1 Ao Músico-chefe de Neginote, Salmo de Davi. Ouve-me quando eu chamar, ó Deus da minha justiça; tu me ampliaste quando eu estava aflito; tem misericórdia de mim e ouve a minha oração.
2 O ye sons of men, how long [will ye turn] my glory into shame? [how long] will ye love vanity, [and] seek after the lie? Selah.
2 Ó vós, filhos dos homens, por quanto tempo tornareis minha glória em vergonha? Por quanto tempo amareis a vaidade e buscareis a mentira? Selá.
3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
3 Mas sabei que o SENHOR separou aquele que é piedoso para si; o SENHOR ouvirá quando eu o chamar.
4 Stand in awe, and sin not; meditate in your heart upon your bed, and desist. Selah.
4 Permanecei no temor e não pequeis; conversai com o vosso próprio coração sobre a vossa cama, e ficai quietos. Selá.
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
5 Oferecei sacrifícios de justiça, e ponde vossa confiança no SENHOR.
6 [There are] many that say, Who will show us [any] good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
6 Há muitos que dizem: Quem nos mostrará algum bem? SENHOR, levanta a luz do teu semblante sobre nós.
7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart in the time [that] their grain and their wine multiplied.
7 Puseste alegria no meu coração, mais do que no tempo em que se lhes multiplicaram o trigo e o vinho.
8 I will both lay me down in peace and sleep: for thou only, O LORD, dost make me to be confident.:
8 Eu tanto me deitarei em paz quanto dormirei; porque tu, SENHOR, somente me fazes habitar em segurança.
