1 Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will awaken against Babylon, and against those that dwell in the midst of my opponents, a destroying wind;
1 Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu levantarei contra Babilônia, e contra aqueles que habitam no meio daqueles que se levantam contra mim, um vento destruidor.
2 And I will send out unto Babylon fanners, and they shall fan her, and shall empty out her land; for they shall be against her round about on the day of trouble.
2 E enviarei para Babilônia peneiradores, que a irão peneirar, e esvaziarão sua terra, porque no dia da aflição, eles serão contra ela em todas as direções ao seu redor.
3 Let the archer come against any one that bendeth his bow, and against him that lifteth himself up in his armor: and spare ye not her young men: destroy ye utterly all her host.
3 Contra aquele que entesar, entese o arqueiro o seu arco, e contra aquele que a si mesmo exalta em sua couraça. Não poupeis os seus jovens; destruí completamente todo o seu exército.
4 And the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are pierced through, in her streets.
4 Desta forma os mortos cairão na terra dos caldeus, e aqueles que são atravessados nas suas ruas.
5 For not widowed are Israel and Judah of their God, of the Lord of hosts; for the land of those was filled with guiltiness against the Holy One of Israel.
5 Porque Israel não foi abandonado, e nem Judá pelo seu Deus, pelo SENHOR dos Exércitos, embora a sua terra estivesse preenchida com pecado contra o Santo de Israel.
6 Flee ye out of the midst of Babylon, and save ye every man his life: perish not for her iniquity; for this is a time of vengeance unto the Lord; a recompense is he paying out unto her.
6 Fugi do meio de Babilônia, e livrai cada homem a sua alma. Não sejais cortados dentro da sua iniquidade, porque este é o tempo da vingança do SENHOR. Ele lhe dará em retribuição uma recompensa.
7 A golden cup hath Babylon been in the hand of the Lord, that made drunken all the earth: of her wine have nations drunk; therefore are the nations rendered mad.
7 Babilônia tem sido uma taça de ouro na mão do SENHOR, que embriagou toda a terra. As nações beberam do seu vinho, por isso as nações estão enlouquecidas.
8 Suddenly is Babylon fallen and broken: wail ye for her; fetch balm for her wound, perhaps she may be healed.
8 Babilônia está repentinamente caída e destruída. Gemei por ela, tomai bálsamo para a sua dor, supondo-se que ela possa ser curada.
9 "We would have healed Babylon, but she was not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one unto his own country; for her punishment reacheth unto the heavens, and it is lifted up even to the skies."
9 Nós teríamos curado Babilônia, porém ela não está curada. Abandonai-a, e deixe-nos ir cada um para a sua própria região, pois o seu juízo chega até o céu, e está elevada até nos céus.
10 The Lord hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us relate in Zion the work of the Lord our God.
10 O SENHOR produziu a nossa justiça; vinde e declararemos em Sião a obra do SENHOR nosso Deus.
11 Make bright the arrows; fill the quivers: the Lord hath awakened the spirit of the kings of Media; for against Babylon is his intention, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the Lord, the vengeance for his temple.
11 Tornai polidas as flechas, reuni os escudos. O SENHOR agitou o espírito dos reis dos medos, pois seu plano é contra Babilônia, para destruí-la, porque esta é a vingança do SENHOR, a vingança do seu templo.
12 Against the walls of Babylon lift up the standard, strengthen the watch, set up the watchmen, make ready the ambushes; for the Lord hath both intended and done what he had spoken against the inhabitants of Babylon.
12 Erguei o estandarte sobre os muros de Babilônia, tornai a vigilância forte, estabelecei as sentinelas, preparai as emboscadas, pois o SENHOR tem planejado e executado o que ele falou contra os habitantes de Babilônia.
13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, great in treasures, thy end is come, the full measure of thy selfish robbery.
13 Ó tu, que habitas sobre muitas águas, abundante em tesouros, teu fim chegou, e a medida de tua ganância.
14 Sworn hath the Lord of hosts by himself, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with locusts: and they shall lift up the battlecry against thee.
14 O SENHOR dos Exércitos jurou por si mesmo, dizendo: Certamente eu te encherei de homens, como de lagartas, e eles erguerão um grito contra ti.
15 He made the earth by his power, he established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding he stretched out the heavens.
15 Ele fez a terra pelo seu poder; ele estabeleceu o mundo pela sua sabedoria, e estendeu o céu pelo seu entendimento.
16 At the sound when he giveth a multitude of waters in the heavens, and causeth clouds to ascend from the ends of the earth; when he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures:
16 Quando ele pronuncia sua voz, há uma multidão de águas nos céus. Ele faz os vapores subirem desde os confins da terra. Ele faz relâmpagos com chuva, e traz o vento dos seus tesouros.
