Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs NTLH
1 The word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the nations:
1 O Senhor Deus me falou a respeito das nações.
2 Concerning Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho the king of Egypt, which was posted by the river Euphrates in Karkemish, which Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah.
2 Ele me falou sobre o exército de Neco, rei do Egito, que foi vencido em Carquemis, perto do rio Eufrates, pelo rei Nabucodonosor, da Babilônia. Isso aconteceu no quarto ano do reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, em Judá. A respeito do Egito Deus disse o seguinte:
3 Make ye ready shield and buckler, and draw near to the battle.
3 “Os oficiais egípcios gritam: ‘Aprontem os seus
4 Harness the horses, and mount, ye horsemen, and stand forth with helmets: sharpen the spears, and put on the coats of mail.
4 Ponham arreios nos cavalos e montem! Formem filas e ponham os capacetes! Afiem as lanças e vistam as
5 Wherefore have I seen them dismayed, moving backward? while their mighty ones are beaten down, and seek safety in flight, and look not back? There is terror round about, saith the Lord.
5 “Mas o que estou vendo?” — pergunta Deus. “Os egípcios estão fugindo de medo. Eles correm apavorados e fogem tão depressa, que nem olham para trás.
6 The swift cannot flee away, nor can the mighty man escape: toward the north by the shore of the river Euphrates do they stumble and fall.
6 Aqueles que correm depressa não podem escapar; os soldados não conseguem fugir. No Norte, perto do rio Eufrates, eles tropeçam e caem.
7 Who is this that cometh up like a stream, whose waters are upheaved like the rivers?
7 Quem é este que vem subindo como o rio Nilo, como um rio inundando as suas margens?
8 Egypt cometh up like a stream, and like the rivers are the waters upheaved; and he saith, I will go up, I will cover the land; I will destroy the city and those that dwell therein.
8 É o Egito, subindo como o Nilo, como um rio alagando as suas margens. O Egito disse: ‘Vou subir e cobrir o mundo; vou destruir as cidades e os seus moradores.
9 Come up, ye horses; and rush along wildly, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth: Cush and Put, that grasp the shield, and the Ludim, that grasp and bend the bow.
9 Egípcios, mandem os cavalos saírem e façam os carros de guerra correrem! Mandem os soldados avançarem: os homens da Etiópia e da Líbia, que carregam escudos, e os homens de Lude, que atiram flechas com os seus arcos.’ ”
10 And this same day is for the Lord, the Eternal of hosts, a day of vengeance, to be avenged on his adversaries; that the sword may devour, and may be satiated and made drunken with their blood; for there is a sacrifice for the Lord the Eternal of hosts in the north country by the river Euphrates.
10 Esse é o Dia do Senhor , o Deus Todo-Poderoso! Hoje, ele se vingará; hoje, ele castigará os seus inimigos. A sua espada os devorará até não querer mais e beberá o sangue deles até ficar satisfeita. Hoje, o no Norte, perto do rio Eufrates.
11 Go up into Gilad, and fetch balm, O virgin, daughter of Egypt: in vain usest thou many remedies; there is no recovery for thee.
11 Povo do Egito, vá a Gileade , vá procurar remédios! Todos os seus remédios não adiantam, pois o seu mal não tem cura.
12 Nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry of anguish hath filled the earth; for the mighty man over the mighty have they stumbled, together are both of them fallen.
12 As nações ouviram falar da vergonha da sua derrota; a terra inteira escutou os seus gritos. Um soldado tropeçou no outro, e os dois caíram no chão.
13 The word which the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, concerning the coming of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, to smite the land of Egypt.
13 Quando o rei Nabucodonosor, da Babilônia, veio atacar o Egito, o Senhor Deus me disse o seguinte:
14 Announce ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Thachpanches: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thyself; for the sword devoureth round about thee.
14 “Anunciem isto nas cidades do Egito, em Migdol, Mênfis e Tafnes: ‘Preparem-se para se defender; tudo o que vocês têm será destruído na guerra!
15 Why are thy valiant men swept away? not one hath stood, because the Lord did drive him off.
15 Por que foi que o seu deus poderoso caiu? Foi porque o
16 He caused many to stumble; yea, one also fell over the other; and they said, Arise, and let us return to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from before the wasting sword.
