Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs NTLH
1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation without desire for repentance;
1 Pense bem e tome juízo, povo sem-vergonha,
2 Before the decree is brought forthlike the chaff the day passeth awaybefore yet there be come over you the fierce anger of the Lord, before yet there be come over you the day of the anger of the Lord.
2 antes que vocês sejam levados embora como a palha que desaparece num só dia; antes que a ira furiosa do Senhor Deus caia sobre vocês; antes que chegue o Dia da ira do Senhor .
3 Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, who have fulfilled his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: perhaps ye will be protected on the day of the Lords anger.
3 Voltem para Deus todos os humildes deste país, todos os que obedecem às leis de Deus. Façam o que é direito e sejam humildes. Talvez assim vocês escapem do castigo no Dia da ira do Senhor .
4 For Gazzah shall become forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolate place: Ashdod shall they drive out at the noon of day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
4 A cidade de Gaza ficará deserta, e Asquelom será abandonada. Os moradores de Asdode serão expulsos em menos de um dia, e os moradores de Ecrom serão levados embora como prisioneiros.
5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the district by the sea, the nation of the Kerethites! the word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that no inhabitant shall remain.
5 Ai de vocês, filisteus, que moram no litoral do mar Mediterrâneo! O Senhor Deus passou esta sentença contra vocês: “Vou acabar com Canaã, a sua terra; todos os moradores serão mortos.
6 And the district by the sea shall become places for pens of shepherds, and folds for flocks.
6 O seu país, no litoral, vai virar pastos, onde haverá barracas para os pastores e currais para os rebanhos.”
7 And this district shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; thereupon shall they feed their flocks: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening; for the Lord their God will think of them, and bring back their captivity.
7 Em Judá, as pessoas que não forem mortas ficarão com as terras do litoral. Ali elas cuidarão dos seus rebanhos e dormirão nas casas de Asquelom. Pois o Senhor Deus vai lembrar do seu povo e o fará prosperar outra vez.
8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, wherewith they have reproached my people, and made themselves great against their border.
8 O Senhor Todo-Poderoso diz: — Ouvi os moabitas e os amonitas zombarem do meu povo e o insultarem. Eles se gabaram de que iam conquistar a sua terra.
9 Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall become like Sodom, and the children of Ammon like Gomorrah, overgrown with nettles, and filled with saltpits, and a desolation to eternity; the residue of my people shall plunder them, and the remnant of my nation shall possess them.
9 Portanto, eu, o Deus de Israel, juro pela minha vida que os países de Moabe e Amom vão ser destruídos como foram as cidades de Sodoma e Gomorra. As terras deles serão um deserto para sempre; ficarão cobertas de espinheiros, e haverá poços de sal por toda parte. Os que sobrarem do meu povo levarão embora tudo o que pertence aos moabitas e aos amonitas e ficarão com as terras deles.
10 This shall they have in recompense for their pride; because they have reproached and made themselves great against the people of the Lord of hosts.
10 É assim que eles serão castigados. Pois ficaram orgulhosos, insultaram o povo do Senhor Todo-Poderoso e se gabaram de que iam conquistá-lo.
11 Terrible will the Lord appear over them; for he will cause to vanish all the gods of the earth; and then shall prostrate themselves before him, every one from its place, all the isles of the nations.
11 O Senhor os atacará de um modo terrível; ele acabará com todos os deuses do mundo. Então todos os povos, cada um no seu próprio país, adorarão a Deus.
12 Also ye Ethiopians shall be those slain by my sword.
12 O povo da Etiópia também será morto pela espada de Deus, o Senhor .
13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and he will make Nineveh a desolate place, dry, like the wilderness.
13 Deus levantará a mão contra a Assíria, no Norte. Ele destruirá aquele país, acabará com a cidade de Nínive e a deixará sem moradores, como se fosse um deserto onde não existe água.
14 And there shall lie down in the midst of her flocks, all the beasts of the nations; both the pelican and the hedgehog shall lodge in the capitals of her columns; singingbirds shall sing in the windows; ruin shall be on the thresholds; for the cedar wainscoting shall be torn away.
14 Rebanhos de ovelhas e todo tipo de animais selvagens descansarão na cidade. Corujas pousarão nas ruínas das casas e piarão nas janelas, e corvos soltarão gritos nas soleiras das portas. Toda a madeira das casas será arrancada.
15 This is the joyful city that dwelt in security, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none else beside me: how is she become desolate, a restingplace for beasts! Every one that passeth by her will hiss, and shake his hand.
15 Tudo isso vai acontecer com Nínive, a cidade orgulhosa que se gabava do seu poder, dizendo: “Não há outra cidade tão poderosa como eu!” E ela vai virar um deserto, um lugar onde moram animais. Quem passar por perto vai ficar espantado e horrorizado ao ver tamanha destruição.