17 Then standeth every man as brutish without knowledge; ashamed is every goldsmith because of the graven image; for falsehood is his molten work, and there is no breath therein.
17 Todo homem é bruto em seu conhecimento. Todo fundidor fica perplexo pela imagem esculpida, porque a sua imagem fundida é falsidade, e nenhum fôlego existe nelas.
18 They are vanity, the work of deception: in the time of their punishment shall they vanish.
18 Elas são vaidade, obra de erros; no tempo da sua visitação perecerão.
19 Not like these is the portion of Jacob; for He is the former of all things, and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: The Lord of hosts is his name.
19 A porção de Jacó não é semelhante a elas, porque ele é o que forma todas as coisas, e Israel é a vara da sua herança. O SENHOR dos Exércitos é o seu nome.
20 Thou art a hammer unto me, weapons of war; and I strike down with thee nations, and I destroy with thee kingdoms;
20 Tu és meu machado de batalha, e armas de guerra, porque contigo eu despedaçarei as nações, e contigo eu destruirei reinos.
21 And I strike down with thee the horse and his rider; and I strike down with thee the chariot and its rider;
21 E contigo eu despedaçarei o cavalo e o seu cavaleiro, e contigo eu despedaçarei a carruagem e seu cavaleiro.
22 And I strike down with thee man and woman; and I strike down with thee the aged and the lad; and I strike down with thee the young man and the virgin:
22 Contigo eu também despedaçarei homem e mulher, e contigo eu despedaçarei velho e jovem, e contigo eu despedaçarei o jovem e a donzela.
23 And I strike down with thee the shepherd and his flock; and I strike down with thee the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and I strike down with thee governors and rulers.
23 Eu também despedaçarei contigo o pastor e o seu rebanho, e contigo eu despedaçarei o agricultor, e o seu jugo de bois, e contigo eu despedaçarei capitães e governantes.
24 But now will I repay unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion before your eyes, saith the Lord.
24 E, eu darei retribuição à Babilônia, e a todos os habitantes da Caldeia, todo o mal que eles fizeram em Sião à vossa vista, diz o SENHOR.
25 Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the Lord, which destroyest all the earth; and I will stretch out my hand over thee, and I will roll thee down from the rocks, and will render thee a burnt mountain.
25 Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó monte destruidor, diz o SENHOR, que destrói toda a terra. E eu estenderei a minha mão sobre ti, e a te revolverei das rochas, e te tornarei um monte de cinzas.
26 And they shall not take from thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but everlasting ruins shalt thou be, saith the Lord.
26 E eles não tomarão de ti uma pedra para uma esquina, nem uma pedra para fundações. Porém tu estarás desolada para sempre, diz o SENHOR.
27 Lift ye up a standard in the land, blow ye the cornet among the nations, make ready against her nations, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz; appoint against her a commander; cause the horses to come up like the hairy locusts.
27 Erguei vós um estandarte na terra, soprai a trombeta entre as nações, preparai as nações contra ela, convocai contra ela os reinos de Ararate, Mini e Asquenaz. Designai um capitão contra ela, fazei os cavalos surgir como lagartas ásperas.
28 Make ready against her the nations with the kings of Media, its governors, and all its rulers, and all the land of their dominion.
28 Preparai contra ela as nações com os reis dos medos, os seus capitães, e todos os seus governantes, e toda a terra de seu domínio.
29 And the earth quaketh and trembleth; for every one of the purposes of the Lord is fulfilled against Babylon, to change the land of Babylon into a desolate country without an inhabitant.
29 E a terra irá tremer e sentir tristeza, porque todo desígnio do SENHOR será realizado contra Babilônia, para fazer a terra de Babilônia uma desolação, sem um habitante.
30 The mighty men of Babylon have ceased to fight, they sit still in their strongholds; their might is vanished; they are become as women: they have burnt her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken.
30 Os homens poderosos de Babilônia desistiram de lutar; eles permaneceram em suas fortificações. O poder deles tem falhado, eles tornaram-se como mulheres. Eles queimaram as suas habitações; seus ferrolhos estão quebrados.
31 One runner shall run to meet another runner, and one messenger to meet another messenger, to tell unto the king of Babylon that his city is captured at all ends,
31 Um correio correrá para encontrar o outro, e um mensageiro para encontrar outro, para mostrar ao rei de Babilônia que a sua cidade foi capturada de todos os lados:
32 And that the passages have been seized, and that they have burnt the reeds with fire, and that the men of war are affrighted.
