¹ Hallelujah. Praise, O my soul, the Lord.

¹ Louvai ao Senhor. Ó minha alma, louva ao Senhor.

² I will praise the Lord throughout my life: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

² Louvarei ao Senhor durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto viver.

³ Put not your trust in princes, in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

³ Não confieis em príncipes, nem em filho de homem, em quem não há auxílio.

⁴ When his spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his native earth: on that very day perish his thoughts.

⁴ Sai-lhe o espírito, e ele volta para a terra; naquele mesmo dia perecem os seus pensamentos.

⁵ But happy is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is on the Lord his God;

⁵ Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio, e cuja esperança está no Senhor seu Deus

⁶ Who hath made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

⁶ que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo quanto neles há, e que guarda a verdade para sempre;

⁷ Who executeth justice for the oppressed: who giveth bread to the hungry: the Lord looseneth the prisoners;

⁷ que faz justiça aos oprimidos, que dá pão aos famintos. O Senhor solta os encarcerados;

⁸ The Lord causeth the blind to see; the Lord raiseth up those who are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous:

⁸ o Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos; o Senhor levanta os abatidos; o Senhor ama os justos.

⁹ The Lord guardeth the strangers; the fatherless and widow he helpeth up; but the way of the wicked he maketh crooked.

⁹ O Senhor preserva os peregrinos; ampara o órfão e a viúva; mas transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.

¹⁰ The Lord will reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah.

¹⁰ O Senhor reinará eternamente: o teu Deus, ó Sião, reinará por todas as gerações. Louvai ao Senhor!
