1 Hallelujah. Praise, O my soul, the Lord.
1 Louvai ao Senhor ! Ó minha alma, louva ao Senhor !
2 I will praise the Lord throughout my life: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
2 Louvarei ao Senhor durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto viver.
3 Put not your trust in princes, in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
3 Não confieis em príncipes nem em filhos de homens, em quem não há salvação.
4 When his spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his native earth: on that very day perish his thoughts.
4 Sai-lhes o espírito, e eles tornam para sua terra; naquele mesmo dia, perecem os seus pensamentos.
5 But happy is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is on the Lord his God;
5 Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio e cuja esperança está posta no Senhor , seu Deus,
6 Who hath made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;
6 que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo quanto há neles e que guarda a verdade para sempre;
7 Who executeth justice for the oppressed: who giveth bread to the hungry: the Lord looseneth the prisoners;
7 que faz justiça aos oprimidos; que dá pão aos famintos. O
8 The Lord causeth the blind to see; the Lord raiseth up those who are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous:
8 o Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos; o Senhor levanta os abatidos; o Senhor ama os justos;
9 The Lord guardeth the strangers; the fatherless and widow he helpeth up; but the way of the wicked he maketh crooked.
9 o Senhor guarda os estrangeiros; ampara o órfão e a viúva, mas transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.
10 The Lord will reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah.
10 O Senhor reinará eternamente; o teu Deus, ó Sião, é de geração em geração. Louvai ao Senhor !