32 e as passagens estão bloqueadas, e os canaviais foram queimados a fogo, e os homens de guerra estão aterrorizados.
33 For thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, the daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, at the time they thresh therein; but yet a little while more, when the time of harvest shall come for her.
33 Porque assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: A filha de Babilônia é como uma eira; este é o tempo para debulhá-la. Ainda um curto período de tempo, e o tempo da sua colheita chegará.
34 "Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon devoured me, he crushed me, he set me down as an empty vessel, he swallowed me up like a huge serpent, he filled his belly with my delicacies: he drove me out.
34 Nabucodonosor, o rei de Babilônia, me devorou, ele me esmagou, ele tornou-me em vaso vazio, ele me tragou como um dragão, ele encheu seu ventre com minhas iguarias; ele me expeliu.
35 the violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon," will the inhabitress of Zion say; and "My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea," will Jerusalem say.
35 A violência feita a mim e a minha carne seja sobre Babilônia, dirá o habitante de Sião, e o meu sangue sobre os habitantes da Caldeia, dirá Jerusalém.
36 Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will contend in thy cause, and execute vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and cause her springs to fail.
36 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu pleitearei a tua causa, e vingarei por ti. Eu irei secar o seu mar, e farei as suas nascentes secarem.
37 And Babylon shall become ruinous heaps, a dwellingplace for monsters, an astonishment, and a derision, without an inhabitant.
37 E Babilônia tornar-se-á amontoados, uma habitação para dragões, um assombro, e um assobio, sem um habitante.
38 Together like lions shall they roar: they shall yell like the lions whelps.
38 Eles rugirão juntamente como leões. Eles bramirão como filhotes de leões.
39 When they are heated will I prepare their drinkingfeasts, and I will make them drunken, in order that they may be joyful, and then sleep a perpetual sleep, and not awake again, saith the Lord.
39 No seu calor farei as suas festas, e eu os embriagarei, para que possam regozijar-se, e dormir um sono perpétuo, e não acordem, diz o SENHOR.
40 I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like wethers with hegoats.
40 Eu os derrubarei como cordeiros para a matança, como carneiros juntamente com bodes.
41 How is Sheshach captured! and how is conquered the praise of the whole earth! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
41 Como foi Sesaque tomada! E como está o louvor da terra inteira surpreso! Como foi a Babilônia tornada um assombro entre as nações!
42 The sea is come up over Babylon: with the multitude of its waves is she covered.
42 O mar subiu sobre a Babilônia, ela foi coberta com a multidão de suas ondas.
43 Her cities are become desolate places, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein not any man shall dwell, and through which no son of man shall pass along.
43 As suas cidades são uma desolação, uma terra seca, e um deserto, uma terra em que nenhum homem habita, nem qualquer filho de homem passa perto dali.
44 And I will inflict punishment on Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth what he hath swallowed up out of his mouth; and nations shall not assemble together like a stream unto him any more; yea, the wall of Babylon also is fallen.
44 E eu punirei Bel em Babilônia, e tirarei de sua boca aquilo que ele tragou, e as nações não irão mais se dirigir a ele. Sim, o muro de Babilônia cairá.
45 Go ye out of the midst of her, my people, and save ye every man his life from the fierceness of the anger of the Lord.
45 Meu povo, saí vós do meio dela, e cada homem livre a sua alma da violenta ira do SENHOR.
46 And so that your heart may not faint, and ye fear at the report that is heard in the land: when the report cometh in one year, and after that in another year cometh another report, and when violence be done in the land, by ruler against ruler.
46 E para que não desfaleça o vosso coração, e vós temais pelo rumor que será ouvido na terra, um rumor irá chegar um ano depois disso, e em outro ano irá chegar um rumor, e violência na terra, governante contra governante.
47 Therefore, behold, days are coming, when I will inflict punishment on the graven images of Babylon, and her whole land shall be put to shame, and all her slain shall fail in the midst of her.
47 Portanto, eis que dias vêm em que eu executarei juízo sobre as imagens esculpidas de Babilônia. E a sua terra inteira estará perplexa, e todos os seus mortos cairão no meio dela.
48 And then shall the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, sing because of Babylon; for from the north shall come unto her the destroyers, saith the Lord.
48 Então o céu e a terra, e todos aqueles que estão nela, cantarão por Babilônia, do norte lhe virão os saqueadores, diz o SENHOR.
