1 And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them; and he took Gath and its dependent towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
1 Agora, depois disso, sucedeu que Davi feriu os filisteus, e os subjugou, e tomou Gate e as suas aldeias da mão dos filisteus.
2 And he smote Moab, and the Moabites became David’s servants, bringing presents.
2 E ele feriu Moabe; e os moabitas se tornaram servos de Davi, e trouxeram presentes.
3 David also smote Hadar’ezer the king of Zobah, at Chamath, as he went to establish his dominion at the river Euphrates.
3 E Davi feriu Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, em Hamate, enquanto vinha para estabelecer o seu domínio junto ao rio Eufrates.
4 And David captured from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot; and David hamstringed all the chariot–teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot–teams.
4 E Davi tomou dele mil carruagens, e sete mil cavaleiros, e vinte mil homens a pé; Davi também jarretou todos os cavalos das carruagens, mas reservou cem carruagens.
5 And the Syrians of Damascus came to aid Hadar’ezer the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
5 E quando os sírios de Damasco vieram para socorrer Hadadezer, o rei de Zobá, Davi matou, dos sírios, vinte e dois mil homens.
6 Then did David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became unto David servants, bringing presents. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.
6 Então, Davi pôs guarnições na Síria de Damasco; e os sírios se tornaram servos de Davi, e trouxeram presentes. Assim, o SENHOR preservava a Davi onde quer que ele fosse.
7 And David took the quivers of gold that were on the servants of Hadar’ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
7 E Davi tomou os escudos de ouro que estavam sobre os servos de Hadadezer, e os trouxe para Jerusalém.
8 And from Tibchath, and from Kun, cities of Hadar’ezer, did David take exceedingly much copper; thereof made Solomon the copper sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of copper.
8 De modo semelhante, de Tibate, e de Cum, cidades de Hadadezer, trouxe Davi grande quantidade de bronze, com o qual Salomão fez o mar de bronze, e as colunas e os vasos de bronze.
9 And when To’u the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadar’ezer the king of Zobah:
9 Ora, quando Toú, rei de Hamate, ouviu como Davi havia ferido todo o exército de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá;
10 Then did he send Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well–being, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadar’ezer, and smitten him: for Hadar’ezer had been engaged in wars with To’u; and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and copper.
10 ele enviou Hadorão, o seu filho, até o rei Davi, para lhe perguntar como estava, e para congratulá-lo, porque havia lutado contra Hadadezer, e por havê-lo ferido, (pois Hadadezer travou guerra contra Toú), e com ele toda sorte de vasos de ouro e prata e bronze.
11 Also these did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and the gold that he had carried away from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of ‘Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from ‘Amalek.
11 Os quais o rei Davi também dedicou ao SENHOR, com a prata e o ouro que ele trouxe de todas estas nações; de Edom, e de Moabe, e dos filhos de Amom, e dos filisteus, e de Amaleque.
12 And Abshai the son of Zeruyah smote of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand men.
12 Além disso, Abisai, o filho de Zeruia; matou dos edomitas dezoito mil no vale do Sal.
13 And he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became servants unto David. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.
13 E ele pôs guarnições em Edom; e todos os edomitas se tornaram servos de Davi. Assim, o SENHOR preservava a Davi onde quer que ele fosse.
14 And David reigned over all Israel, and he did what is just and right unto all his people.
14 Assim, Davi reinou sobre todo o Israel; e executou juízo e justiça no meio de todo o seu povo.
15 And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud, recorder.
15 E Joabe, o filho de Zeruia, estava sobre o exército; e Josafá, o filho de Ailude, cronista;
16 And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Abimelech the son of Ebyathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
16 e Zadoque, o filho de Aitube, e Abimeleque, o filho de Abiatar, foram os sacerdotes; e Savsa era escriba;
17 And Benayahu the son of Jehoyada’ was over the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were the first at the side of the king.
17 e Benaia, o filho de Joiada estava sobre os quereteus e peleteus; e os filhos de Davi eram chefes chegados ao rei.
