Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs NVI
1 The word which Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto Baruch the son of Neriyah, when he wrote these words in a book out of the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, saying,
1 No quarto ano do reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, depois que Baruque, filho de Nerias, escreveu num rolo as palavras ditadas por Jeremias, este lhe disse:
2 Thus hath said the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning thee, O Baruch:
2 "Assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, a você, Baruque:
3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the Lord hath added grief to my pain; I am wearied in my sighing, and rest have I not found;
3 Você disse, ‘Ai de mim! O Senhor acrescentou tristeza ao meu sofrimento. Estou exausto de tanto gemer, e não encontro descanso’.
4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, Thus hath the Lord said, Behold, what I have built will I pull down, and what I have planted I will pluck up; and so it is with this whole land.
4 Mas o Senhor manda-me dizer-lhe: ‘Assim diz o Senhor: Destruirei o que edifiquei e arrancarei o que plantei em toda esta terra.
5 And wouldst thou indeed seek great things for thyself? seek them not; for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord; but I will give thy life unto thee as a booty in all the places whither thou mayest go.
5 E então? Você deveria buscar coisas especiais para você? Não as busque; pois trarei desgraça sobre toda a humanidade’, diz o Senhor, ‘mas eu o deixarei escapar com vida onde quer que você vá’ ".