16 Os soldados do Egito tropeçaram e caíram e disseram uns aos outros: ‘Vamos depressa! Vamos voltar para casa, para o nosso povo, e assim escaparemos da espada do inimigo!’
17 They called out there, Pharaoh is king of Egypt, it was but vaunting, he hath let the time appointed pass by.
17 Deem ao rei do Egito este novo nome — ‘Falador Espalhafatoso — o homem que perdeu a sua oportunidade.’
18 As I live, saith the King, the Lord of hosts is his name, Surely as Thabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel is by the sea, so shall he come.
18 “Sou eu, o Rei, quem está falando. Eu sou o Deus vivo. O meu nome é Como o Tabor é mais alto do que outros montes, e o monte Carmelo fica acima do mar, assim aquele que vai atacar é mais forte do que vocês, egípcios.
19 Appurtenances of exile make for thyself, O thou inhabitress, daughter of Egypt; for Noph shall be made a waste and be left desolate without an inhabitant.
19 “Povo do Egito, apronte-se para ser levado como prisioneiro! A cidade de Mênfis vai virar um deserto, será arrasada e ficará sem moradores.
20 O fairest heifer, Egypt! the butcher from the north cometh, he cometh.
20 O Egito é como uma bela vaca, mordida por um moscão que vem do Norte.
21 Also her hired troops in the midst of her are like fatted calves; for they also are turned round, are fled away together, they do not stand; because the day of their calamity is come upon them, the time of their punishment.
21 Até os seus soldados pagos para lutarem são tão mansos como bezerros gordos. Não ficaram firmes para lutar; todos eles viraram as costas e fugiram porque chegou o dia da sua desgraça, chegou a hora da sua destruição.
22 Her cry shall come like the hissing of a serpent; for with an army shall they march, and with axes do they come against her, like hewers of wood.
22 O Egito foge, assobiando como uma cobra, porque o exército inimigo está chegando. Os inimigos atacam com machados, como se fossem cortadores de lenha.
23 They cut down her forest, saith the Lord, though it cannot be searched out; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and there is no number to them.
23 Eles derrubam a sua floresta, onde é tão difícil entrar. Os seus homens são tantos, que não podem ser contados; os soldados inimigos são mais numerosos do que gafanhotos.
24 Ashamed hath been made the daughter of Egypt: she hath been given up into the hand of the people of the north.
24 O povo do Egito está humilhado porque foi dominado pela nação do Norte. Eu, o
25 The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, hath said, Behold, I will send visitation on Ahmon of No, and on Pharaoh, and on Egypt, and on her gods, and on her kings; even on Pharaoh, and on those that trust on him;
25 O Senhor Todo-Poderoso, o Deus de Israel, disse: — Eu castigarei Amom, o deus de Tebas, e também o Egito, os seus deuses e os seus reis. Castigarei o rei do Egito e todos os que confiam nele.
26 And I will give them up into the hand of those that seek their life, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward shall she be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the Lord.
26 Eu os entregarei aos que querem matá-los, isto é, ao rei Nabucodonosor, da Babilônia, e ao seu exército. Porém mais tarde o povo viverá outra vez na terra do Egito. Eu, o Senhor , estou falando.
27 But thou,fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel; for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity: and Jacob shall return, and he shall be at rest and at ease, with none to make him afraid.
27 “Descendentes do meu servo Jacó, não tenham medo! Povo de Israel, não fique assustado! Eu os livrarei dessa terra distante, da terra onde vocês são prisioneiros. Vocês voltarão e viverão em paz; viverão em segurança, e ninguém fará com que fiquem com medo.
28 Thou,fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the Lord; for I am with thee: and although I make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee, yet of thee will I not make a full end; and I will correct thee in measure; yet wholly will I not leave thee unpunished.
28 Estarei com vocês para salvá-los. Destruirei completamente todas as nações por onde os espalhei, mas vocês não serão completamente destruídos. Vocês não ficarão sem castigo, mas, quando eu os castigar, não serei duro demais. Eu, o
