1 And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them: and David took Metheg–haammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
1 E sucedeu, depois disso, que Davi feriu os filisteus e os sujeitou; e Davi tomou a Metegue-Amá das mãos dos filisteus.
2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, laying them down on the ground; and he measured with two lines to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became David’s servants, bringing presents.
2 Também feriu os moabitas, e os mediu com cordel, fazendo-os deitar por terra, e os mediu com dois cordéis para os matar, e com um cordel inteiro para os deixar em vida; ficaram, assim, os moabitas por servos de Davi, trazendo presentes.
3 David smote also Hadad’ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah, as he went to extend his territory at the river Euphrates.
3 Feriu também Davi a Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá, indo ele a virar a sua mão para o rio Eufrates.
4 And David captured from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot: and David hamstringed all the chariot–teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot–teams.
4 E tomou-lhe Davi mil e seiscentos cavaleiros e vinte mil homens de pé; e Davi jarretou todos os cavalos dos carros e reservou deles cem carros.
5 And the Syrians of Damascus then came to aid Hadad’ezer, the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians twenty and two thousand men.
5 E vieram os siros de Damasco a socorrer a Hadadezer, rei de Zobá; porém Davi feriu dos siros vinte e dois mil homens.
6 And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, bearing presents. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
6 E Davi pôs guarnições na Síria de Damasco, e os siros ficaram por servos de Davi, trazendo presentes; e o Senhor guardou a Davi por onde quer que ia.
7 And David took the shields of gold that belonged to the servants of Hadad’ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
7 E Davi tomou os escudos de ouro que havia com os servos de Hadadezer e os trouxe a Jerusalém.
8 And from Betach, and from Berothai, cities of Hadad’ezer, did king David take exceedingly much copper.
8 Tomou mais o rei Davi uma quantidade mui grande de bronze de Betá e de Berotai, cidades de Hadadezer.
9 And when To’i the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadad’ezer,
9 Ouvindo, então, Toí, rei de Hamate, que Davi ferira a todo o exército de Hadadezer,
10 Then did To’i send Yoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well–being, and to bless him, because that he had fought against Hadad’ezer, and smitten him; for Hadad’ezer had been engaged in wars with To’i; and he had in his hand vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of copper:
10 mandou Toí seu filho Jorão ao rei Davi, para lhe perguntar como estava e para lhe dar os parabéns por haver pelejado contra Hadadezer e por o haver ferido (porque Hadadezer de contínuo fazia guerra a Toí); e na sua mão trazia vasos de prata, e vasos de ouro, e vasos de bronze,
11 These also did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and gold that he had sanctified from all the nations which he subdued;
11 os quais também o rei Davi consagrou ao Senhor , juntamente com a prata e ouro que já havia consagrado de todas as nações que sujeitara:
12 From Syria, and from Moab, and from the children of ‘Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from ‘Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadad’ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah.
12 da Síria, e de Moabe, e dos filhos de Amom, e dos filisteus, e de Amaleque, e dos despojos de Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá.
13 And David acquired a name when he returned from his smiting the Syrians in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men.
13 Também Davi ganhou nome, voltando ele de ferir os siros no vale do Sal, a saber, a dezoito mil.
14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
14 E pôs guarnições em Edom, em todo o Edom pôs guarnições, e todos os edomitas ficaram por servos de Davi; e o Senhor ajudava a Davi por onde quer que ia.
15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David did what is just and right unto all his people.
15 Reinou, pois, Davi sobre todo o Israel; e Davi julgava e fazia justiça a todo o seu povo.
16 And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud was recorder;
16 E Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era sobre o exército; e Josafá, filho de Ailude, era cronista.
17 And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Achimelech the son of Ebyathar, were priests; and Serayah was scribe;
17 E Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes, e Seraías, escrivão.
18 And Banayahu the son of Yehoyada’ was over both the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were officers of state.
18 Também Benaia filho de Joiada, estava com os quereteus e peleteus; porém os filhos de Davi eram príncipes.
