1 We 'gbʋ, nʋkplɛylinyuno, yo, wɛlɩ 'sɔ -kakɩe, zenyi -yɔ vɛlɩ -wɛlɩnya mɩa, a 'bhʋ we 'dɛ weee 'bɩ.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Sa 'yuyolua 'yɩbhaa nyɩtɩnyu, a 'yɩbha 'sa nyɩtɩnyu 'wlalaa -we -wa -Lagɔɔ wɛlɩ. A -ka we 'nyɛda -mɩ, a 'ka 'ylimanɩ, 'ɩn a 'ka 'pʋpʋe 'yɩ.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Nɩɩ, a ka we ŋwɛ 'yɩ, 'ɩn a yia we 'jiyibheli nɩɩ, Jejitapɛ mɛnɩ.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 A nyni Nyɩmaa -Kanyɔ -Zezu -yɔla, mɔ -wa 'yliyɔga -tʋkpa, -we nyɩma -saa kwnɛɛ, 'ɩn -Lagɔ -saa -bha ɔ dlɩɩ da -tʋkpa tɩklɩɩ nya.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 We mɩ cɛlɩda -Lagɔsɛbhɛ 'wʋɛ:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Amɩa -wa ŋwnua -Lagɔɔ gbʋ -yɔ, wee tʋkpa ka 'ŋnɩ -gʋ, amɩa -Lagɔɔ 'yuaa -nʋ nya. 'Ɩn -wa'a ŋwnua -Lagɔɔ gbʋ -yɔ,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 We mɩ 'ya cɛlɩdaɛ:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 'Ɩn amɩa, amɩa -Lagɔ -saa -bha, a ka nyɩmaa 'wlulapɩlɩnyɔɔ -Lagɔbʋbɔnya -zɛ. A ka -Lagɔɔ -mɔwlʋnya -yɔ ɔ 'dɛbhlogbɔɔɔ -nʋ -zɛ, 'ɩn a 'ka ɔ lɛnʋgbʋ 'kadɩ gba. -We ka gbʋ -wa, mɔ -saa aɩn nikpise 'wʋ, 'ɩn ɔ yia aɩn ɔ zlɩ 'kadʋ 'klʋ -la.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 -Benyi, amɩa 'nɩa -Lagɔɔ nyɩma, a ka -slɛɛn ɔ nyɩma -zɛ. 'Ɩn amɩa -Lagɔ'ɔ 'yɩlɩa -benyi nyazɩ, 'ɩn -slɛɛn amɩa ɔ yɩlɩa nyazɩ.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Na jijli -talea, ɩn nɛɛ aɩn -ylaɛ: a mɩ 'lakpanya -yɔ 'plɩplɩnya nya dʋdʋ -gʋ. A zʋ amɩaa 'dɛ 'yliyɔ nyɩmaa dlɩwʋnynili 'nyiii gbɛgbɛɩn, -we gʋa amɩaa zuzuu -gbɛ tʋ.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Amɩaa nɔnɔbhʋ -mɩ tɩklɩɩ -wa 'nɩa -Lagɔ -yi 'yliya 'wʋ. Wa -ka sa aɩn gbʋnyii lɛnʋnya 'wʋpalɩoo, amɩaa lɛnʋgbʋ -zɔnʋ wa yia yibhelia. 'Ɩn da -Lagɔ -ka yi, ɔ 'ŋnɩ wa yia -mnɩnɩa.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Nyɩmaa -Kanyɔɔ 'gbʋ, a zʋ nyɩma weee 'wlulapɩlɩnya 'nʋŋwɛ. A zʋ nyɩmaa 'wlulapɩlɩnyɔ 'kadʋ 'nʋŋwɛ, mɔ kaa se 'kadʋ aɩn -gʋ.