49 Also Babylon is destined to fall, O ye slain ones of Israel, also at Babylon fall the slain of all the land.
49 Como Babilônia fez os mortos de Israel cair, assim em Babilônia cairão os mortos de toda a terra.
50 But ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember afar off the Lord, and let Jerusalem rise up in your heart.
50 Vós que escapastes da espada; ide embora, não fiqueis parados. De longe lembrai do SENHOR, e deixai Jerusalém adentrar vossa mente.
51 "We had been made ashamed, because we had heard reproach: confusion had covered our faces; because strangers were come into the sanctuaries of the Lords house."
51 Nós estamos perplexos, porque nós temos ouvido desonra; vergonha tem coberto nossas faces, pois estrangeiros estão adentrados aos santuários da casa do SENHOR.
52 Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will inflict punishment on her graven images: and through all her land shall groan the deadly wounded.
52 Por isso, eis que dias vêm, diz o SENHOR, em que eu executarei juízo sobre as suas imagens esculpidas, e por toda a sua terra os feridos irão gemer.
53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength; yet from me should destroyers come unto her, saith the Lord.
53 Ainda que Babilônia subisse aos céus, e ainda que fortificasse a altura da sua fortaleza, contudo de mim virão saqueadores sobre ela, diz o SENHOR.
54 A sound of a painful cry cometh from Babylon, and of a great breach from the land of the Chaldeans;
54 Um som de um clamor chega de Babilônia, e grande destruição da terra dos caldeus.
55 Because the Lord wasteth Babylon, and destroyeth out of her the loud noise; but their waves roar like great waters, the noise of their voice is sent forth;
55 Porque o SENHOR saqueou Babilônia, e destruiu a sua grande voz. Quando as suas ondas rugem como grandes águas, um ruído de sua voz é pronunciado.
56 Because the destroyer is come over her, over Babylon, and her mighty men are caught, every one of their bows is broken; for the God of recompenses, the Lord, will surely requite.
56 Porque o saqueador veio sobre ela, sobre Babilônia, e seus poderosos homens são capturados; cada um dos seus arcos estão quebrados, porém o SENHOR Deus das recompensas, certamente irá retribuir.
57 And I will make drunken her princes, and her wise men, her governors, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not awake again, saith the King, The Lord of hosts is his name.
57 E eu embriagarei os seus príncipes, e os seus sábios, e seus capitães, e seus governantes, e os seus poderosos homens. E eles dormirão um sono perpétuo, e não acordarão, diz o Rei, cujo nome é o SENHOR dos Exércitos.
58 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Every one of the broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly overthrown, and her high gates shall be burnt with fire; so that nations shall have labored in vain, and the people for the fire, and so shall they have wearied themselves.
58 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Os largos muros de Babilônia serão completamente rompidos, e seus altos portões serão queimados a fogo. E o povo trabalhará em vão, e o povo para o fogo, e eles se cansarão.
59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Serayah the son of Neriyah, the son of Machseyah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah unto Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Serayah was chief chamberlain.
59 A palavra que Jeremias, o profeta, ordenou a Seraías, o filho de Nerias, o filho de Maaseias, quando ele veio com Zedequias, o rei de Judá, para a Babilônia, no quarto ano do seu reinado. E este Seraías era um príncipe sereno.
60 And Jeremiah wrote down all the evil that should come upon Babylon in one book, namely, all these words that are written concerning Babylon.
60 Então, Jeremias escreveu em um livro todo o mal que deveria vir sobre a Babilônia, e todas estas palavras que estão escritas contra Babilônia.
61 And Jeremiah said to Serayah, As thou comest to Babylon, see to it, that thou read all these words;
61 E Jeremias disse a Seraías: Quando tu chegares a Babilônia, verás, e lerás todas estas palavras.
62 And thou shalt say, O Lord, thou thyself hast spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, so that there shall not be in it an inhabitant, either man or beast; but that it shall become a desolate place for ever.
62 Então tu dirás: Ó SENHOR, tu tens falado contra este lugar, para o cortar, e que ninguém restará nele, nem homem, nem animal, para sempre ele estará desolado.
63 And it shall be, when thou hast finished reading this book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and throw it into the midst of the Euphrates;
63 E será que quando tu tiveres acabado a leitura deste livro, lhe atarás uma pedra e o lançarás no meio do Eufrates.
64 And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise again from the evil that I will bring upon her: and her people shall be wearied. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.
64 E tu dirás: Desta forma irá Babilônia afundar, e não se levantará do mal que eu trarei sobre ela, e eles se cansarão. Até aqui são as palavras de Jeremias.
