1 "Come, and let us return unto the Lord; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind up our wounds.
1 Vinde, voltemos ao Senhor, ele feriu-nos, ele nos curará; ele causou a ferida, ele a pensará.
2 He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his presence.
2 Dar-nos-á de novo a vida em dois dias; ao terceiro dia levantar-nos-á, e viveremos em sua presença.
3 And let us feel it, that we may strive to know the Lord; bright as the morningdawn is his rising; and he will come as the rain unto us, as the latter rain that maketh fruitful the earth."
3 Apliquemo-nos a conhecer o Senhor; sua vinda é certa como a da aurora; ele virá a nós como a chuva, como a chuva da primavera que irriga a terra.
4 What shall I do unto thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do unto thee, O Judah? for your piety is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away.
4 Que te farei, Efraim? Que te farei, Judá? Vosso amor é como a nuvem da manhã, como o orvalho que logo se dissipa.
5 Therefore did I hew them down by means of the prophets; I slew them by the words of my mouth: and thy punishments go forth like the light.
5 Por isso é que os castiguei pelos profetas, e os matei pelas palavras de minha boca, e meu juízo resplandece como o relâmpago,
6 For piety I desired, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God, more than burntofferings.
6 porque eu quero o amor mais que os sacrifícios, e o conhecimento de Deus mais que os holocaustos.
7 But they, like an ordinary man, have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
7 Mas eles violaram vergonhosamente a aliança e traíram-me.
8 Gilad is become a city of workers of wickedness, is full of traces of blood.
8 Galaad é uma cidade de malfeitores, cheia de traços de sangue;
9 And as troops that lie in wait for a man, so is the band of priests, they murder on the way in unison; for they commit scandalous deeds.
9 os bandidos são a força dela, uma quadrilha de sacerdotes; assassinam no caminho de Siquém, porque seu proceder é criminoso.
10 On the house of Israel have I seen a horrible thing: there is lewdness in Ephraim, Israel is become defiled.
10 Vi horrores na casa de Israel: ali cresce a prostituição de Efraim, ali se mancha Israel.
11 Also for thee, O Judah, will a harvest be prepared, when I bring back the captivity of my people.
11 Apesar de tudo, Judá há de ter boa colheita, quando eu restaurar o meu povo, quando eu curar Israel.
