koyekkaya.
3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.
4 Ma hara ayllita xeegii, xeegintteez asitayiko yhanigii, ‹Taanii ta sanggitannee modhdheez mehita shukkeeza; ubba baz giigeeza. Ta bossayiko ye7oytta yeegoytta› yeegii kiiteeza.
4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
5 Zin xeegintteezitay xeessa ixxii, fa yhanttas yhanttas qiteeza. Pettay fa wootas, yhankkay fa zal7es qiteeza.
5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.

6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.

7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 Yeypp guye, fa ayllitayiko, ‹bossay giigeeza, zin xeegintteezitay bossayis beeziza as baaya.
8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 Yey gishos, dammo goosa aykkii yhanigii, denggeez as ubbita bossa ye7od garkk xeegoytta› yeegeeza.
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 Ayllitay ogel kezii fa denggeez as ubba lo77itannee iitita ki7ii bossa shaqara gelisii kuntheeza.
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
11 «Zin kaatay muntta maadayis betteez asa be7adayis gelodar bossi afila ma77ekka pettii as denggeeza.
11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 Eziko, ‹Naat ne bossi afila ma77ekkazar wayizii yhaydda geleenee?› yeegeeza. Zin athay si77e atteeza.
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
13 «Kaatay fa ayllitayiko, ‹Yha athayis kushannee toka accii, bale dhuma kessii olloytta. Ezayid ezisi yeefonnee achch coonchii maaqqada› yeegeeza.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 «Yey garkk, Xooss kaatetithayis xeegintteezitay gaame zin dorintteezitay xiqqa» yeegeeza.
14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 Yeypp guye, Ferisaawitay yhanigii, Yesuusa wayizii odar aykkodazako tobbeeza.

16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;

18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?

21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.

22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.

24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.

25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.

26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.

27 And last of all the woman also died.

28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?

29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
30 Asay yhayiqoppe denddiza wode salo yez kiitanchchitay garkk maaqqodaypp attin ekkooyannee gelooya.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.

31 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes o que Deus vos disse:
32 Xoossay, ‹Taanii Afraame Xooss, Isaaqa Xooss, Yayqqooba Xooss› yeegeeza. Yey gishos, Xoossay pathi yezitay Xoossapp attin yhayqqeezitay Xooss baaya»yeegeeza.
32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Ex 3,6}? Ora, ele não é Deus dos mortos, mas Deus dos vivos.

36 Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?
37 Yesuusa mahii, «‹Ne Goda, ne Xoossa, ne kunthi wozinaypp, ne kunthi shemppopp, ne kunthi qofapp qadhdhoba.
37 Respondeu Jesus: Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo teu coração, de toda tua alma e de todo teu espírito {Dt 6,5}.
38 Ubbapp aadhizaynne bayra kiitay yhaya.
38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.

39 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.

40 Nesses dois mandamentos se resumem toda a lei e os profetas.

41 Como os fariseus se agrupassem, Jesus interrogou-os:
42 «Kiristtoosa bagga yi waagee? E o na7a?» yeegii oyceeza. U, «E Kaata Dawute na7a» yeegii maheeza.
42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!

43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:

44 O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?
45 Yikkee, Dawute Kiristtoosa Goda gi xeegiko, wayizii Kiristtoosa Dawute na7a maaqqee?» yeegeeza.
45 Se, pois, Davi o chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
46 Yesuusas pettii qaala mahodayis danda7eez as oonkka baaya. Ma ye gallasapp aykkii hara oyichi oyccodayis oonkka danda7ekkaya.
46 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada. E, depois daquele dia, ninguém mais ousou interrogá-lo.
