1 Woe to the land with whirring wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
1 Como vai sofrer a nação que fica às margens dos rios da Etiópia, a terra onde se ouve o zumbido de insetos!
2 That sends ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, you swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth of skin, to a people feared from their beginning until now; a nation powerful and treading down, whose land the rivers divide!
2 Esse país nos manda os seus mensageiros que descem o rio Nilo em barcos feitos de Mensageiros velozes, voltem para casa! Voltem para o seu povo forte e poderoso, aquela gente alta e de pele lustrosa; um povo de quem o mundo inteiro tem medo e que vive numa região dividida por rios.
3 All you inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see, when he lifts up a banner on the mountains; and when he blows a trumpet, hear.
3 Escutem, todos os povos do mundo, todos os moradores da terra! Vejam a bandeira que será levantada nas montanhas e ouçam o som da corneta.
4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will watch from my dwelling place like a clear heat in sunshine, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
4 Pois o Senhor Deus me disse: “Do meu lar, no céu, olharei calmo e tranquilo como o sol que brilha num dia de verão, como as gotas de orvalho que aparecem no tempo da colheita.”
5 For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
5 Quando as flores da parreira já tiverem caído, e as uvas estiverem amadurecendo, mas antes do tempo da colheita, Deus podará a parreira com o seu facão, cortará os galhos e os jogará fora.
6 They shall be left together for the fowls of the mountains, and for the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
6 Os corpos dos soldados mortos serão abandonados; no verão, serão comidos pelos urubus, e no inverno os animais selvagens os devorarão.
7 In that time shall a present be brought unto the LORD of hosts from a people tall and smooth of skin, and from a people feared from their beginning until now; a nation powerful and treading under foot, whose land the rivers divide, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, to mount Zion.
