Romanos 13
English Jubilee 2000 Bible (JUBL2000) vs NVT
1 Let every soul submit itself to the higher powers. For there is no power but of God, and the powers that be are ordained of God.
1 Todos devem sujeitar-se às autoridades, pois toda autoridade vem de Deus, e aqueles que ocupam cargos de autoridade foram ali colocados por ele.
2 Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God, and those that resist shall receive condemnation to themselves.
2 Portanto, quem se rebela contra a autoridade se rebela contra o Deus que a instituiu e será punido.
3 For the magistrates are not a terror unto those who do good, but to the [doer of] evil. Is thy desire therefore to not fear the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same;
3 Pois as autoridades não causam temor naqueles que fazem o que é certo, mas sim nos que fazem o que é errado. Você deseja viver livre do medo das autoridades? Faça o que é certo, e elas o honrarão.
4 for he is [a] minister of God for thy good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is [a] minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that does evil.
4 As autoridades são servos de Deus, para o seu bem. Mas, se você estiver fazendo algo errado, é evidente que deve temer, pois elas têm o poder de puni-lo, pois estão a serviço de Deus para castigar os que praticam o mal.
5 Therefore it is necessary that [ye] be subject, not only for punishment, but also for conscience sake.
5 Portanto, sujeitem-se a elas, não apenas para evitar a punição, mas também para manter a consciência limpa.
6 For for this cause ye also pay [them] tribute, for they are God's ministers, attending continually to this very thing.
6 É por esse motivo também que vocês pagam impostos, pois as autoridades estão a serviço de Deus no trabalho que realizam.
7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
7 Deem a cada um o que lhe é devido: paguem os impostos e tributos àqueles que os recolhem e honrem e respeitem as autoridades.
8 Owe no one anything, but love one unto another; for he that loves [his] neighbour has fulfilled the law.
8 Não devam nada a ninguém, a não ser o amor de uns pelos outros. Quem ama seu próximo cumpre os requisitos da lei de Deus.
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet, and if [there is] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
9 Pois os mandamentos dizem: “Não cometa adultério. Não mate. Não roube. Não cobice”. Esses e outros mandamentos semelhantes se resumem num só: “Ame o seu próximo como a si mesmo”.
10 Charity works no evil to a neighbour; therefore, charity is the fulfillment of the law.
10 O amor não faz o mal ao próximo, portanto o amor cumpre todas as exigências da lei de Deus.
11 And this, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awaken ourselves out of sleep, for now [is] our saving health nearer than when we believed.
11 Tudo isso é ainda mais urgente porque vocês sabem como é tarde; o tempo está se esgotando. Despertem, pois nossa salvação está mais próxima agora do que quando cremos no início.
12 The night is past, and the day is come; let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us clothe ourselves [with] the weapons of light.
12 A noite está quase acabando, e logo vem o dia. Portanto, deixem de lado as obras das trevas como se fossem roupas sujas e vistam a armadura da luz.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day, not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
13 Uma vez que pertencemos ao dia, vivamos com decência, à vista de todos. Não participem de festanças desregradas, de bebedeiras, de promiscuidade sexual e de práticas imorais, e não se envolvam em brigas nem em invejas.
14 But [be] clothed [with] the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not listen to the flesh, to [fulfil] its desires.:
14 Em vez disso, revistam-se do Senhor Jesus Cristo e não fiquem imaginando formas de satisfazer seus desejos pecaminosos.
