2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 Ko̱ kì tà i̱sò'nga‑la̱ yijo‑nò 'ñó ndaà bíndaà, nga 'ñó ndaà bí'ñó tsja̱ skoò, nga ndáto̱n chjí nìkjeén xi nguì oro, nga jñà nikje x'ió‑nò 'ñó xkón kjoàn.
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 Majìn, jè xi nchrobájiìn ini̱ma̱‑nò xi ndaà síkatsejèn‑nò, jè‑né xi mìkiì bits'on, jè ini̱ma̱ xi indaàkjoa̱ ko̱ xi 'nchán tíjna. Jè xi 'ñó tse chjí‑la̱ nga nguixko̱n Nainá.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Nga sa̱ kjòtseé, jñà íchjín xi ndaà kijtseèxkón Nainá nga kiskoòñà‑la̱, k'oa̱á s'ín ndaà tsatsejèn nga nangui tsibìtsa̱jna‑la̱ x'i̱n‑la̱.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 K'oa̱á s'ín kis'iìn Sara nga kisìkitasòn‑la̱ Abraham. K'oa̱á ma‑ne nga ndaà kijtseèxkón nga jè xi Na̱'èn tíjna. Jñò, tsà ndaà 'nè ko̱ tsà nìmé kjo̱xkón tjín‑nò, tje̱‑la̱ Saraá ma.
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 Jñò xi x'i̱n 'mì‑nò, ndaà ti̱tsa̱jnako̱o jñà íchjín‑nò nga ndaà kàtachi̱ya‑nò nga ìsa̱á indaàkjoa̱. Ndaà jcha̱xkón íchjín‑nò nga ngásòn tjoé‑nò jè kjo̱ndaà‑la̱ Nainá, jè kjoa̱binachon xi jè Nainá jye tjíndaà‑la̱ nga tsjá‑nò. K'oa̱á s'ín t'e̱en mé‑ne k'e̱ nga nokjoàt'aà‑là Nainá, ni̱mé si̱ìjti‑nò.
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Nga yije kjoa̱ koi, ngats'ioò, ta jngoò kjo̱hítsjeèn kàtas'e‑nò; ti̱jetakòn xinguio̱o; tjòcha t'e̱en xinguio̱o nga 'ndsè chiba; chahi̱ma̱a xinguio̱o; i̱ma̱ kjoa̱ t'e̱en.

9 Tsà yá xi ch'o síko̱‑nò, kì k'oa̱á ti̱s'ín 'nè ngajo‑nò. Tsà yá xi 'on chja̱jno‑nò, kì k'oa̱á ti̱s'ín nokjoàjno ngajo‑là. Jñò, ta̱ sa̱á ti̱jét'aà‑là Nainá nga kàtasíchikon‑t'in; nga jyeé 'yaà nga koií xá kinokjoá‑nò nga Nainá si̱ìchikon‑t'in‑nò.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Nga:
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Ti̱nchat'aàxìn‑là kjoa̱ xi ch'o tjín; ndaà t'e̱en.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Nga jè Na̱'èn‑ná tísík'aá xko̱n nga tísíkinda̱ xi xi̱ta̱ kixi̱,
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Jñò, tsà kjit'aà na̱chrjein nga ndaà titsa̱'nè, mì yá xi̱ta̱ xi ch'o si̱ìko̱‑nò.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Ta̱nga mé ta ndaà‑nò tsà kjo̱'in titsa̱nìkjioón ta koi kjoa̱‑la̱ nga kixi̱ 'nè. Ta̱nga ni̱ jngoò xi̱ta̱ tsakjoòn‑là, kì binchaxkón‑là yijo‑nò.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Jè ti̱kíjna ítjòn Cristo nga jè kàtatíxoma‑nò ya̱ i̱jiìn ini̱ma̱‑nò. Ti̱tsa̱jnandaà nga kjit'aà na̱chrjein mé‑ne nga ko̱ma kéno̱jmíya‑là jñà xi̱ta̱ xi sko̱nanguiya‑nò i̱t'aà ts'e̱ kjoa̱ xi titsa̱chiñá‑là i̱t'aà ts'e̱ Cristo.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Ìsa̱á ndaà tjín tsà ko̱s'ín mejèn‑la̱ Nainá nga kjo̱'in si̱kjioón k'e̱ nga ndaà 'nè, mì k'oa̱‑ne tsà k'e̱ nga ch'o 'nè.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Nga skanda jè Cristo, jngoò k'aá kisìkjeiín kjo̱'in k'e̱ nga k'en xi kjoa̱ ts'e̱ jé‑ná. Cristo, mìtsà jé tsohótsji; xi̱ta̱ kixi̱‑né; kisìkjeiín kjo̱'in i̱t'aà ts'e̱ xi̱ta̱ xi jé tjín‑la̱ mé‑ne nga ko̱ma kji̱ko̱‑ná nguixko̱n Nainá. Yijo‑la̱, jñà xi̱ta̱ kisìk'en, ta̱nga i̱t'aà ts'e̱ Ini̱ma̱‑la̱ jaáya ìjngoò k'a‑la̱.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 Ko̱ jè Ini̱ma̱‑la̱ Cristo kiì i̱'nde ñánda títsa̱jna ini̱ma̱ xi títsa̱jnaya nda̱yá nga kiìchja̱yajiìn‑la̱.
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 Ini̱ma̱ koi, ts'e̱é xi̱ta̱ xi mìkiì kiì'nchréñijon‑la̱ Nainá na̱chrjein ts'e̱ Noé. Nainá tseé kiskoòñà kjoa̱ k'e̱ nga Noé tsibíndaà chitso je. Ya̱ i̱ya chitso, tà jiìn ma‑ne xi̱ta̱ xi itjokàjiìn kjo̱'in nga mìkiì k'en k'e̱ nga ts'a jtsí xkón.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 Ko̱ jè nandá ts'e̱ jtsí xkón, jè ngaya‑la̱ nandá xi ma‑ná bautizar na̱chrjein i̱'ndei̱ nga bitjokàjñaá kjo̱'in. Ta̱nga nga maá bautizar, mìtsà yijo‑ná matsjeè‑ne, jè‑né nga nìjét'aà‑lá Nainá nga tsjeè kàtas'e kjo̱hítsjeèn‑ná. Ko̱ bitjokàjñaá kjo̱'in, koií kjoa̱‑la̱ nga jaáya‑la̱ Cristo,
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.

22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
