1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation without desire for repentance;
1 Reúnam-se, sim, reúnam-se, ó nação não desejável;
2 Before the decree is brought forth––like the chaff the day passeth away––before yet there be come over you the fierce anger of the Lord, before yet there be come over you the day of the anger of the Lord.
2 Antes que o decreto produza o seu efeito, antes que o dia passe como a palha; antes que o furor da ira do SENHOR venha sobre vós, antes que o dia da ira do SENHOR venha sobre vós.
3 Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, who have fulfilled his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: perhaps ye will be protected on the day of the Lord’s anger.
3 Buscai ao SENHOR, vós todos os mansos da terra, que tendes moldado o seu juízo; buscai a justiça, buscai a mansidão; pode ser que sejais escondidos no dia da ira do SENHOR.
4 For Gazzah shall become forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolate place: Ashdod shall they drive out at the noon of day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
4 Pois Gaza será abandonada, e Asquelom uma assolação; eles expulsarão Asdode ao meio-dia, e Ecrom será desarraigada.
5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the district by the sea, the nation of the Kerethites! the word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that no inhabitant shall remain.
5 Ai dos habitantes da costa do mar, a nação dos quereteus! A palavra do SENHOR é contra vós; ó Canaã, terra dos filisteus, eu ainda vos destruirei, para que não haja habitante.
6 And the district by the sea shall become places for pens of shepherds, and folds for flocks.
6 E a costa do mar será habitação e cabanas para os pastores, e currais para os rebanhos.
7 And this district shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; thereupon shall they feed their flocks: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening; for the Lord their God will think of them, and bring back their captivity.
7 Ela será para o restante da casa de Judá; ali se alimentarão; nas casas de Asquelom se deitarão de tarde; pois o SENHOR seu Deus os visitará, e os fará tornar do seu cativeiro.
8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of ‘Ammon, wherewith they have reproached my people, and made themselves great against their border.
8 Eu ouvi a repreensão de Moabe, e as injúrias dos filhos de Amom, com que repreenderam o meu povo, e se engrandeceram contra o seu território.
9 Therefore as I live, saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall become like Sodom, and the children of ‘Ammon like Gomorrah, overgrown with nettles, and filled with salt–pits, and a desolation to eternity; the residue of my people shall plunder them, and the remnant of my nation shall possess them.
9 Portanto, como eu vivo, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, certamente Moabe será como Sodoma, e os filhos de Amom como Gomorra, campo de urtigas e poços de sal, e desolação perpétua; o restante do meu povo os arruinará, e o remanescente do meu povo os possuirá.
10 This shall they have in recompense for their pride; because they have reproached and made themselves great against the people of the Lord of hosts.
10 Isso terão por seu orgulho, porque repreenderam e se engrandeceram contra o povo do SENHOR dos Exércitos.
11 Terrible will the Lord appear over them; for he will cause to vanish all the gods of the earth; and then shall prostrate themselves before him, every one from its place, all the isles of the nations.
11 O SENHOR será terrível para eles, pois emagrecerá todos os deuses da terra; e os homens virão adorá-lo, cada um desde o seu lugar, até mesmo de todas as ilhas dos pagãos.
12 Also ye Ethiopians shall be those slain by my sword.
12 Vós etíopes também, vós sereis mortos pela minha espada.
13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and he will make Nineveh a desolate place, dry, like the wilderness.
13 E ele estenderá a sua mão contra o norte, e destruirá a Assíria; e fará de Nínive uma desolação, e terra seca como um deserto.
14 And there shall lie down in the midst of her flocks, all the beasts of the nations; both the pelican and the hedgehog shall lodge in the capitals of her columns; singing–birds shall sing in the windows; ruin shall be on the thresholds; for the cedar wainscoting shall be torn away.
14 E rebanhos repousarão no meio dela, todos os animais das nações; tanto o pelicano quanto o ouriço se alojarão nos seus capitéis; o seu canto será ouvido nas janelas; haverá desolação nos limiares, pois ele descobrirá a sua obra de cedro.
15 This is the joyful city that dwelt in security, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none else beside me: how is she become desolate, a resting–place for beasts! Every one that passeth by her will hiss, and shake his hand.
15 Esta é a cidade alegre, que habita despreocupadamente, que diz no seu coração: eu sou, e não há nenhuma além de mim; como se tornou em desolação, em um lugar para os animais repousarem! Todo aquele que passar por ela assobiará, e abanará a sua mão.
