Living Oracles NT (LONT) vs NVI
1 Symeon Peter, a servant and Apostle of Jesus Christ, to them who have obtained like precious faith with us, through the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:
1 Simão Pedro, servo e apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, àqueles que, mediante a justiça de nosso Deus e Salvador Jesus Cristo, receberam conosco uma fé igualmente valiosa:
2 Favor and peace be multiplied to you, through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.
2 Graça e paz lhes sejam multiplicadas, pelo pleno conhecimento de Deus e de Jesus, o nosso Senhor.
3 As his divine power has gifted to us all things which are necessary to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who has called us to glory and virtue.
3 Seu divino poder nos deu todas as coisas de que necessitamos para a vida e para a piedade, por meio do pleno conhecimento daquele que nos chamou para a sua própria glória e virtude.
4 On account of which, the greatest and most precious promises are freely given to us, that by these we might be made partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world, through lust.
4 Por intermédio destas ele nos deu as suas grandiosas e preciosas promessas, para que por elas vocês se tornassem participantes da natureza divina e fugissem da corrupção que há no mundo, causada pela cobiça.
5 And for this very reason, indeed, giving all diligence, add to your faith, courage; and to courage, knowledge;
5 Por isso mesmo, empenhem-se para acrescentar à sua fé a virtude; à virtude o conhecimento;
6 and to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness;
6 ao conhecimento o domínio próprio; ao domínio próprio a perseverança; à perseverança a piedade;
7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love:
7 à piedade a fraternidade; e à fraternidade o amor.
8 for these things being in you, and abounding, make you to be neither slothful, nor unfruitful, in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 Porque, se essas qualidades existirem e estiverem crescendo em suas vidas, elas impedirão que vocês, no pleno conhecimento de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, sejam inoperantes e improdutivos.
9 But he who has not these things, is blind, shutting his eyes, having become forgetful of the purification of his old sins.
9 Todavia, se alguém não as tem, está cego, só vê o que está perto, esquecendo-se da purificação dos seus antigos pecados.
10 Wherefore, the rather, brethren, earnestly endeavor to make your calling and election sure; for doing these things, you shall never fall;
10 Portanto, irmãos, empenhem-se ainda mais para consolidar o chamado e a eleição de vocês, pois se agirem dessa forma, jamais tropeçarão,
11 and thus there shall be richly ministered to you, an entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
11 e assim vocês estarão ricamente providos quando entrarem no Reino eterno de nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo.
12 Wherefore, I will not neglect to put you always in remembrance of these things, although you know, and are established in the present truth.
12 Por isso, sempre terei o cuidado de lembrar-lhes estas coisas, se bem que vocês já as sabem e estão solidamente firmados na verdade que receberam.
13 Yes, I think it fit, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up, by putting you in remembrance;
13 Considero importante, enquanto estiver no tabernáculo deste corpo, despertar a memória de vocês,
14 knowing, that the putting off of this, my tabernacle, is soon to happen, even as our Lord Jesus Christ has showed me.
14 porque sei que em breve deixarei este tabernáculo, como o nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo já me revelou.
15 Therefore, I will carefully endeavor that you may be able, after my decease, to have these things always in remembrance.
15 Eu me empenharei para que, também depois da minha partida, vocês sejam sempre capazes de lembrar-se destas coisas.
16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye-witnesses of his grandeur;
16 De fato, não seguimos fábulas engenhosamente inventadas, quando lhes falamos a respeito do poder e da vinda de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo; pelo contrário, nós fomos testemunhas oculares da sua majestade.
17 «for when he received from God the Father honor and glory, a vice to this effect came to him from the magnificent glory,» 'This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I delight.'
17 Ele recebeu honra e glória da parte de Deus Pai, quando da suprema glória lhe foi dirigida a voz que disse: "Este é o meu filho amado, em quem me agrado".
18 And this voice we heard come from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain:
18 Nós mesmos ouvimos essa voz vinda do céu, quando estávamos com ele no monte santo.
19 so we have the prophetic word more firm; to which you do well to take heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, till the day dawn, and the morning star arise in your hearts.
19 Assim, temos ainda mais firme a palavra dos profetas, e vocês farão bem se a ela prestarem atenção, como a uma candeia que brilha em lugar escuro, até que o dia clareie e a estrela da alva nasça em seus corações.
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy brought by the will of man;
20 Antes de mais nada, saibam que nenhuma profecia da Escritura provém de interpretação pessoal,
21 but the holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
21 pois jamais a profecia teve origem na vontade humana, mas homens falaram da parte de Deus, impelidos pelo Espírito Santo.