14 'Gbee -cɩan, -wa nyɩmaa 'wlulapɩlɩnyɔ 'kadʋ tiea, wa 'ka gbʋnyii -lɛnʋnya -kaslʋ 'wʋpa, 'ɩn wa 'ka gbʋzɔnʋʋ lɛnʋnya 'ŋnɩkwalɩ, a zʋ wa 'nʋŋwɛ.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Nɩɩ, -Lagɔ 'yɩbha a nʋ gbʋzɔnʋ lɛ, 'ɩn a 'ka titinanya -yɔ gbʋkpʋaa gbanya ŋwɛ 'munu.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 A mɩ amɩaa 'dɛ -yla, 'ɩn a 'na -tɔlʋ -mʋʋ dlɩ, a 'ka gbʋnyuu lɛnʋ -nɩ. Nɩɩ, a nɔ -Lagɔɔ lubhonʋnya 'bhisa.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 A zʋbha nyɩma weee, a -kalɩ amɩaa -Lagɔbheliaa zɛ, a sɔ -Lagɔ, 'ɩn a zʋbha nyɩmaa 'wlulapɩlɩnyɔ 'kadʋ.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Lubhonʋnya, a tɩ amɩaa 'dɛ 'wʋ 'kienyi amɩaa -cɩan 'yu, 'ɩn a sɔ wa. We 'nɩ -wa mɩa -dlɔɔ, 'ɩn wa kaa 'nanɩ -bhlo -yla a 'ka we lɛnʋ, a nʋ we lɛ 'ya -wa 'tɛa -yla.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 We -ka nɩɩ, -ɩn 'nɩ gbʋ lɛnʋ, 'ɩn wa palɩ -mɩ 'klɩyɩe 'wʋ, -ɩn -ka we 'gba 'wluzɔladɩ -Lagɔɔ 'gbʋ, 'ɩn -Lagɔ ŋwnaa -mɩ 'nyu la.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Nɩɩ, wa -ka aɩn 'klɩyɩe 'wʋpalɩ gbʋnyuu a nʋa lɛɛ 'gbʋ, 'ɩn a -ka we 'wluzɔladɩ, 'ŋnɩ -mʋmʋ we nyɛ aɩn a? Nɩɩ, a -ka gbʋ -zɔnʋ lɛnʋ, wa -ka we 'gbʋ aɩn 'klɩyɩe 'wʋpalɩ, a -ka we 'wluzɔladɩ, 'ɩn -Lagɔ ŋwnaa aɩn 'nyu la.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 -We mɩa dɛɛ 'gbʋ -Lagɔ yia aɩn la. Nɩɩ, Klisɩɩ 'dɛ ka 'ya sɩa amɩaa 'gbʋ, ɔ ka aɩn 'yoo da -slolu, a 'ka ɔ nɔnɔbhʋ nɔ.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 «Ɔ 'nɩ gbʋnyuu yabhlogbɔɔ lɛnʋ,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Da wa vɛlɩa ɔ, ɔ 'nɩ we 'bɩgʋpalɩ vɛlɩe nya. Da wa palɩa ɔ 'klɩyɩe 'wʋ, ɔ 'nɩ wa 'wluo 'kpɩlɩ. Nɩɩ, -Lagɔ -ɔ bhua nyɩmɛɛ -yɔgbʋ 'wʋ tɩklɩɩ, 'mɔ ɔ tɩlɩa ɔ 'dɛ.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 'Ɩn mɔ 'bhua -amɩaa gbʋnyuuu 'gba 'wʋ, ɔ 'dɛɛ ku zɔ, ɔ 'dɛɛ *su -gʋ. 'Ɩn -a 'ka tlɩ gbʋnyuuu gbɛgbɛɩn, -a 'ka 'yliyɔgagɩe tɩklɩɩ 'yɩ. Ɔ lɛnʋnʋe -yɔ a 'yɩa 'pʋpʋe.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Nɩɩ, a 'wlʋ zlɩmɛ mnɔmnɔ -bhlabhlɛ. 'Ɩn -slɛɛn, nyɩmɛ -ɔ -wa amɩaa 'Yliyɔzʋnyɔ, 'ɩn -ɔ kʋa amɩaa zuzu ŋwɛ, a ka ɔ -gbɛ lʋyi.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
